[Q] Need your Opinions! - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys,
My Gnex just died on me and I am considering this phone for my next buy. Is it worth the buy?
Just give me a small account of your thoughts about the phone. Would help me immensely in deciding the next phone I should get.
Cheers!

Great battery, I could get 6 and a half hour surfing and stuff with 3G on, very fast phone, great build quality, absolutely love the disco bar.
Not so that in love with tiny speaker, camera. Just a bit above average.

I've been using IncS for just over a year now. I still think my phone is pretty good and fast for me. Now with ICS, it's even better. I believe it can at least last for another year.
Changed phone to one x. Nice ICS.

Was all in for one s but found the coating chipped problem on the black version, so decide to wait and see.
To me, give my IS duo core, a little better camera (It's already quite good), I will be happily stick with it for another year, it is just so overall nice compare to other phone.

Duo/Quad core with slightly better GPU and I'll use it for another 3 years.
My phone is currently with HTC service for changing USB port /mainboard. Depending on the condition it comes back,I'm sticking with my current phone.
Edit.
I mean I intend to stick with my IncredibleS. Served me well for a year, still has good value & mileage to last for another year, easily.

I've had this phone for close to a year n still not bored with it. Anyone who sees it always has something good to say bout it. Personally I feel it is a very well manufactured phone n with ics it shud b the best performer in its segment cos I heard ics is freakingly stable!!

I just got my phone back from HTC, I sent it in because my power button was a bit dodgy, and my warranty is running out
Anyway I got it back, more than a month later, and it had a new motherboard, s-on with HBOOT 2.00.000
I had planned to sell it, and buy an Evo 3D, but after I took pictures for ebay, I decided to keep it, and I downgraded and rooted it
As soon as ICS arrives, I will be happy

Like everyone would ask!! If you used your one x as much you use incredible s daily what is the battery life you get??

Nexus Family is one of the best candidates.
My friend moved from InS to Galaxy Nexus for a month, And he told me that he wouldn't buy any other brand but Nexus.
The only current phone I would upgrade to would be the One S, and right now I have no plans to retire my Incredible S for the foreseeable future.

Well my IncS sure had a better battery life.
I would like my onex's battery to last longer, but I can live with it.
And the speed and smoothness is so much greater on this one. And I am running completely stock and not even rooted.
Also I am one of the lucky ones having almost none of the reported issues with the OneX.
So its clearly an upgrade I would recommend

Nexus is a good phone but the money u pay for it is not what u get ...earlier nexus were great and up to the mark but the recent one is just plain odd for a flagship phone!! Hope HTC makes the next nexus! And I recently had a chance to use the xperia s .. must say for the price I was impressed and it has a pretty good battery life!!

The rezound is a Verizon US only phone.
My contract ends this time next year :/
IMO the galaxy s 3 looks ugly, if I wanted something else I would get a one s
It just looks good, fast, and cos the one x is too big

AT&T didnt spend anything. They just wanted the phone to be cheaper so they could follow their marketing strategy
.
We were supposed to have a 2300mAH battery, 2GB RAM, an NFC chip and webtop os.
AT&T already has IPhones, SGS3, and HTC One X still costing $150-$200
They had the price reduced on the Atrix HD to get more new customers.
Also they cut back the hardware so it wouldnt take away from their Samsung & Apple Sales since those two companies seemed to be favored by AT&T.
That would have made a better product for consumers. Who cares if it makes their original phone choice harder. At&t sucks a big one period.

The bigger battery would be nice. Nfc for me isnt a big deal and 2 gb ram might help i never tested it when i had the s3 this phone is like the perfect fit for me i liked bigger screens but were unnecessary the battery so far isnt great but i just got it so it might take a bit to get going. I have the battery extender on.

Well bigger battery could be nice as well as better charge time.... i dont know how may amp the charger is but it feels like it takes for ever to charge my phone and standby time is not as good as i expected!!! Apart from that i love this phone!!!

Upgrade from Arc.

Hey guys,
I want to buy a new phone and im thinking of buying the Xperia T. What's important for me is the batterylife and the screen. Ive got an arc at the moment and i know the sony screens are awesome so i.dont worry about that. But the battery life,.is there any ex-arc user here? Is the battery life better or worse? I use 3G all day and i mostly get through the day with 3.5 hours of screen usage with the arc. Can the xperia t give me the same result?

