Hi,
When I connect my Xperia Z to my pc and copy files to the SD card or Internal memory my phone restarts.
Any input on this?
Also happened to me once or twice
This issue also happened to me, I "fixed" the problem by setting the USB connection to mass storage.
I use the Sony bridge for Mac and have a 64Gb (fat32 formatted) sandisk ultra card, which still unmounts sometimes when writing to it in mass storage mode. I was hoping a new firmware update would fix this but I have an unbranded UK model, so I'm still waiting on the newer firmware updates.

Hello, this is my firt post and i need help!
Now when i connect in kies mode the phone keeps mounting and unmouting the Sd cards! and hangs in starting, doesnt get recognised by keys. This issues only occurs in kies mode and not in mass storage. Could it be related to kies, the usb port or phone?
Thanks

Ok, I've tested in another pc and it does the same: keeps mounting and unmouting both sd cards and stays in starting to kies without connect to kies... So i thinks it's not kies itself or usb ports... Is there anything wrong with the phone or it's something i installed to? (before the problems it disconnected by mistake from kies then I got a damaged internal sd card info and external sd card corruption, but both are working fine and I didn't get that notification anymore...). What can i do? Shall a format solve this?
Formated the internal sd and nothing... but wait... removed the external sd card and voilá! it now works!!!
Odd. I know there's a bug in kies that won't let you connect if you have media files with more then 16 letters. That could be reason. Check your files and rename them. Also do a format the SD car dwith your phone in settings. Unmount then format. That should also help

Ok, it's doing the same again, with or without external sd... So i realy don't know what's appening!
Be sure to use the latest kies , it's a kies bug , but i am prety sure that the latest one has it fixed .
Hi
until last night whenever I plugged in the O2X to my PC I got 2 different partitions up for the SD card.
today only one SD partition shows up. the other partition, that I used to save music etc. does not.
Android can read it as I can still access my music. But on my PC I cant get it to show up anylonger.
Would anyone know why?
SD card
I have a mostly similiar problem. Today a connect my P990 to PC via USB and it cant mount my SD card. I tried everything and I figured out that the problem isnt in my PC but in phone is something wrong... Normally the android is mount sd card and it works fine just, when I plug phone to pc via usb is cant load sd card, its mount only internal memory. I really disapointed and I dont know whats wrong :/ sorry for my bad english.
problem solved:
just had to remove the card and re-insert it.
sorry for that easy fix, im kinda new and didnt think of it first.

my internal sd shows 5.5GB is that normal? I thought 8GB was the internal storage capacity. Please enlighten!

I already format the card on fat32 by my pc. then formatted it on the device but the message still appears. I have tried another sd card 8 gb and the same problem any body know what to do to let it work. Thank you

Try rebooting the phone!
Dear fellow members,
My Xperia Z has had trouble reading my sd card every now and then (as described in other threads), however on one rainy day it decided that the card was not recognizable anymore and that it was either blank or that the file system was unreadable.
It is a 'Sandisk Micro SD HC Class 10 8gb' card. My question is the following:
Is it somehow possible to read the sd card on my computer through my Xperia Z through USB cable? Can you force to use your pc to read the contents of the card, or can the pc only read what the Xperia Z can read?
I don't have an adapter, and no one that I know has one either (or has had to use it). I am pretty sure my pc will be able to read the contents, where my mobile phone (Xperia Z) fails.
Anyone? Or any tips and/or tricks that do not require an adapter?
You need a phone or a device that can mount the SD card to Windows as a removable storage device. Then, you need a piece of software like Recuva or R-Studio to scan the card and restore what can be restored.
Hi,
I connected my phone to the PC via USB and I fully formatted the internal SD as FAT32.
Now my phone doesn't see the internal SD anymore...
Any tips plz?
Have you tested the format with your device (android itself) ???

Hi, I fixed this by reverting to frodo and then back to CM.
I had to repartition my phone... I also couldn't format it anymore..
