So when I was using the Android Rev HD with the back button mod, I was able to remove the black bar using "qemu.hw.mainkeys" while still keeping the menu button on apps like Chrome that support it (NOT in the form of black bar). But since I flashed the GE Rom, qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 will disable the black bar but also remove the menu button in all apps that have it.
bump
Anyone?

I have the latest Paranoid Android on my note7000. I enabled softkeys on the navbar because it gives me the recent apps button which I find far easier than long pressing the physical home button. However now I have two home buttons (a soft and a hard) as well as two back buttons. I was wondering if it was possible to reprogram one of the duplicates. The feature I was thinking would be great for one of these buttons are the toggles (GPS/WiFi/BT, etc). PA already gives me all the toggles I need from the notification bar, but what I don't like about it is that I need to tap twice. The first tap on the status bar brings up notifications and then the 2nd tap brings up the toggles. It would be nice to have this as a single tap. If one of the soft buttons could be programed to bring up wigitzoid or other toggling widget that would do it. Or if there is another equally fast way to bring up these toggles, please let me know. (I prefer not to have to go back to my homescreen to get to the toggles.). Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Click to collapse
install the xposed mods and enable menu overflow button.
works perfectly
With 4.2,2 Sense 5 gives you the option to long press the home button to use as menu which also removed the black legacy bar. I have been looking for something similar for the Google Edition Rom's but haven't found it. I know you can flash a custom kernel and use logo 2 menu which removes the black bar but is there a mod I am missing which will do it similar to the sense way?
Thanks
I can't seem to figure out how to turn off the black bar with the 3 dot menu button on my google edition. I am using xposed framework and gravitybox to map the menu button to long hold home. Is there a way to disable the black nav bar 3 dot menu using xposed some how? I am aware of the build.prop method of doing it but that way removed the 3 dot menu from chrome and apps that have one built in.
Thanks.
I am also having this problem. Help would be greatly appreciated!
I am not sure if any mod can do it but you can install a custom kernel like Bulletproof, it will give you the option which installation if you want to remove the 3 dot menu and keep htc logo as the menu button.
Hit thanks if this helps
