Hello
Last sunday i was taking pictures of my kids.
All pictures were saved on my external SD card.
For some reason my SD card stopped working, even the card was not yet two months old.
I tried several programs to recover or format the card to retrieve my pictures again, but no luck.
I tried chkdsk nothing worked. Even i tried to mount / format the SD card in the Phone by using the recovery mode ( rooted Phone )
Is there a way / tool to still recover my pictures???
Thnx people would mean a lot to me!!!
Ray

I had my phone tell me that the card was corrupted, and it wouldn't read in the PC. I formatted in the PC, then used Recuva which managed to find all the photos on my card despite the format. YMMV though. Once it was done I formatted again in the phone, and copied the pictures back. No issues since.
And if you do manage to recover them, I highly recommend using dropbox. it saved me not long ago when my sd card corrupted.

Hi,
My phone is not able to detect my SD card, All i did was copy a file from a friends laptop using HTC Desire HD data cable... Now my phone wont detect the SD card... Internal memory is detected normally... The SD card is detected normally on my friends Phone, however its not working on mine...
I though it was a software issue, so I reflashed stock JVQ and then Darky's ROM however it still wont show... Any other SD card is detected normally on my Phone, however mine wont get detected no matter what i do...
Any ideas what happened... I only copied a video file... I've even deleted the file and tried however it still doesn't work...
Pls Help!!!
have you checked to see if the card is mounted?
Did u try rescan sdcard?

Press thanks if this helps
Does it read in a PC?
If so copy contents off onto PC, reformat SD card as FAT32, then copy contents back over.
Try to format the card on your PC.

I've got the card formatted on my friends phone and then gave it an shot... however it still didn't work... Not sure what else can be done... any other card works fine...
What company and class is your sd card?
same problem.
I've had the same problem. It seems to occur when you disconnect the USB cable from you're phone while files are being transferred. Though I've also had this problem multiple times when the USB cable wasn't even connected to my phone.
You can try to use a microSD-to-usb-converter to backup the files and format it with 'SD Formatter 3.0' from sdcard.org (I'm not permitted to post links yet). Then try to format the microSD again with you're phone and it should work. I recommend you don't put any backupped files back on your microSD since they could have corrupted the microSDcard's filesystem.

Hey guys,
Did a search and didn't really find an answer.
A couple of days ago my Nook all of a sudden doesn't recognize my HP 16gb SD card. So I took it out, rebooted the Nook and everything was fine again.
Now this morning it doesn't see the SD card again and now it's telling me that the SD card is damaged. I can't even do a Titanium Backup because it can't get to the file on the SD card. Is there anything I can do or is my SD card hosed? I'd HATE to lose all the stuff I have on the card.
Sounds like you are running a bootable SD. Can you boot into recovery if you put the sd in and use power + n? If so you might be able to make a nadroid backup.
Have you tried the card in a pc and is it recognized that way? If so you might be able to pull your last backup file off of the card. It might not be everything you have now but depending on how often you backup could get you most of the way there.
If you can get a backup either way, save it to your pc format the card start from scratch and then use the backup to restore to where you want to be. It is a good idea to make frequent backups and save them to a secondary location (e.g. dropbox or the pc) for this very reason.

No I'm not running a bootable card. The only way I even noticed that something was wrong was when I couldn't access my books with the Nook app. I'll try reading the card on my PC when I get home from work today.
I'm getting the same thing here. 8GB and not booting from card.

