What it does :
It moves data/app data/local and data/dalvik-cache to sd-ext.
Data/data is moved in Data2ext version.Other files are still in internal memory.
It binds data to /internal so you can acces to app, dalvik-cache, local and data/data which are in internal memory.
Attention: It does not move the whole data to sd-ext because gps won't work.
In settings you'll see your internal memory instead of sd-ext memory.

Bravia Engine
Thread Link
Properties: Enhance Graphic Proccessing and Output. Hence Better graphics.
While the latest BRAVIA ENGINE builds on tried and tested BRAVIA ENGINE technology, it does so with the advantage of a new chipset and picture processing software.
This new technology has allowed BRAVIA ENGINE to improve - even in respect to its own dazzling performance:
Contrast. Increased depth and clarity, as well as new light control technology to control peak brightness levels, means stunning images even on the brightest of scenes.
Colours. New colour histogram technology detects and optimises overall colour distribution of each frame. This technology delivers breathtaking colour by making millions of improvements to each frame before you even see it.
Detail. Advanced Noise Reduction lies behind BRAVIA’s ability to show you every blade of grass on a football pitch and really put you at the heart of the action.
ERROR??
1. Report the error your facing.
2. Save the Logs after installation
3. Attach log file here.

GUIDES
# Dont use Apps2SD, use Link2SD instead. Its better.
# If new themes dont appear in the theme chooser simply unmount and remount sd card. Should do the trick.
# Sometimes you might have to restart the launcher or restore the default launcher settings if the app drawer gets unsymmetrical. Unfortunately its the launcher bug.
# The default kernel is okay, if any problems occur then increase minimum frequency.
# Slower lockscreen? Get the Perfect Peso kernel from the downloads section and set 245min CPU frequency(interactive).(Recommended)
Changing the lockscreen style might also solve the issue
#Keeping wallpaper scrolling off is good, will scroll smoothly.
# No need of overclocking, already very smoother
# Dont dare to change the theme in 'Theme Chooser' of CM. I am afraid you might not be able to get back to the MotoInspired theme.
# If you are not satisfied with what you have then only flash TGB engine!
# That's it for now.

Firstly, I just want to say that this is not my creation, I take no credit, and I'm posting pretty much what it says on the original thread right here. If you wanna thank the devloper (Androguide.fr), follow the link below. I'm posting here so more i9300 aka Galaxy S3 owners can take a look.
Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32660318
UPDATE!! I'll post update changlogs here, if you dont feel like going to the original thread.
v2.0
ø New Tweaks selection screen : Multitasking
==> Choose between :
4 levels of OOM Priorities
4 levels Minfree settings
2 levels of ZRAM compression
Tweak your kernel and dalvik cache to behave well and be stable on hard multitasking conditions
ø New Tweaks selection screen : Networks & Internet
==> Security tweaks :
Reinforce your TCP/IP Stacks to make them resist to SYN attacks which cause a DoS (Denial of Service) on your device. Now those lame-ass blackhat hackers won't harm you with this.
Block redirects : auto website redirections will be blocked
Block source-routing : source-routing can be used to hack into your device as it allows full tracing of packets.
==> Stability & Speed tweaks :
Increase the buffer and queue size of each tcp socket to give more stability on high broadband consumption conditions
Allow the system to re-use the Sockets on TIME-WAIT state. In clear time-wait causes memory-loading, memory-loading causes internet lagg, internet lagg sucks.
Various IPv4 protocol speed tweaking scripts using sysctl
DNS and ppp0 tweaks for faster name-resolution, which means faster connections to websites.
