Hi guys, I have looked around but still find the guides confusing for unrooting the H3G HTC One (I'm from the UK), the main reason I am confused is that I see there a different versions of HTC One - such as International, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile. Then I looked at a thread where it said World Wide English .401 (I think it was) is that the firmware I want, or is there another? I have been on HTCDev and have downloaded the H3G version of the RUU, but whenever I see people do it on YouTube they all seem to have an *.exe that they open and it does the process for them.
I have looked for posts similar to this but haven't been successful, so any help is thanked.
Thank you

My apologies if this question has been posted already, I have however searched/read here as well as the internet and my eyes are ready to pop out!
I am in Canada on the Bell network with an unlocked HTC One phone purchased from pdaplaza.ca, here are the specs:
HTC One 801s
Model: PN0714000
CID: HTC_622
Version: M7_UL_JB_50
Android ver: 4.1.2
Rom/Software ver: 1.29.708.16
Build: htc_asia_hk/m7/m7:4.1.2
I would just like to get confirmation from anyone else with same phone whether or not they have received the OTA update of Android 4.2.2? From what I've read, the updates have rolled out to Asian markets, UK, Europe etc etc and I don't find anyone from Hong Kong *****ing about "no update" yet, which leads me to believe it has. If so then maybe their is something wrong with my phone. I am contemplating S-OFF, change model ID and CID etc, but would prefer to avoid any potential headaches.
While I'm here, has there been any confirmation on this variant having the 700MHz LTE band and if so being able to unlock and activate? Perhaps having LTE speeds may be worth the potential headaches!
Thanks, any clarification would be greatly appreciated!
Same phone model, same CID and still no update yet. Using the phone in China mainly.

OK thanks Mr. Dutchman, I guess I'll keep waiting a bit longer......one of the downsides of owning an HTC, always freakin' waiting waiting for updates!!!
I have just bought the Same version of htc one just like yours 801s from 2 days ago and yes i received the 4.2.2 ota and updated:crying: and it updated my hboot also to 1.54 which doesnt have s-off till now ... So if you want s-off just s-off now on hboot 1.44 than update ota
But i dont know anything about the lte ?!
Mine is exact the same model as OP's phone, no updates yet. Just checked with and without VPN connection, both say no updates yet. I am not too concerned about it yet but it would be nice if we know when we are going to get what. My phone is working just fine as it is right now but not knowing if and when we get what is not really what I expected from HTC but who know, maybe we skip 4.2.2 entirely? patience I guess.....
An update or roll-out plan + schedule who is getting what and when would be the way to go, not knowing what is going on is not but as I said, my phone is working fine - no issues right now after 2 factory resets due to music player not seeing added music files and Wi-Fi connection problems. It's all good now.
Finally HERE!!!
Happy to report that I just pinged server for update and it is FINALLY here (downloading now). As others have stated, small pre-curser update before main update which is software version: 2.24.708.4 (427.18MB). Please note this is with my stock phone (specs at beginning of post), I have not made any CID etc alterations. Will follow up if anything weird happens.
Thanks for input ya'll.
Got it too just now, all OK and no issues at all. If any issues later on I will follow up here.
Should have started this thread way earlier.....LOL
Hey guys, i have the htc one m7 im from Puerto Rico and i have it with the company CLARO, im trying to find a RUU or something that could change my phone to the original firmware of this phone. Cause in this Company CLARO they use some weird icons and apps that i dont like at all. another thing is that this phone is running android 4.1.2 and they havent send the new update yet and i know the factory unlocked versions are running android 4.3. I used to have the Galaxy s4 with this company Claro and the model was the canadian version of the Galaxy s4 phones and i did find the firmwares for it. But with the htc one im a little confused, Cause i cant find the exact version or model for my phone in the box all it says is Htc One And there is an id number and a P/N number as well. and if i go to the phone sethings about phone identity is says Phone name Htc One Model Number Htc One. So i dont know what kind of Ruu should work with this phone cause its not from tmobile or at&t so wich Ruu should i use??
Hello third time for a third question.
I want to flash an updated firmware for a Lumia 925, downloadable via Data Package Manager. But, according to Seidea website, the code description is like this: "059S8F0 RM-892 VAR ES ORANGE SL BLACK". Am I right assuming that this is a "branded" firmware by Orange? If I flash it to my phone, shall I end up with some Orange logo or whatever advertisement, or even bloatware? The thing is, I can't find any code not having some servide provider in its description: Orange, O2, Vodafone, Optus... all of them seem to be "branded" firmwares. Is this assumption right? And if it is, where the **** can I find an unbranded, clean firmware?
In any case, I wouldn't mind to try and flash one of these firmwares if I could first backup the one I have now. But is this possible? Nokia Care Suite is good for flashing ROMs, but I haven't found any option for backing up.
Does anybody have some idea about this?
Thanks in advance.
You can't backup your phone. You can download your current firmware with ncs and use that as your backup. Just make sure to zip up the files in your firmware directory first. Or if you mess up you can always redownload the firmware again using your product code.

