[Q] razr i bricked/locked, stuck at intel inside logo - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

please help, i wanted to boot into cwm recovery and maybe i pressed the power button and/or volume down button too long or too short (don't know). the phone started to boot normal with the moto logo and when get stuck at the intel inside logo. that's it.
all the buttons have no more reaction when pressed, no led glowing. no button work -> no possibilty to shut down the phone.
any idea?
edit: problem solved. pressing powerbutton and volume+/- at last gave a vibration and releasing the buttons resulted in normal boot.

[Q] recovery boot for XT701

By lack of another location, can someone tell me how I can get into the recovery mode for the XT701?
I tried pressing the media button and powering up (with media button pressed). This gives me the exclamation mark-in-triangle display, after that I tried Volume-up plus media button, and volume-up plus camera button, but neither seemed to bring up a recovery menu.
I also tried startup with camera button and volume-up pressed, which gives a boot loader meny, which only tells me I have to connect to a USB cable. (and if I do, nothing else happens...).
So basically those methods don't work (despite what people say on the internet).
Can someone tell me what is the right methode to start up recovery mode on the XT701? It is a necessity to use because without it no one can flash, so please let me know asap.
From what I remember when I was using this phone, powering the phone on while holding the media button will get you to the /!\ symbol. Once there, then holding the volume up button and pressing the camera button SHOULD get you into the recovery menu.
If that's not working... then I got nothin. That's what I did to get into recovery. I just tested it on my old XT701.

Ativ S Blue Screen After Boot

I have bought a Second hand Ativ S and it turned out to be dev unit, it worked for the most part(occasional crashes), but recently it broke.
After it boots it gets me to a blue screen and then powers off. I can still access the download mode and the system files via USB. But I want to do a factory reset of some sort or at least be able to use it.
Can someone help me out with this? Is there a possibility to re flash it? or is there a combination of buttons i don't know about?

have tried to hard reset the phone by this steps?
If you can't access your phone's Settings page:
1.Turn off your phone.
2.Turn on your phone again by pressing the volume down button until you see the exclamation mark
3.Then, reset the phone by pressing the following four buttons in this order: Volume up, Volume down, Power, Volume down.
4.Your phone should now reset and restart itself. (It might take a while for the process to complete.)
And it didn't work for you? If not you have go to a Samsung store, probably they will flash you a normal OS to your phone...

I've tried that...it didn't work. I've also went to Samsung and apparently it made it worse. Initially my problem had a blue screen after booting but after I took it back from service the blue screen has disappeared and now the phone just powers down after the boot. THe guys at Samsung told me that the don't have the device number in their database and that the cannot do anything to it....so i'm hopping that some tool will pop-up and I'll be able to flash the device from home.
Also being an Engineering unit when I power the device based on your description it doesn't show me an exclamation mark it just goes dark and if i hook it up to the pc it shows as mass USB storage, and I can access the files on it. So there is something i'm missing for this device in particular.
Thanks anyway for your support.
Thank you again Jackson5...Really...Thank you, i've almost lost hope...after seeing your post and replying to it I said ....what the heck...lets try that again, and it worked...not with your steps exactly...I put the phone into a charger and it started to power up...Windows logo power down..and again power up and shutting down....Meanwhile I pressed Up on the volume and the exclamation mark appeared. and from there, suffice to say that I have a phone, again. So Thanks again

Same problem, help...
It seems Ive got the same problem with my Ativ S, I've tried everything and nothing is working...
Sorry, but can you tell me what buttons exactly and in what order did you press to get to the exclamation mark screen, please? I am sorry but I really cannot understand your explanation (your post) very well, you said:
"Windows logo power down..and again power up and shutting down....Meanwhile I pressed Up on the volume..."
Do you mean logo + power or logo + power + volume down or something else? I cannot understand the part "again power up and shutting down" either...
Thanks

If the phone powers down due to blue screen or any other problem you might encounter, connecting it to a power source will make your phone restart...so basically what happens is the Phone powers up reaches the error and shuts down, but because is plugged to a power source it will power back up. So while you are plugged with the device keep pressing those buttons... Having a Dev unit apparently it worked with the Vloume Up ...
-Press the Volume Down Key + Power Key to turn on the unit
- Still hold the volume down key, the release Power Key.
- Wait for the startup screen booting with an exclamation mark " ! " then release the volume down key.
- Press the following buttons in the following order: press the volume up (high volume key) ==> press volume key down (low volume key) ==> press the power key ==> press volume down key.
- Wait a moment and look at the screen, a message such as loading new software will start the hard reset process

Phone Wont Boot, Flashing Home and Back Buttons, Red LED

I tried to update my rooted HTC One but it seems that something went wrong. The phone will not boot. When I hold down the power button the home and back buttons start to flash. I have tried to boot into the bootloader by holding the power button until the home and back buttons stop flashing but all that does is turn the red LED on and the screen stays black. How do I fix this so I can use my phone again?

The buttons are supposed to flash when you hold down the power button. After the buttons stop flashing, quickly release and then hold the power + vol down buttons. That should work unless something really got messed up.
adb

ADB isn't working?

XT1096 no longer boots

I accidently removed my OS, and now I cannot boot into my bootloader.
I've tried charging the phone with it's OEM charger, and it stays stuck on the white battery charging screen until it dies again. I've tried doing it via my PC, and it charges, but I cannot do anything but boot onto the Motorola "Powered by Android" where it freezes, until I hold power and volume down, where it black screens, and restarts again. This happened after clearing my data and failing to flash an OS. After rebooting my phone, this happened. My bootloader is unlocked, but the phone isn't rooted. I've got a ROM that works, but adb is useless as my phone doesn't show up.
If you have twrp recovery Press & hold Power key& volumes up/down hold them all together.. Keep holding pressing about 10 sec or until you see little dim red light it's going to be left side upper speaker...once you see it don't let go of buttons for 8 seconds OK this is critical let go of the buttons & hold them again about 5 seconds,
TWRP recovery should show up.. If not repeat steps again. TWRP will show up.

Power Button problem ?

Hello!
Not later than this morning I realized a problem on my Idol 4. At random moments it restarts. When it is on the screen of starting up it continues to restart in a loop. I came to the conclusion that it is a problem with the power button because when I press the volume buttons to enter download mode or even recovery, it quit the download mode (which is done by pressing power) and select options automatically in recovery (which also done by pressing power). So when it restarts I just press the power button randomly, try to pull it out of the phone and then it stops restarting. But again, minutes later it restarts... The button seems not broken or anything that kind but maybe it's in the inside ?
So just questionning how can I fix this.
Thank you a lot !
I think you can just pop the screen off and buy a replacement the idol three was pretty easy to replace. No special tools just used my nails
