hey guys I'm really hoping you can help me with this problem Ive been having. I am an aspiring Developer trying to build my first ROM from CyanogenMOD Source. I am running Ubuntu 10.10, and am running CM6.1RC3 on my Droid. I have been following the steps from Cyanogen's wiki.
When I run this command
make -j`grep 'processor' /proc/cpuinfo | wc -l` CYANOGEN_WITH_GOOGLE=true otapackage
Click to collapse
It takes about 2 hours to run its course and does its thing, when its done I type this command
./vendor/cyanogen/tools/squisher
Click to collapse
I get this:
andrewUbuntu:~/android/system$ ./vendor/cyanogen/tools/squisher
/home/andrew/android/system/out/target/product/sholes/cyanogen_sholes-ota-eng.andrew.zip doesn't exist!
andrewUbuntu:~/android/system$

Am I missing something here? Ive been trying to build this for the past week or so and Im getting really close but then I keeping getting errors. I tried asking on Cyanogen's IRC channel but for some reason the IRC wouldnt let me talk in the Channel.

So what's the answer then ?!?
Hi all.i recently contacted a cyanogenmod developer and he told me that if we want cyanogenmod.
Quote from Jef.
"If a device is currently unsupported, there are two possible reasons as to why.
1.) If the device was previously supported and is no longer supported, this means the previous maintainer has either left the CM team, or has become to busy with their own life to continue the work.
2.) It is because there is not a developer on the CM team that is willing to take on the work to maintain it.
In either case, if you would like to see support for this device, the best thing to do would be to find a member of the community who is willing to work on this device. This person would need to create a properly working device folder, and submit it to us through our devrel initiative"

Useless thread! You could post his reply on discussion thread rather then creating a thread for it.
Someone tell this guy to read first the Rules and also learn how to post. Damn this is annoying! I see him everywhere! xD
Sorry bro, no hard feelings but just be a bit more careful.

You joined XDA 4 days ago and you have already created three threads to ask very basic questions. XDA is not a helpdesk for noobs - you will get help with genuine problems, but you need to either use the search function on XDA, read and learn or use Google for the basics. Everything you need to know is already out there, please don't expect people to constantly repost the same information over and over just because you are too lazy to put the effort in yourself.

Well you're right bout' that dude. I'll find information by myself from now on, thanks for telling me :good:
We all bought our devices for one reason or another but have came to XDA with the intention of making them better and some of us have done much more than try to fix tiny issues. I want to thank all who have and are developing Custom Roms for our device. If I have missed anyone who has contributed I compel you to write his name so I could add him along with a link if any! We should all know how hard it is to code. For some it's easy but for the most part it's hard work and people tend to forget that. I myself have started learning Python thanks to these people and a fairly recent show named Silicon Valley from cough* cough* 2014. So without further ado! Here are the people I want to thank and you could thank too if you haven't already in one way or another:
@haky 86 (including anyone who has helped) link to his ongoing process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8l...rom-cyanogen-mod-12-0-huawei-p8-lite-t3433523
@Olrak (including all omnirom devs who helped) link to his ongoing process:

