'Clear' button on notifications has vanished - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Earlier I flashed the BE .307 FW and rooted using Doomlord's toolkit. All went smoothly but after rebooting the 'clear' button on my notifications has disappeared so i have no way to clear notifications. Has anyone else experienced this? I've hard reset a couple of times, but no luck.

This is not a solution as such, but you can clear notifications by swiping them left or right.

Reflash it or repair it with pcc or sus and wipe everything, back up your files.

when stuck, open Windows task manager and kill ADB blah process, the bigger size one perhaps...
you can see more than one ADB processes there...
I don't know why but it works for me...
I had this problem and did a phone repair through the PC companion software. It's a pain to have it back to stock but since you've found no other way you could try this.
i had this problem yesterday noon... i solve it with factory reset ... after this i did the root process again with no problem.

Hi all, im on .253 rooted with dual recovery with locked bl, as of today my xz is randomly rebooting while on a travel charger in my car,had a second charger at hand but it makes no differents.

Repair it with pcc or sus. You will lose root, if that matters to you that much then
Backup with cwm
Downgrade to 434
Redo all the procedures to retain root.
Try another ftf 253

This happens to me too on 253, rarely. I pay it no attention.

My phone restarts while its idle. It happened 3 times and another thing is that the screen won't turn on at times and then phone will die (calling the phone I get unreachable) and only way to revive except power+up button hard reset.
This happened after. 253 update which I did via Sony update service.

LBE Privacy Guard -> boot loop -- help?

Hi,
i just installed LBE privacy guard (on stock 434 FW rooted, unlocked BL). Unfortunately that app decided to go haywire on my phone, sending it into a boot loop.
Stupid enough i didn't make a backup before installing that thing (why would anyone?).
Is there any way to get this thing off the device without razing it completely? I can access TWRP and flash/fastboot.
Use flashtool to reflash a stock 434 ftf. Just don't wipe /data and you shouldn't lose any of your settings/apps. You will have to root again though.

I tried that, reflashing the FTF, however the app was still there and it was still autostarting. But in TWRP i found the advanced>file manager and removed the .apk (good that i had TWRP flashed).

Oh well. Glad you got it sorted.
Just FYI, everywhere I've seen LBE Privacy Guard mentioned there are people complaining that it causes reboot loops on Jelly Bean roms just like you experienced, so I'd give it a miss in future.

Here on XDA there is a translated LBE Security Master. It has some useless stuff but it has still that privacy control.

I had the same problem. delete the apk in the internal memory. look to where you find them. then it boots normally again.
My problem was solved.

[HELP] System ui is gone

So, my z is on mooke 4.4.1 and first it received no signal so I rebooted it and surprisingly it got longer than usual. And then the status and the nav bar were missing. So I wiped the dalvik cache and cache but theres no change. I've rebooted my phone multiple time including disabling all xposed modules and there's no change. And no, I don't have expanded desktop enabled. And I know that yhere's another thread that have similar problem but I found it to be lacking of info so I decided to make a new one. Please guys help me I can't bear with this condition.
Reflash the rom without wiping /data.

Done it, still no luck
try doing a complete FTF restore using flashtool then flash your desired rom again, going through all the rooting procedures again.
although this sort of issue happened to my HTC Incredible S and later it became obvious that the mainboard died.

Firmware 4.4 unexpected reboots

So far I've gotten 3-4 unexpected reboots on the new 4.4 firmware. Using different apps and the phone suddenly stops responding. Nothing works, not even the hardware buttons. Then after some seconds the phone just reboots.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Make a clean install of everything do not restore backups.

I did. I had unlocked the bootloader and was running Cyanogenmod before. Did a complete wipe (data + cache) then re-locked the bootloader in order to let Sony PC Companion "repair" the phone by doing a complete reset.
If this keeps up I'll go back to Cyanogenmod.
Did you restore apps using titanium backup or any other app?

No, setup everything from scratch again.
Hmm... Strange then. Maybe it's something else that's causing this problem.