ø New Tweaks selection screen : GPS Configuration
==> Choose between 79 countries (and 5 continents) of gps.conf files: those files are essential for the accuracy and lock-speed of your device's gps. (Thanks to gangsterjoop for the files)
ø New Adblock file of over 200 000 hosts ! (100x more than before) (Thanks to BSDgeek_Jake for the host file) --> added to extra features screen
ø New init.d scripts :
Move Dalvik-cache to /cache to increase data storage
Bind-mount dalvik-cache to allow a device to boot without sdcard (useful for devices with damaged internal sdcard)
Touchscreen responsiveness improvement tweaks
ø New Enable/Disable features :
Disable and Re-Enable Android logger
Disable Gentle Fair Sleepers
Disable New Fair Sleepers
Disable Normalized Sleeper
ø Rewritten every single init.d script :
This allowed me to realize many of them were not working, so I added a lot of missing values, and fixed a countless number of errors, redundant values and typos. So there should be some big improvement on the effects of init.d tweaks.
I also set an order of execution of init.scripts to avoid conflicts.
ø Removed themes and S-Voice
The S-Voice flaw that allowed other devices to use it appears to be patched and it was heavy, and themes were heavy and not really useful, you can download a countless number of them for free on the market
ø Changed installer theme to Sense
I realized that the options subtitles were not readable with ics theme, so most of the tweaks effects explainations were hidden.
ø Pimp My Rom will now come in two versions :
One will include the latest version of Aroma (with touchscreen working out-of-the-box, but issues on some devices) and One using Aroma v2.51 (With touchscreen calibration, and this version appears to fix the weird texture/ghost-input/moving screen/vibration issues people have with some devices with aroma v2.56)
ø Major code clean-up, various bugfixes
Re-organized and cleaned-up both aroma-config and updater-script
Fixed the way the installation process input displays sections and sub-sections
Fixed some tweaks getting installed instead of others when they shouldn't, and some other bugs
Pimp my Rom is an aroma-installer based script that will allow you to choose between a plethora of nice tweaks, mods, apps, themes and features to add to your current rom.
YOU CHOOSE which options and tweaks to apply, all this with a nice touchscreen interface, even if you're not running a touchscreen recovery, thanks to Aroma.
You can now run this script on any Android Device !!! (GB/HC/ICS/JB)
PmR was originally created for the Galaxy tab 7.7 (p68xx), but it has now evolved into a universally usable script !

Please Post the Rom you are running for which PMR worked and i will add it here:
Working with:
Paranoid Android v2.20
Android Revolution HD 11.2
Awesome!! Will give it a shot
Please fix the links you are referring to, they are simply copy pasted and do not redirect correctly.
And thanks for the contribution, but if this isn't your work, should it be in the Original Android development ?
Amazing!
i dunno why
but almost everytime, PMR freezes at the AROMA installer after several moments, let's say 1 minutes. but if i do select the options quickly before 1 minute the installation is fine. i'm using the CWM Touch, anyone got the same problem?
works fine on PA v2.20
thanks
Using the original pmr in arhd 11.2 amazing battery life now with super smoothness

I'm using a dualboot Omega 27.2+CM10 with latest Siyah kernel. Since I'm scared that it will break something set by Stweak/Siyah... I wanted to ask: Is there in PmR any "must have" hw fix/enhanchement that is not already part of my setup?
I'm using it with siyah v1.7 everything is fine

Then why would you post this in Original Development?
Plus this already has been released as JJ mentioned, so it wouldn't really even go in dev..
OP in the future please post in the proper section.
This Link will explain what does belong in Original development
Anyone that's looking for the original Pimp my rom, it can be found here

Compatibility :
- This package will work with all android devices that have init.d support!
- Fly-On Mod works with Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, but in Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean ADJ Values are hard coded into the services.jar or .odex, that's why for Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean you will need a patched services.jar, you can follow this great guide by zeppelinrox (thanks to him): Click here.
- You can also use Fly-On Mod with V6 SuperCharger. (If you didn't flash the ram_manager config)
- The ram_manager configs are for phones with 512MB RAM. (Lower and higher than that too)
- If you have 1024MB/2048MB RAM use supercharger instead!
Important informations :
About RAM managers :
+ Balanced version, is for people with moderate apps use.
+ Gamers version, is for people playing HD/3D games.
+ Multitasking version, is for people that use a lot of apps at the same time.
