[N4][ROOT] DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit (v17) {perf_event exploit}[20130717] - Nexus 4 Android Development

[ Info ]
(New! Windows/Linux/MAC Support!)
so guys good news! we have a new exploit working! i have tested this on my friends Nexus 4!
i have successfully ported it for the devices i have/use... it was ported to android by hiikezoe but it was a HUGE pain trying to get every address involved... HUGE thanks to fi01 for helping out understand the whole process and giving a great walkthrough as to how to port new devices to it!
[ NOTE ]
this WILL WORK on both LOCKED & UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER DEVICES!
beginning from v13 now you only need to be on the corresponding firmware! any customization SHOULD work
[ how to root ]
just download the file, extract it completely using winzip/winrar
go to the folder where its extracted and execute "RUNME.bat"
read and follow the instructions on the screen!
REBOOT THE DEVICE AFTER THE SCRIPT HAS FINISHED EXECUTION!

Lol yup I was just about to ask. As I figured it would be first question. Glad you added its addressing for future possibility. A great root tool. Never get enough exploit. That's what I say. Lmao. Peace bro. And I've heard your name several times but I was always on another device. Peace.

one of my friends was bugging me to root his Nexus 4 without unlocking bootloader... since i was working on this exploit for Xperia devices i thought might as well get it working on the Nexus 4

Doesn't work. Locked device is shown via adb as offline and script hangs on *demon started succesfully

Holy!!! DooM!!! I haven't seen you in forever!!! Nice to see you still in the game. I jumped to an iPhone for a bit right after my xperia x10
But, now I'm back at it with my nexus 4.
Nice seeing you around please keep up the amazing work

Download latest adb for 4.2.2. Then you will get a prompt on your phone when you connect to adb. Press yes or allow or whatever.

My bootloader is locked, if I use this script, will it unlock my bootloader to root and then relock it or will it somehow wipe all my data like if I was unlocking the bootloader?
Also, if I want to unroot, can I do it with mskip's toolkit?

reinventing the wheel... cmon we have 4 toolkits already. that works.

Be nice!! DooMLoRD isn't just a name...he is an xperia GOD!! lol IIRC, he (?) was one of the lead devs in unlocking the xperia 2010 and 2011 bootloaders when sony gave us all who didn't buy sim unlocked versions the middle finger when we asked to have our bootloaders unlocked along with those who did buy their devices sim unlocked. You can turn your nose up at that feat all you want, too, because I remember reading all the posts in the dev thread about how good of a job sony did at locking that sucker down, too....that was NOT exactly an easy nut to crack, to say the least!

Doomlord! Man i misses that name after going to nexus 4 after xperia x10. That thing is still running your kernel.

I'm having a similar issue, except mine's not 'offline'.
My SDK is fully up to date, and device is not 'offline', it shows normally under abd when polled 'adb devices'. I can access basic ADB commands just fine.
I accepted the security message when it prompted me (before even trying your script), it's something different, I believe.
Hangs on the daemon started line of your script.
Nevermind, looks like I got it to work.
Went through it line by line to see where it was having issues, and it completed all the way through. There were a few errors reported in the main shell run, but I have supersu and successfully granted su to terminal.
I think the problem was because it failed on the previous run, the tmp folder already existed, and it was trying to recreate it and not reporting an error/exception (?)
I skipped down and ran it line by line starting with pushing the files and no problem.
Thanks!

Man you are such a donation addict plz stop posting in EVERY damn device forum you do not own. Geez

dude its not about donations... this exploit is VERY specific to kernel, software version & device... it has to be manually ported to each new kernel, new software version, and new device..
the point of having different threads is to isolate device specific issues (if any) and avoid confusion...

Sorry..for my stupid question. I am so new for Android.
Question 1: I just rooted my Z2 by Doomlord's tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783750. And now I want to install this dual recovery. So, if I installed this dual recovery, then do I need to unlock bootloaded to flash any customize rom or tweaks? such as, sound mod from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2758189
Question 2: Which option should i select? 1 or 2? After rooted I saw the SuperSU icon on my Z2. So, is it correct if I select option 1?

You only need an unlocked bootloader if the rom requires a custom kernel to operate. Other then that, you can do everything you want.
@[NUT]
So after running the new Z2 root tool I can't seem to install your dual recovery using Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.7.124-BETA.installer.zip
Currently on the .402 update and using SuperSU.
At first I thought it was a problem writing to /system but then managed to get binaries updated and Xposed installed.
Tried selecting both option 1 and 2 at different occasions but with no luck.
I don't have a log file from the phone, but I have attached the output from both attempts as text files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Xperia feat. HATSUNE MIKU Firmware on Xperia ZR