@XePeleato (you know what I' going to write here >____>) link to his ongoing process:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-arrived-t3419852
A thanks to @sokkoban for making ever so slight but very useful changes to our stock emui roms. Link to some of his progress (I had to add his blogspot with his work since most of his threads here are deleted)
http://huaweip8lite.blogspot.bg/
I thank @dkonect for sharing once again the recovery needed for these roms which is developed again by XePeleato link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/twrp-3-0-0-0-p8-lite-kirin-t3343320
That includes me thanking haky 86 for giving us CWM but I put TWRP's link up there because it is currently the most used one for our device with full fearures. Pls don't kill me >___>...
And again a thank you to @hackslash (thank you for mentioning him) for helping everyone mentioned above and developing for honor 4C. (If you want to I could add someone here •___•). link to his ongoing process (if I haven't missed any):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-4c/development/cm13-huawei-honor-4c-based-hisilicon-t3367224
I'd like to then thank @codeworkx for even starting to and helping everyone here with his code on the Honor 6. Some of his progress here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-honor-6-t3019056
Also I'd like to thank the Mate 7 developer who I couldn't catch his name again for helping with the RIL issues. If he is the person I think he is then he should be @gabry3795 with his process right here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...pdate-ascend-mate-7-stock-derivative-t3241661
If that isn't him then I compel someone to help me again but even if that isn't him I'd still like to thank that person for making a petition regarding huawei's closed source information. Granted it isn't for our device but it's for the right cause.
As you also might've noticed, our developers could use help and as somebody who is helpless in coding I feel the need to at least ask around if somebody is capable to help if needed. I am not forcing anyone I just ask politely.

It looks pretty fine, the name of the MT7 developer is correct. About the help, the help We need comes from China and doesn't want to know anything about us. That doesn't mean that if you are not Huawei you can't help, I appreciate every contribution. In my opinion you should include as well to @hackslash even though he's working on the Honor 4C, his contributions have been really great and it's a pleasure to work with him as well as with all the people you listed above.

Thank you for mentioning him and for making me interested in Python. If you're wondering how. You once said you're a C++ dev and I know a little of a similar language named C# but in order to understand more of these two languages I needed Python. And so swish swosh >>
Actually, you should thank for RIL @codeworkx who was developing CM for Honor 6, @gabry3795 just took his code from H6 device tree.
You should include sokoban too for making deodex rom for this phone.

Hello, sokkoban.
I've installed your B574 Deodexed and I have two suggestions for your future version of ROM:
1) Implement multi window directly inti ROM. It's a feature many people want and also people are having issues with your rom when using multi window.
2) Auto hide navigation bar. There is a button but it's very annoying to press every time you go into an app.
And I have one question:
3) Are you only going to make ROMs based on Chinese ROM or you will also make European ones?

@Prostokuche Thank you for this mention, I am proud to contribute to this project. After all we are all fighting the same battle And yes, I started the petition about a year ago forcing huawei to release the sources needed for a custom ROM (Mate7 scenario is worse than the p8 one )
I also want to point out that the HuaweiRIL.java module belongs to cyanogenmod project as stated in the license header. My edit on RIL project are signed by me and those to the HuaweiRIL.java was just to exclude features that are not supported by Mate7. :highfive:
I hope you can release a fully working ROM for your device! Good luck!

Sorry to ask a really really noob question:
When it says WiFi connected no internet, is it actually no internet?
This may sound a strange question but I have seen someone that still have internet access while 'wifi connected no internet'.
"Connected No Internet" with Custom Roms except MIUI, How do I fix this?
Wifi says Connected "No Internet" but the internet Still Works over Wi-fi and Sim 4G when I flash any rom except MIUI. (I flashed lineage 14.1 (without gapps and with gapps) and pixel experience 9) How do I fix this?

Well unfortunately I am not an expert, so what I can suggest is searching some phones's XDA forum, e.g. "galaxy S2 XDA", and quoting developers there.
Did you turn off WiFi optimization in WiFi advanced options also?

Wel sorry to quote you all. In the OP, the developer @Mighty faced some problems on his self built custom rom for the Galaxy Tab 2 (ti omap 4430) device. The Wi-Fi scans, but 'connects, no internet'.
Can you guys help him out?
Thanks!

I'm in the same slack group (unlegacy android) because once I also was building for the Tab2 and fixed some things for the community, maybe I can help you out.
I have to sync the sources for oreo before.
(I also still own my tab2)
But, one moment, the wifi connects and you didn't get any internet connection?
This remebers me to a similar problem I was facing on an AOSP GSI,
just try my fix and tell me how it worked.
(It was a real struggle to find out whats wrong...)

This may not be the best solution, but I didn't found another so far.