+ Hard multitasking version, is for people with huge amount of apps running at the same time. (Very agressive values!)
+ Nexus version, contains values from Google source used in nexus devices.
Note also that:
- Multitasking version have lesser free ram than Balanced/Gamers/Nexus, but this thing doesn't mean they are the best, choose the ram config according to your use!
- Don't use any Task Killer with this Mod!
- Fly-On Mod main package comes with 2 different versions, CM version is for CyanogenMod ROMS and AOSP based ROMS (like AOKP), then stock version is for stock ROMS and custom ROMS based on stock!
- If you have bad battery life the problem is from an app waking your phone from sleep, it's not my script!
- Don't use Fly-On Mod with any other tweaking script as they will conflict!
- If you want to use Fly-On Mod in your ROM or your Mod ask for permissions first and give me credits!
- If you have any question ask me in the thread instead of PMs or I will not reply!
- Read well the thread before posting any newbie questions and do not ask for an already answered question!

This Thread is reserved for sharing information about Scripts in Android and how they Tweak the Android system through the Linux kernel and what are requirements of Running Scripts correctly!
Main Goal of Scripts:
Well,Scripts Has a lot of Goals,Such as optimizing, improving and in Some Lines we can say,Scripts can:
-Improve Performance and GUI Smoothness
-Improve Battery Life
-Tweak and Optimize the Android engine!
Requirements of using Some Scripts:
Since Android is Based on Linux, there is a possibility to use Linux Scripts to attempt the Goals Listed before in the thread, and like any Tweak you want to Apply there is some requirements you need to Use correctly those Scripts and some of the mportanst are :
-Custom Kernel that support init.d(Custom Kernel=Modified Linux kernel, for example in GALAXY ACE Forums here we have:CF-Root-All CM kernels,etc...)
-Having ClockWorkMod 5 or above to Flash Scripts
-at Least 2 MB free in /system
-Root Access(BusyBox should be included)
Useful Info About Tweaks:
-LMK(LowMemoryKiller):
The LowMemoryKiller is a constant debate between more free RAM and more multitasking capabilities as free RAM (more than 60MB free) is actually wasted RAM.
The LowMemoryKiller is actually a feature in the Android OS for better memory management.
This is an important feature due to the perennial problem of having low free memory causing lagginess and slowness in launching apps. When you have free memory lingering around the number of 40MB or less, the Android OS just lags like hell.
What this would mean is, you would want to tweak the LMK to not have the situation of it having less than 40MB (or even close to that).
The modern Linux machine in the Android ecosystem relies on a mechanism called Low Memory Killer (LMK) to consistently free up RAM. This is due to Android's internal mechanism of caching apps (and never fully exiting them) when you press the back button. This is to enable faster app switching and provide a seamless experience for apps usage model. Android also, by itself will also constantly look for often used apps to cache them for faster app opening. This will happen even before your system fully boots.
Now, when you mention LMK, the most obvious thoughts that come up are minfrees and Out Of Memory (OOM) groupings. Yes, those two are integral parts when it comes to LMK. The issue here is that no one actually mentioned that there are two LMK systems in Android, that being:
- Linux LMK
- Android Dalvik VM LMK
Journaling/Barriers:
This has been a touchy subject here in XDA for most people who debate about it. Most recently,Some Scripts included a way to disable journaling on these partitions:
/system (System is read only, it's safe to remove journaling. However, you will not see speed increase by removing it as you're not writing onto /system 99.99% of the time unless you're using Titanium backup to remove system apps or copying init.d scripts to it)
/cache (Cache can be rebuilt on the fly. Data corruption on it is not game breaking)
/data (All of your data on your phone is here. Removing journaling can risk data corruption. Read more below)
On whether we need journaling or not, I will pose this situation:
Journaling is required to maintain data consistency in events that could lead to data corruption. Data could get corrupted in a number of situations:
- Misbehaving app that constantly writes without syncing/committing data to the disk
- Power loss due to forced reboots or bootloops when data is partially written/committed into disk
Memory Leaks
If you found out that your Android is laggy after sometime and a reboot will make it faster, then you're experiencing memory leaks. "free" is a command to show your currently free memory. It will not necessarily be the same value as your phone's free memory.