I dont really go into all this battery life stuff, but rest assured I have data and wifi and blutooth on all the time. Display is on its brightest, sync is on its most frequent and I use/flash a lot with it.
I have no complaints

I upgraded from an Arc S. XperiaT is better in everyway. With regards to battery life, my Arc S would last about a day where as my XperiaT easily lasts 2-3days with a fair about of music(speaker, bluetooth, ear phones), photographs, bit of web browsing, all syncing on.

The HTC One

Hey guys I'm in need of an upgrade and I think the HTC One is the answer!
I was wondering if you could please give me feedback on your experience so far.
All I know about the cons like
Can't change battery
No SD card...
So how is the battery life etc??
Thanks

Read through all the posts in General and you'll get your information. Like I tell everyone, buy the phone because you want it, not because someone else sold it to you.
The storage is just enough for me. It would be nice to have a sd card slot though. Battery life lasts 12 hours for me on a regular day. Matters how much you use it of course. The main thing that sold me on the phone was Sense.

Have it and don't recommend. I'd wait for the next nexus. I've been disappointed with the camera on the One. 2nd One with camera issues, purple and/or red tint. Otherwise solid phone.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Pros: great screen, front speakers are awesome, nice build, fast, great front camera, good size, great reception, awesome in red, I like the notification LED
Cons: back camera sucks compared most other phones (pictures are pixelated), battery life could be better but it's manageable, charges really slow
Noted: You quickly adapt to the lack of a menu button, takes great pics in the dark, Sense is probably the best skin available, the TV app is really useful.
Verdict: Not bad for a "phone", I think i would have personally liked the S4 better. My 14 year old daughter has one too and loves it.I'll be getting the Note 3 once its affordable and selling this one.
Have one, don't recommend. HTC refuses to pay attention to details such as build quality. It refuses to fix the purple tint issue. The camera is overrated. The battery life is only decent. You can't get S-off on certain hboots.
Wait for the Nexus 5. It looks freaking sweet.

Wait it out bro. This phone is 5 months old and hasn't smelled an update. You have to worry about pink camera issue, the build quality gamble, and who knows if 32gb is enough for you. Wait it out instead of jumping so quickly
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4
I, personally, love mine. No camera issue, fast as hell, and we haven't seen an update to 4.2.2 because HTC is jumping right to 4.3 within the next couple weeks.
I've not had a better smart phone experience and I owned a RAZR HD and a galaxy s iii
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I love my HTC One. Like everyone else said, the battery could be better but I'm running complete stock so maybe a custom ROM would help the battery. As for the camera issue, HTC said that they would fix it with the 4.3 update so I wouldn't worry about that. The only thing is that this phone is I think five months old so if you really want a HTC phone, then go for it. I would take this over the S4 and the next Nexus mainly because of HTC Sense. And the specs are as good as the competitors so it all comes down to preference of UI and features. My One has never frozen on me and I've had it for two months. Great phone and would definitely recommend it. Let us know what you decide!
EDIT: Sorry I got off track and forgot to answer your questions. The battery lasts me about 10-11 hours but that's on stock. The storage is more than enough to have for another two years. And like I said, my One has never frozen on me so no need for a battery pull. And I'm sure that HTC made the charging of the phone take longer to conserve the overall life of the battery but mine charges pretty fast. It's not slow but it's not super fast either.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium
This phone uses the older generation of Gorilla glass, people from the Taiwan forums are reporting that the 4.3 update doesn't fix the camera tint, and I get around 14 hours battery life with moderate use. This phone is already outdated and you would be a fool to pay $600 for it when there are much better phones just around the corner.

General Question

So my Note 3 is 2 months old and I have decided it's just too damn big for normal use. Thinking about the Moto x. How is the camera on Kit Kat? And how is battery life? And how does the 720p screen really look? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
Screen is fine. Camera compared to the s4 is not good.
Sent from my XT1060 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
My opinion.... I've played with them all, and the Moto x is the most refined phone I've used. Yes, the camera isn't the best out there, but I'm of the opinion that it is a phone, not a camera. Its fine for capturing moments spur of the moment.... But if I know I'm going somewhere and want lots of nice pics..... I use my camera.
Opinions will vary. Greatly. Lol
Sent from my Moto X cell phone telephone.....
Battery life is good, unrooted with location services, voice controls all etc turned on I get 1 day+ with 3-4 hours of screen time. I also typically do an hour or two of music or bluetooth too.
Compared to Note3 the camera is not as good in many situations but its good enough to be happy with the pics I take of my kids and whatnot. I have a better digital camera but prefer the phone for convenience. The double wrist flick to launch the camera is genius and I use it often.

Development will take off when google stops updating us... For now, most use xposed. It can do anything a custom rom can pretty much, and stock leaves little room for improvement.