Thanks for your answer. I guess I already got it, anyhow.

In the "description", if he mentioned Orange, O2, SFR or any operator then this is actually a branded ROM.
If, in the description, there is the CV (Country Variant) reference, then it is a not branded ROM = naked.
Example:
059V276 RM-937 VAR EURO FR CV BLACK => Not branded ROM.
059V2N6 RM-937 VAR EURO FR SFR BLACK SL => Branded ROM.
Thanks. I guess I already figured that out within the past two days of research.
P.S. to the forum administrators: I wish there could be a way for the OP to mark a thread as [SOLVED].
Hi, I have a a sprint version HTC One h-boot 1.44.0000 Unlocked with S-OFF. I am currently living in a GSM carrier country and as such i use a sim card from one of these providers. I currently only get a GSM data despite the fact that the phone supports up to LTE. I have read this is a Sprint model limitation.
I want to upgrade from the 4.1.2 that I am currently running to a 4.4.0? version. which roms can be flashed to my phone without it been soft bricked?
I have read alot but its kinda confusing. Please advise me accordingly.
Hello,
I bought a new HTC One (M7) in Switzerland for a Thai friend. When I turn on the phone, I can select a language in the list of the pull-down menu. The Thai language is missing in this list and I would to add this language.
1. Can I get the Thai language if I flash the phone with a firmware using ODIN?
2.a Which firmware should I use to get the Thai language, and where to download it? I would like to use the HTC official firmware, this one pre-installed in HTC One sold in Thailand.
2.b Same question for the Samsung Galaxy S4.
3. If I understood the guide below, a hard-reset* will not reset the phone to the original HTC firmware pre-installed on the phone when I bought it. Isn't it?
* After flashing the phone with another firmware.

Thanks in advance and regards.
ODIN? Is not that for Samsung? Not working with HTC.
But flashing a different ROM will solve your issue.
Point 3 is correct.
Though i don't think that official firmware for a different region can be flashed without modifying a couple of things in the phone. AFAIK you need S-OFF because of the CID and change it to a different one than current or to SuperCID.
CID stands for Customer ID. HTC implemented this check to prevent flashing other region firmwares. For example, if you have a phone which CID belongs to Singapore, you normally can't update ROM from other region like EURO/USA/CHINA etc. You've to use same region firmware. Remeber that, SIMLOCK is not related to CID, if you sim unlock a phone still you may not be able to flash other region ROM. But unlocking tools like XTC, HXC etc does CID unlock too as well as SIM unlock. To Determine your phone's CID I've made a small script. Download getcid.rar from attachment, extract, connect the phone to Computer in Fastboot Mode, run getcid.bat. It'll show phone's current CID.

In my opinion it's better to unlock the phone, flash custom recovery and flash a stock custom ROM (official).
I think WWE ROMs have Thai (see screenshot), if I'm correct.