Busybox
Well,Busybox is required to perform all of your superuser activities in your android phone. There are some problems associated with this when ROM developers decide to use a certain version of Busybox that are incompatible with the binaries that we use in our phones. When you found out that after changing your kernel/ROM:
- You still have superuser and Titanium Backup still works but, Root Explorer/File Expert can't copy files correctly to the /system after mounting R/W!!
MinFree:
Minfree is part of the Kernel (present on both Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich) and It an Option available in Linux kernel Optimized for Android to Improve MultiTasking and It differs from a Phone to another because of the RAM available in users space.
The Minfree is hopefully adjustable Like the LMK to optimize Multitasking to a lot of options(like:aggressive,gaming,balanced,etc...)
The Minfree Option can be Found as a part of Linux Scripts for better RAM management!
Network Tweaks:
Well,in Linux Scripts for Android you can find some Tweaks that increase the speed of you Network Download/Upload and those with various types of Netwoks Like 3G,Wi-Fi,etc...
Build.Prop Tweaks
Well, those Tweaks can generally be found in Build.prop in /system and they are for various improvements Such as allowing Phone to Sleep better, changing wi-fi scan interval, changing window animation delay, some network Tweaks, possibility to change density,etc...
SD Card Speed Fix:
This is a Tweaks that Has the goal of increasing the read-ahead speed of your SD Card, and that by changing the valories of SD card readahead Like:
-256kb
-512kb
-2048kb
-4096kb
Smoothness Tweaks
Well with the Linux Kernel there is a possibility to add some Tweaks to the Linux scripts and those to optimize the GUI Smoothness and also Lock Home launcher in Memory!!
Credits:
Well, what I can say is that I shared those useful Info after some research and my experience with Linux/Unix,and those some of My main Target that I use to find some of the useful info:

I spend the last months to tweak my Xperia T and I wish to share my little experience here. Tweaks can allow to improve the device performances, battery life, smoothness, etc… Please feel free to share your own tweaks in this thread if you think it can be useful.
Your device must be rooted and CWM installed (for information, I use TiMiN8R’s rom ExperimenT 3.5).
First, if you have not yet them, you will need these apps :
Busybox
Root Explorer
A Terminal Emulator
Script Manager
Then, you must have init.d support enabled. Since the Sony stock kernel has not native init.d support, the best thing to do is to download this app : Universal Init.d. With it you will be able to activate init.d support.
Then, let’s tweak!!! But do not forget to do a CMW backup before applying any tweaks.
1. Simple init.d scripts
For instance, if you want to use the "msm-dcvs" CPU governor instead of the default "ondemand", just create a file containing this command line:
Code:
echo 'msm-dcvs' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
Name the file with the name you wish, copy it in the /system/etc/init.d directory (with root explorer), check all the permissions and reboot.
To verify the current governor, open the termical and type :
Code:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
It should show now: msm-dcvs
I noticed a slight better performance and battery life with this governor compared to "ondemand".
Then, let's change the I/O scheduler : noop is said better than the default cfq. So, create a init.d script containing this command line:
Code:
echo "noop" > /sys/block/mmcblk0/queue/scheduler
2. Simple build.prop tweaks
Use Root Explorer to open /system/build.prop
If you experience home redraws (after having closed a heavy app for instance) or systemUI lags, you can add these lines at the end of build.prop and reboot:
Code:
sys.keep_app_1=com.sonyericsson.home
sys.keep_app_2=com.android.systemui
The system will do its best to keep these apps in memory and you may experience less redraws or lags.
To ensure that your modifications are effective after reboot, just open the terminal and type :
Code:
getprop
3. Crossbreeder
This is a popular tweak (featuring 5 different key methodologies) that is said to bring better GUI performances, battery life, android usability, etc… Personally, I noticed an improvement in web browsing speed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113150
Read very carefully the entire OP before doing anything.