Try to find some way of throwing it into a computer. See if a friend has A media card reader and a micro sd to sd adapter. If that doesn't work you might be sol. You should still be under warranty so you can get a replacement. Backing up important information though is a priority though. No matter what, back up

I had the same thing recently. The computer could see the card and even the files at first but couldn't do anything with them. After I gave up on copying the files off the card I tried to format and that wouldn't work either. I hope you guys have better luck than I did.
Hi guys.
I've got an original 16gb Lexar, Class 10, bought on Amazon. My software is Gingerbread 2.3.3.
A few days ago I got a "Blank SD Card" error. The only solution seemed to be the format of the card. I have put the card into a card reader in my computer to try and get the data back, but all I managed to recover was some pictures from my holiday (I used a program for that). The card was in RAW state. I couldn't format it with my phone (nothing happened when I did) so I formatted it using my computer. I also did a factory reset to start from a scratch.
The same error appeared today morning. I did the same thing, but I insalled only trusted and well known apps such as Go Locker, Zedge and Fancy widgets. Everything was fine up to now - I didn't get an error this time, but everything on my card has been deleted (only the system folders such as DCIM and Android are on it, but there's nothing inside of them). All the application installed on my card are unavailable.
I'll be grateful for any help, I have no idea what to do. :crying:
Thanks,
Draggy
Edit: It's a Micro SDHC card of course, sorry for the mistake.
Are you sure it's a legit card?
Check if there is holographic stickers or anything that mark the product genuine.

Try some free data recovery software. Google it, and use a card reader on your PC to help, but it does not look good.
Thanks for your reply.
Ive actually did that and got trolled by this program. After scanning all the files, it asked me to purchase the program in order to get the files back. I got fed up and reformatted the sd card and start from scratch.
Right now I'm facing one issue. After putting stuff back into the sd card, I unplugged it and the sd card un mounted itself. I pulled it out and plug it back in with restart and all and the phone still cant read it.
Is it the sd card problem or my phone?
Or what else should I do?
Thanks on advance.

There are plenty of good free ones that dont do that, however, if you have now formatted the card all the information is lost.
Which format did you format it too? Make sure its FAT or EXT2, 3 or 4. The best bet is to format it in recovery.
I knew it would be a problem if I reformat it, but I was really fed up certain programs like those. I didn't want to waste time so I chose to reformat it.
My first attempt with FAT didn't work, and tried the others as well.
This morning I reformatted and stick it into the phone and erased every thing on the sd through the phone again. And now it seems to work fine.
Somehow the first few tries the phone reformatted the sd even when I did it through the computer already.
Anyway, thanks alot buddy
Sorry for my poor English.

If you don't find other solution, put the card in an adaptor and just copy them to the PC.
Have you by chance deleted a folder called external SD from your memory card, coz it formats your sd card. Try recovering files from sd card through connecting it via some other usb card reader.
there are programs, that can save the photos even if you format a disk or in this case a sd card...
let me find one for you,,,, don't know if it works...read in here...
http://www.easeus.com/resource/sd-card-format-recovery.htm.
of course there must be other programs better and free, I really don't know if this easeus is of any good...
never tried...
you must have a sd card reader in your pc of course...
thx guys
i tried to use other adapter and i find no change as i still can not found the sd card via pc.
i sure that i have not delete the file of external SD, it keep showing Blank SD on my 4x.
i am really frustrated about that...:crying:
Maybe sdcard got corrupted. Try formating the card from your phone if it gives you the option. I dont think this will be repeated.
sad..
in fact i dun care about do the sd card can function after all.
i just wonder can i get back my file:crying::crying:

may be your sd card has corrupted or it is fake, how long are you using it?
once i bought a fake 16gb card it worked good for few days and then the same situation as you are in. and i found no solution to recovery my files as it becomes strange, files are there but you can't use them anymore, can't delete them or copy them.
try using some partition manager after inserting your card into your pc and check if your card is there, and it's status.
if your card is fake, i have no solution,
if it's corrupted, it can be brought back to life by formatting or using other partition recovery tools i think.
i dun know whether it is fake or not, but i have used it for around half a year already.
i dun care whether it can come alive i just want to get back my data.
today i have send the sd card to a engineer, he said he fix it but it cost a large amount of money and i am not able to afford it.
and then he recover the sd card to the original situation.
it means that there must be a solution for it.
can anyone help:crying:
i had the same problem too. my 32GB went on and off after i dropped it from 1 meter high.
i used these two recover as much as my files as possible.