Hey Guys,
I'm explain in this Thread how to install easily the Xperia feat. HATSUNE MIKU Firmware on Xperia ZR
You need:
1.) a Xperia ZR
2.) Xperia ZR 10.3.1.A.0.244 FTF
3.) Xperia feat. HATSUNE MIKU 10.3.1.B.2.13 FTF
4.) Flashtool (Androxyde)
Now the Instruction:
1.) Flash your Xperia ZR with the Xperia ZR 10.3.1.A.0.244 Firmware (See Screenshot in Attachment)
2.) After that,do not boot in the OS, now the most important Part Flash your Phone with the Xperia feat. HATSUNE MIKU 10.3.1.B.2.13 Firmware and do not forget to exclude: APPSLOG, CACHE, DATA, BOOTBUNDLE, PARTITION, TA, KERNEL,FOTA,BASEBAND only the SYSTEM must remain. (See Screenshot in Attachment)
The Firstboot take 3-10 Minutes because the Phone is now full Bloaded with DoCoMo and Other Apps
This should work with the C5503 too
If anything goes wrong does the same as in this Instruction again.
Have Fun :3

The Firstboot take 3-10 Minutes because the Phone is now full Bloaded with DoCoMo and Other Apps
This should work with the C5503 too
If anything goes wrong does the same as in this Instruction again.

Of Corse Working 100%
I hope this ist proof enough: the Xperia feat. Hatsune Miku has 32GB and the normal ZR only 8GB (4GB Usable, look at Screenshots) and you can see on my Photo this is the normal ZR (No NTT DoCoMo Logo)
*sorry for late reply*
um, does the Machi chara worked on your phone? Machi chara is that little tiny miku that run around on your screen
oh, and does the lockscreen change to xperia miku lockscreen too?
my current xperia zr firmware is C5502_10.4.B.0.569 (jelly bean 4.3), can i do it on this? //sorry for too much asking
Of course it is working but other DoCoMo arent working because you need a NTT Docomo Simcard. all other things are the same like the lockscreen.
No you must flash first any 4.2 Firmware and then flash the Miku firmware. do not forget to exclude partition userdata baseband kernel fota and other things listened in the instruction (first post)
Have you tried rooting the phone? I have purchased the Hatsune Miku versin to replace my aging (and failing) Atrix (that, and i wanted the 32 GB in ROM storage), and i want to know if DooMLoRD method still works or not.
I do not understand that how did u increased the internal storage. Please explain.

Japanese versions of the ZR (also known as Xperia A) come with 32 GB. US versions come with only 8 GB.

Does anyone tried this on Tablet Z3 LTE already?
Not working
When i tried installing it don't install even though the bat file says it's successfully installed. i used an sgp621 pre-rooted rom created with PRF creator. Now I flashed it and I lost recovery. Any idea how would this work on stock kernel with root permissions?

I tried recreating the PRF (i mistakenly put the installer zip instead of flashable zip). However, i would just like to report that if i use the Windows installer zip, it just won't work though i have proper root and on stock kernel/ROM. SGP621_23.0.1.A.0.167 is the firmware. Now i made it worked by creating a flashable rom with your dual recovery on it.
Problem solved - I needed to update to the advanced kernel first.
There is a problem with the TWRP recovery - it is displaying in landscape mode while the device is booting in portrait one. So it doesn't fit the screen and it is not really functional so. Fix it please if possible. Thanks.
P.S. replaced with the file from Z3 phone and it works, but not in fullscreen.
Hi, I asked this already in the q&a but I'm not sure if anyone is keeping an eye on that section so please forgive me for asking in the main thread again:
Can anybody tell me if this recovery will work with cm12?
Thanks.

No.
@[NUT]
thanks a lot for your answer.
Is there any chance you could post the isolated TWRP img file?
This would allow me to install it in FOTA partition.
The cm recovery is such crap ...

Actually, you can simply download and unpack the cpio file yourself. Beware: It is a cpio image and not a disk image.
@[NUT]
thanks again for answering so fast.
I just googled a little bit about how to converrt a cpio archive to a .img file, but that's definitely way over my head (if it's possible at all).
Running a windows machine doesn't seem to help, either.
So thank you very much for your advice, but before i f*** up everything I'll stay with crap cm recovery
regards, der_bert
Dear NUT,
pls take a look on postNr.10.I have the same problem, can you please fix it?
Thank you!!!
I am stock locked bootloader , which 1 should i choose in CMD??

Is it possible to use this with a locked bootloader AND restored DRM keys? I tried to restore DRM keys with advanced stock kernel... which isnt a kernel (im sure or pretty sure...) but TWRP recovery. And i ended up bricking my tablet. I ended up restoring to stock no drm keys no root yet. I couldnt use Xposed with the current methods of unlock, relock bootloader (using advanced kernel) because I couldnt access recovery. In short im asking is it possible to use this with DRM keys and Xposed under a locked botloader?

Any kind of kernel with recovery or a FOTA kernel replacement is actually a custom kernel solution. You CAN NOT restore DRM/TA when you're running a community kernel or even have something else flashed to the FOTA partition.
I am pretty sure you heard the bell ring, but don't know what rang it...
Restore TA (and with that DRM): flash sony stock kernel and restore the stock FOTA kernel, otherwise your device won't boot and be in a 'soft brick' state.

Where should one unpack it to make TWRP work? I really wish we could have it on CM12, since default CM recovery can't even automatically apply updates. Not even talking about working with exFAT :/