After flashing it, I've noticed a loss of the thumbnails in my social and news widgets. So, I’ve disabled the adblock options by typing this in the terminal :
Code:
su -c /system/etc/CrossBreeder/DISABLE_ADBLOCK
(I use Adaway to block ads, and it hasn’t such an effect).
4. Thunderbolt
This is another very popular tweak that is said to bring better performance and battery life. Personally, I noticed a significant improvement in performances.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1556013
Read very carefully the entire OP before doing anything. You will need Script Manager for the installation. Don’t use the remount option (no remount script available for Xperia T). I’ve not tested all the addons. The script sqlite is quite long at first launch, be patient (you can check end script notification in SManager), it is recommended to launch it once a week to defrag the databases.
With both Crossbreeder and Thunderbolt installed, I got no bugs or issues. These tweaks are not redundant, they focus on different things.
5. V6 Supercharger
I’ve tested V6 Supercharger (activating only the supercharge option). The installation is very long and boring. As a result, I’ve got several issues (like walkman and others resident apps in background stopping to work while web browsing). There are plenty of parameters to adjust during the installations and maybe I have not chosen the good ones for my device. Anyway, I don’t want to spend all my life to find them…
6. PurePerformances X
This is really THE mod that takes the best of all popular tweaks/mods (Crossbreeder, Thunderbolt, V6 Supercharger, and others) with several tasks automated (zipalign, sqlite, etc...). Moreover, it activates GPU rendering to save CPU with a said non-aggressive dithering (by default, GPU rendering is only activated if an app requests for it).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360670
If you want to use it, first uninstall the previous mods (Crossbreeder, Thunderbolt, V6 Supercharger, etc…). The installation is quite simple, flash the zip and the installation script will determine by its own the best parameters for our device. Then, you can see a script named "add_to_buildprop.sh" in the zip that must be launched manually. I’ve lightened this script because it adds tons of tweaks to build.prop that are controversial or even prejudicial to the system stability of our device. So, I’m attaching 2 scripts : add_to_buildprop_1.sh and add_to_buildprop_2.sh. If you don’t want GPU rendering, use add_to_buildprop_1.sh, if you want GPU rendering use buildprop_2.sh. First, do a backup of the file /system/build.prop. Enable all write permissions on build.prop. Then, extract the script from the zip and copy it to the root of your internal memory (with Root Explorer). Open the terminal emulator and type :
Code:
su
sh add_to_buildprop_1.sh
Then, restore build.prop permissions and reboot. Personally, I’ve not noticed any goodness in using the GPU rendering.
(Update 27/10) : after deeper investigations, I've realized that the executable sqlite3 (databases defrag) provided by this mod is not working at all. I'm attaching a good sqlite3 for JB that is working fine. Extract sqlite3 from the zip, copy it in /system/xbin with Root Explorer and set all permission.
Overall, I think this mod is great. The boost in performances and smoothness is really noticeable in many areas of the system with battery life preserved.
7. Tuning the minfree settings (low memory killer)
All you need to know about minfree settings can be found here.
The default stock Sony minfree are: 8192, 10240, 12288, 14336, 20480 (i.e. 32Mb, 40Mb, 48Mb, 56Mb, 80Mb).
The PurePerformances X minfree are: 1280,2560,5120,7680,12800,20480 (5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 80).
They are rather "aggressive" and can cause frequent Home redraws or background apps unwanted closes. If you experience this, the best thing to do is to apply low minfree settings. Just create an init.d script with this command:
Code:
echo "1536,2048,4096,5120,5632,6144" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree ;
Set all permissions and reboot (NB: if you use PurePerformances X, just modify the last line of the init.d script "ram_optimize", with the aforementioned values and reboot).
