Hi ,, didn't find nothing about partitioning the internal memory of the Htc One
i read about partitioning sd card, but i'm unsure cause there is no sd card slot on the Htc One..
i would like to have a 5 gig partition to put stuff that i don't want to lose every time i change my rom...
so my question is : is it possible to partition the Htc One's internal memory ? if yes witch guide do i have to follow ?
thanks a lot
)
You don't need a partition for that, unless you specifically wipe the media folder, it should stay put.

Im getting a bigger memory card for g1. Have Cyanogen 4.2.15.1 Do i have to format the new card for everything to work or just pop it in. Backed up sd card on laptop. Any answers appreciated. thanx ( by forma ti mean wipe partition card and such)
You're going to have to, at the very least, format it to FAT32 so that you can actually use it. Second, you will have to make an ext2, 3 or 4 partition if you want Apps2sd to work. Setting a 3rd partition for swap would be up to you if you decide to use it or try a hero rom in the future. Look at the current partitions on the memory card you use and just create similar partitions for the new memory card. You will also have to copy your current ext2, 3 or 4 partition to your new memory card if you currently have Apps2sd enabled on your current rom because that is where all the apps are stored.
thanx
i figured i would but just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the reply and you guys do such a great job that i wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you guys do.
Am a newbie to the whole G1 scene, but got some questions regarding partioning.
What is the whole purpose of partioning your SD card?
What are the benefits of doing this?
What is EXT2, EXT3 and whichever you choose what does that give you?
Thanks.
On a normal SD card, there is a FAT32 partition for storing your music, photos etc.
If you are using a custom rom, you can add either or both of these partitions to your sdcard:
-SWAP this lets the phone use part of the sdcard as ram when the phone ram runs out.
-EXT2/3/4 this lets you install apps on the sdcard instead of installing it on the meager memory of the phone.
That has cleared a few things up for me - Cheers.
i am using the cyanogen mod and have been installing apps to my sd card thru "managing applications". However, i found out that not all of the data is being transferred and some are still left on the internal phone storage. As u guys alr noe, the milestone has very little phone storage, so my phone storage are still quite full at times.
I've seen threads regarding partitioning the sd card so to install the apps to it. Does this really work? I mean is it better than the one mentioned above?
Can someone help with this? I'm new to partitioning so can anyone help by giving step by step instructions, or simply just justify whether this whole partitioning thing works.
Thx in advance
You may give Titanium Backup a try - it can force-move apps from internal memory to SD and vice versa. Long-tap onto the app-> move to sd (or similar, got a german one )
//EDIT: partitioning the sd card is called "app2sd" - there're scripts for this, but with memhack etc. I have enough memory for the moment, so I don't use it
Hi there,
I tried a bit with the swap memory but now is my question how can i delete the swap memory partition ?
my internal sd card is not 5,5 GB anymore it's 5.27GB
and my 32GB got 29,2 GB instead of 29,7 or something.
I tried to mount with MiniTool but it shows no Partition on the sd card or the mobile phone sd card.
sorry for my bad english
somebody got a solution ?
thanking you in anticipation...
Edit: I wanted to make a backup of my ROM but got an error at the end of backing up data because of the swap file...
Thats the main reason why i want to remove the swap memory...
I tried with KNOPPIX...
hey a friend told me that swap couldn't be read by windows so i tried with GParted from Knoppix but this didn't solve my problem.. sd card is still smaller than it should be and also with Linux i can't see any Partition on the SD Card..
I want to delete the swap files to be able to make a backup again...
somebody got an idea ??
please help me...
HELP!!!
Can somebody help me please ??
How can I restore my original capacity of my sd card and my internal memory ?

and my microsd card is 0,5 GB smaller...
with partition managers i can't see any partition on the sdcard or the internal memory...
would be great if somebody can help me..
Hey does nobody know how i can delete the Swap Memory Partition/File I set up with NOVA HD ROM??
Problem is that i can't see any Partition or swap file...
Need Help!!
I don't know whether this question has already been asked here but since I'm a newbie and this Droid 4 is my only Android phone (all others are Windows Phones), I'd like to ask this one:
I performed the partition of my phone's memory and split it 50/50 so that I could boot into the stock ROM if something would go wrong with CM11 updates. Not the wisest move since I'm not using that stock ROM at all
OK, the memory of my phone (where I'm running CM11) is running out so therefore I'd need to know:
1) Is there a way to modify the partition afterwards without losing any information from the memory of my phone?
2) Is there a way to move apps from phone's internal memory and SD card (a.k.a. sd card 0) to an external SD card (a.k.a. sd card 1)? I have 64Gb micro SD where I could move lots of stuff if I'd only know how.
And my apologies if this question has already been asked here.
try foldermount from playstore...
I'm fully aware of that app but it's not free.
Any other choices???
well i can only recommend Foldermount since im using it myself and the basic features are free and satisfy my needs fully.
but hey, the full version costs only ~2 dollars or so...
