[Q] Back button backlight not working? - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a brand new Lumia 920, and I note that the backlight of the "back" button rarelly turns on....home and search backlight works fine, but the back button only turns on once or twice a day.
Is this normal? how to fix it?
Sorry for my english.

All the backlights should come on together. Sounds like you may have gotten a faulty model; warranty replacement should be no trouble. These things happen, especially when the problem is intermittent and may have slipped through testing.

[Q] My screen stays off when starting the phone. Help needed.

Hi, I've been having this rare and random problem with my Captivate. It seems like once or twice a month, when my phone is in stand by and I hit the power button to wake it up, the screen stays off. I can mimic swiping the screen and the soft keys will light up and the phone will vibrate. Taking the battery out does not help. The phone will boot up and I can hear the att and samsung video but the screen is still black.
When this happens, it will sometimes randomly come back on after about an hour or two, sometimes more. I've searched but haven't found that magic trick yet. Anyone else have this problem and a possible solution? Any help would be awesome, thanks!
Sounds like a hardware problem. Still under warranty?
Yeah, it's very annoying. I can hear texts going off with seemingly no way to read them. I've had it more than a year so I think the warranty is out. I do have insurance on it though.
EDIT: Ok, my problem is solved for now. I took the sim card out and with it out turned the phone on (same problem), but after turning the phone off and putting the sim card back in, I now have the screen back. I'm gonna see if I can get this phone replaced.

then i placed it on top of my laptop..
after some 15 mins.. i heard some weird noise from it..
it seemed to be possessed.. vibrations is audible.. then i checked the phone... the touched screen is not working at first.. so i turned the mobile off..
then i turned it back on.. the touch screen works fine... responsive as it always..but when i press the soft keys it stopped working
any idea how this happned??
is there any way to fix this???
ideas would be greatly appreciated
Button savior / virtual button bar.
Your digitizer is dieing/dying.
Or maybe another problem. When I replaced mine, the first I got it was like yours, my buttons didn't work so I got around with button savior. The second one i got work flawless.
Good luck.

thanks for the reps dude... really appreciate it..
i think its the digitizer... but i think its kinda weird that the screen works flawlesly.. its just that the softkeys recognize the touch its just the area whose reacting is on the top of the soft keys.. but the entire screen is really responsive..
it's the digitizer
on my milestone it started with the back button not responding and yesterday it died completely. at least the ghost touches are almost gone but now the whole display is not responding. good thing we have a hardware keyboard
Same problem, touching the button area and the digitizer recognized as touching the upper area.
Thanks.
I was suspecting the connector as the digitizer was new, or it supposed to be, but now I know.

[Q] Screen's backlight flickering...

I bought an HTC Desire C on Cricket the other day and the touch screen didn't work in the middle of the phone. I went to exchange it and the new phone has been working flawlessly until I noticed something VERY annoying. When I press the power button or let the screen timeout, the blacklight flickers on for about half a second or so, and then goes off again. My girlfriend got the same phone and hers did not do the same thing. I don't know if it is a hardware or software issue but it annoys me so much. If anyone knows of a fix, it would be greatly appreciated.

Verizon LG G2 Screen Issues... NOT the turn on then off issue

I have recently purchased this phone via swappa and haven't had any issues prior to this and that has been three weeks (other than a light leak).
The issue that is happening is the LCD will not turn on. When the phone is unlocked via knock on or power button you can move your finger over where the lock circle would be and feel the vibrations showing that it does register the touch. Then usually I would just hold the power button till it rebooted and this would sometimes fix the problem, on a side note the boot LG logo and boot animation do not show up during this time simply the lock screen would randomly appear.
That is problem, now on to what I tried to fix it. I have put on an entirely different rom and the problem persists, I have also flashed a different kernel on the stock rom with no avail. I at first thought it could be due to a faulty proximity sensor, but the last time the screen was on I checked it with sensor box. One way I have been able to reproduce the problem is after locking it putting it in my pocket and waiting around five minutes, this then will make it so the LCD does not turn on ( Which makes it seem like it has something to do with deep sleep). Also something I just found since I was actually able to find the power off button, the screen also won't turn on when the phone is off and plugged into the charger (this makes it seem like hardware issue). It seems like as long as I keep the phone from going to deep sleep the LCD will turn back on.
Some of this makes it seem like a software issue other things make it seem like a hardware issue. I just was wondering if anyone had any ideas or if I need to buy a new screen, if the mobo is bad, or if I could fix this with software. Any and all ideas are welcome.
Thank you all in advance.

Capacitive Keys Unresponsive

Hi all,
The last day of warranty passes and my capacitive buttons back and recent buttons stop working. They were weirdly blinking few days back but never to an extent that i though would be a problem. I dropped the phone on carpet, phone is working fine now but the capacitives are unresponsive. No lights at all and 95% of the time unresponsive. They start working at a certain angle or when I tap at the bottom from behind and randomly stop working. Did all the software changes and also changed the ROM, nothing has worked. Can this be fixed without taking apart the full motherboard( i dont mind opening up the back and fixing a connection inside, if I know what I am looking for)? Is there anyway to fix this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah seems like a hardware issue. Why dont you take it to samsung for a repair apart from the warranty. Dont go to a local repair shop.