With these settings, no longer Home redraws or background apps closes but in exceptional circumstances. However, you may find that value will cause lag sometimes. Therefore, try these intermediate values (between the last ones and those of PurePerformances X) :
Code:
echo "1536,2048,4096,6144,9216,13312" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree ;
It should be better. For me, rare redraws, no lag. At last, we can set the last value more "aggressive" as it concerns only "empty apps" and not the Home or the background apps. let's take the default stock Sony one :
Code:
echo "1536,2048,4096,6144,9216,20480" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree ;
(i.e. 6Mb, 8Mb, 16Mb, 24Mb, 36Mb, 80Mb)
These are the ideal minfree values for me. Do not hesitate to play with these values to find the best for you.
To verify the applied minfree values, open a terminal and type :
Code:
cat /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
8. Definitely get rid of home redraws
Despite all these tweaks, home redraws can persist... Nevermind, a great app will help us!!
First, install the latest version (2.3.1) of Xposed Framework.
Then install App Settings v0.4 (don't install v1.5, it won't work).
Launch Xposed Installer and in the tab called "modules" tick the App settings and reboot.
Then, open App Settings and search the Home Laucher. Select it, swipe the button to turn it on and enable the "resident" option. Save changes and close the app. It will restart the launcher and after that home will be definitely locked in memory = no more redraws!!
After having done several tests on my device, I find that this method is safe and reliable (I've also added Walkman as resident, it prevent it to be killed during web browsing).
9. Let's swap!
To swap consist in using internal or external sdcard of the devive as virtual RAM. Although not used by default by android, it can be useful for heavy memory users. This is not a miraculous solution since virtual memory is usually much less fast than true RAM. However, it can help in certain circumstances.
All you need to know about swap can be found here.
It's much more efficient and beneficial to swap on the internal device sdcard rather than on an external sdcard. That's what the mod Turbo boost proposes to do. Read carefully the OP. Using this mod, I've tested many many different swap configurations and finally come to these two conclusions :
- The total swap size used must not exceed 200Mb, some lags appear for larger sizes.
- When the swap becomes full, some lags appear.
I've found this solution to overcome these issues:
- creating a 200Mb swap in cache partition,
- creating a 100Mb swap in data partition,
- set swapiness parameter to 60.
By this way the total swap size used hardly becomes greater than 2/3 of the total swap size and swap is never full. Swap size used finally stabilizes in the range of 150-200Mb (thanks to the swappiness parameter of 60).
Install intructions:
- download the attached 98swap.zip and extract 98swap_data_v300 and 98swap_cache_v300,
- move them in your init.d directory and set the correct permissions (or schedule them at boot with SManager),
- reboot,
- open a terminal and type free to verify that the swap has been created
- hit thanks in the Turbo boost thread.
- enjoy!
10. Other tweaks
Some other popular tweaks that I haven’t tested: Fly-On Mod, Pimp My ROM, Android Tweaker. Beware redundancies or incompatibilities that can occur if you install several mods.
Feel free to share your own tweaks or opinions of some tweaks in this thread if you think it can be useful.
Update 28/12/13 : §9. Let's swap!
Update 15/11/13 : §8. Definitely get rid of home redraws
Update 27/10/13 : Attachment of a working sqlite3 for PurePerformances X
Update 25/10/13 : Updated §7. Tuning the minfree settings, Better minfree settings
Update 22/10/13 : Better minfree settings
Update 21/10/13 : §7. Tuning the minfree settings (low memory killer)
Update 15/10/13 : §6. PurePerformances X
Thanks to @WhiteNeo for his active participation.
If you're using XperimenT, you don't need to install the universal init.d, it's already included in the rom
Tried Pure Performances X yet?
Or forced hardware rendering via some egl mods?
Both also improve performance quite noticeably. ^^
In addition, there are lots of build.prop tweaks that increase smoothness!
Thinking about min_fling_velocity (set at 10000 for me ;D) and max_events_per_sec (250 is quite nice here ^^)

you can also disable Scrolling Cache for faster scrolling:
1. Backsmali framework.jar.
2. Navigate to classout\android\widget folder and open AbsListView.smali
3. Search for ".method private createScrollingCache()V" and change:
Code:
const/4 v1, 0x[B][COLOR=Red]1[/COLOR][/B]
