Hi, I was just wondering. Some review sites say that the Mini's lockscreen has the same water ripple effect as the original S3, but I can seem to find where to enable it? All I have is the animation for unlock that looks a bit like from the Tab's swipe lock screen, Honeycomb like animation effect.
It was there in 4.1.1, but with update to 4.1.2 is gone. But it can be easy enable, just look in apps and theme section or use google how to do it

I've been using BenzROM v6 that restores that functionality. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119219 if you want to look)
this is why there is a search function on these forums
the other thing is that we seem to have a lot of users registering just to post questions that have already been asked and answered

My boss and I are having a little debate/bet:
I argued to him that the screen off animation (like the old tube style tv television turning off) was PURPOSELY animated so that the colors appear to separate as the animation progresses before the screen turns off, while HE insists that this effect was not intentional, and only looks that way because that's how screens work..
Does anyone have a definitive answer on this? I'm 99% sure that I'm right I just cant prove it with fact..
Thanks!
LOL hehe sure its just animation Ask him where he saw phones with CRT display ? And why on so many phones before Gingerbread release they didn`t go off like that? And after flash Gingerbread they did HTC unfortunatelly removed that animation in their SENSE roms :/ So we still have no animation on gingerbread I wish i had display which goes off like that Its very nice effect novadays for people who remember those old TVs
I lol'd too hard.
Back at the time when I was running CM 6.1 on the pattern unlock screen it had the option of hiding the dots that make up the pattern. (so all there was was the time and the message saying draw pattern to unlock). The text could be changed too, it looked nice and added a bit of security as it would be obvious to most people that you had to draw the pattern.
Basically my question is can this be added to normal roms and if so where can I find it.?
Thanks in advance
Your post title seems different & the question in your post is different...
What do you want to ask exactly?
Pattern Lock is available in all stock roms and you can hide the visible pattern without any tweaking.
On CM6 there was an option to hide the dots. and customise the message
So the unlock screen from the clock downwards was just clear.
I know you can hide the pattern.
I want what is being requested here but wanted to know if it will work with other roms besides CM...
So the lock screen looks like this (but with the wallpaper behind rather just black) http://i.imgur.com/PB4bN.jpg
Hmmm, I don't think there is any tweak like that (you're asking) for stock roms.
May b some Mod could help you...
Never mind found the images and swapped them in my framework...
For anyone else thats looking for this there is metamorph theme for it here... http://www.mediafire.com/file/49948a4mvigvbkq/InvisibleLockscreen_MM.zip
I didn't feel like using meta morph
And just to confirm it works like a charm...
Next step to change the text
Forgive me if this has been covered, but I did a search in the Note forums and came up empty. I know how to change wallpapers, themes, etc. and I am using widget locker. How do I change that screen that comes up when the Note first boots up? --the one with the feather pen on it... I am using code unlock too and after I "wigdet unlock", I get the feather wallpaper on the next screen to do my code unlock. This is totally incompatible with the brushed metal theme I have going everywhere else.
I am not rooted yet, because I just got the whole thing straightened out with at&t this morning. Thanks in advance for any help.
I was having difficulty with this too. I remember in my GSII there was a setting where you could actually change the lock screen wallpaper. There is no such setting on the note from what I could see.
However this is how I was able to change the lock screen wallpaper.
1. Download the wallpaper you want
2. Go to the gallery and select the image
3. There should be a menu item called 'set as' which has an option to set it as wallpaper or lock screen wallpaper.
That's how I got rid of the stock feather and ink lock screen wallpaper.
Woo! That worked. I feel dumb for not trying that. I was making it overly complex, lol.
Thanks!

You can also go to Settings - Display - Screen display, and it will give options for changing lockscreen wallpaper, clock and weather.
Hey guys,
I love my HTC One but awfully hate the black pattern lock screen.
Is there a Chance to mod it so i can change the wallpaper of the pattern lock screen or perhaps make it transparent?
I tried out the go locker but unfortunately thats not so battery friendly.
I would be very thankful if someone can help me with that.

Yeah, same for the app-draw would be nice.
I tried unpacking the APK for sense but the framework stuff didn't all decompile. I don't fancy re-packing it on the offchance (assuming I found what to change) and bricking my device

it seems that no one knows a solution for this kinda problem
so i have to use go locker again
the app draw transparency you can also get with a launcher like nova launcher
Those lockscreens(pattern, face unlock, pin & password) came with google's default framework. No OEM vendor is allowed to alter those parts of android at all. So request this on google itself.
I want to purchase a Galaxy Note 8. Before I do, I want to make absolutely, 100% certain that I can remove the clock from the lockscreen on the Galaxy Note 8.
Please read that again. I said lockscreen, not AOD (Always On Display). There are tons of threads on the internet and on XDA where people don't read the thread and them make recommendations on how to change the clock on the AOD. I am talking about the lockscreen.
I've seen references to installing an APK or a theme that will remove it or make it transparent, thus making it invisible.
Can anyone please share if they've been able to remove the clock from the lockscreen completely, and how they went about doing it? I would even be fine with a Samsung theme.
Thanks!

I don't know if it will work with Samsung overlays, but it worked fine on my previous Nexus 6P

You can use Lock Clean on Samsung without root. You need Substratum, the Samsung add on and Lock Clean. But it hasn't been updated for the Note 8, when you open the app it says install all options but there are no options to install yet. When it's updated it will take the clock off of the lock screen. I've been using it on my S8+ for that very reason.

Thank you so much for confirming! :good:
I am definitely aware of that app, Lock Clean. It's just that it says [ROOT], so I wasn't absolutely sure if it would work if the phone wasn't rooted. You've pretty much confirmed it for me.
Note 8, here I come!!!

As I said it's not been updated for the Note 8 yet.

Right, I got that. The point is it works for your S8, so it's just a matter of the app getting updated, which is most definitely going to happen. Good for me either way.
