Restoring stock gallery app - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to use Riyal's Htc One GalleryPatch to remove the hell driven Fakebook images from my Gallery, but failed to read that my device needed to be on a deo-dexed ROM (yes I know, always read and double read. My own daft fault), but if I make a NANDroid backup and 'inject' the original apk and odex file into the system.ext4.tar archives, could I fix my issue that way?
Cheers in advance

[Q] Apps that use Camera not working with Darkys ROM 9.5!

I just installed Darkys ROM 9.5
A great ROM but all my apps that use camera are FC'ing or giving the message that camera failed.
This includes, Goggles, Evernote etc.
However, the camera app itself is working fine?!?
Anyone encountered this problem and have any idea of a solution?
Thanks!
I guess it is the same problem I experienced with 9.2!
If you deleted the email.apk, third party apps stop working! Does not make any sense at all but that's how it is!
In the darky forum, someone posted a fix.
Yes its a standard Darky problem search Darky posts and you find it .

I searched in draky's rom thread, but with over 3K pages its getting a bit out of hand!

ok..this is weird. I got all the apps that use the camera like goggles and camtranslator are working again. But the camera app itself is now missing.
There is no camera app in my application drawer anymore.
I was using the hacked camera..so tried restoring using the scripts in sgs tools but still no camera.
Anyway, I just downloaded camera 360 and its working fine, so its not too big a deal!
thanks!
Oh, if that happens, there is also a fix to restore the cam apk. ;-) Check darky forum or wait till later so I can upload it. I don't have access to my files right now...

[REQ] MIUI Camera and Music Player

Anyone able to make a flashable ZIP that will replace the stock android camera and music player with the one from the MIUI ROM?
I really like the music player better and the camera has a few nice features that could come in handy, though I would perfer to stay with CM7, I just can't seem to find myself using MIUI as a daily rom.
In theory since miui uses CM source it should just be a matter of pushing the apks via adb. The only problem i see is getting them to work in english, i was thinking of doing it for the messaging app. I'll poke around with the rom tomorrow and post back if no one else finds a way.
I installed MIUI and then the English Language Pack and was able to pull the APK files and save them to the SDCard.
I then loaded up a nandroid of CM7-RC4 and replaced the original Music.apk and Camera.apk
Good news is they work, bad news is they FC alot with some of the features.
The Camera force closes when you try to pull up settings and another thing I can't remember. The Music player will FC if you go into settings and touch anything, the settings load but you can't touch them at all. It did play music though.
It's because you have to also pull the /lib files. Which are associated with the apk

I'm trying the above and it is not working. I have also pulled out the lib files associated with camera (libcamera.so, libcamera_client.so and libcameraservice.so). Still force closing on me when i try to launch the miuicamera. I also tried replacing the lib files with the ones from the MIUI rom and still no dice (even adjusted the permission via root explorer properly)
I'm on the NS4G, but I am sure it is the same process because i was using an NS4G miui to get the files.
Shed some light here please. I like CM7 and only want the camera app from miui.

ALLLLLRRRIIIGHHHHTTTT!!!! Finally a semi working version! Thanks much for this!
obviously there needs to be some kinks worked out for all the features to be supported as i get FC's here and there, but man, finally something that works! With android, you can rarely say something is a lost cause.
Thanks again FaithCry!
Doesn't the MIUI camera not support the front camera?

no problem I found that it was just the zoom if you tried to press it... other than that it worked for me; mind you i didn't experiment much. then again, why not just step closer or do the zoom on your comp since it is digital zoom anyway

nope not yet, not even on their own rom; you have to install the regular google camera to use the front facing one. they're just about to release a fix for the front facing one, don't know how long it will take to get ported; but i'll keep you guys updated if anything comes up!

I can't get the camera app to appear in my drawer. I followed the instructions, but it won't show up. Anybody have any ideas?
*EDIT* nm, I just had to reboot it again.
Hey quick question, would you be able to run the MIUI Camera on the Stock Google Rom also? Or do I need to have a customer rom installed first before I try to put the MIUI Camera on my phone?

1. THE LINK CONTAINS A RAR FILE CONTAINING - Nandroid Backup
2. UNRAR the file (use 7zip/winRAR) and place the folder in sdcard.
3. reboot recovery and wipe dalvik, cache and data partitions, then select backup/restore and select downloaded folder.
4.reboot and complete the setup wizard and set the phone up.

Good question, I had to use titanium to delete google search, then download the one from the play store (same version number) and then convert it to system app.
That one lg supplied file would not deodex no matter what I tried? the replacement was fine.
i tried to deodex 20q. but i cant deodex nearly 10 apks.
if you did it it is great!
only one apk and repleace from play store doesnt matter. i mean did you used any apk from other versions like 20o 20p etc.
good work man. thanx
what is the difference is latest libaudiopolicy.so?

Maybe you wanna convert all those ROMs into easy to flash .zip files. But a nice thread anyway. UAE version and some other regional ones would be nice. Maybe we should all work together, create all the local ones, post them here and you add them to the thread, so everyone can pick a rooted version, he/she wants to have.
I guess they are rooted or don't delete the root, right? (I don't think a nandroid would remove root, but are they rooted?)

Sounds like a plan, In the meantime I need to learn how to create zip files. I had no joy with rom kitchen. any other tools for that please?
I might help with flashable zip, but gimme a little bit time so I can test
In process of dl from my server (have to sign it locally), I'll test it ASAP
EDIT: Getting error when installing :/ Will try to fix it.
EDIT2: Now bricked, I guess I shouldn't have changed things on boot.img, will unbrick then retry without any modifications from my own nandroid.
EDIT3: I guess I just bricked my phone too much times for this night, will retry tomorrow.

Ok make it myself, I'll see it tomorrow (I hope !)

One day with v20s, good room, very smooth, battery management is really good. The only thing is that calendar and note widget don't work
I think V20s is the best version for me.. I have used all the version and for me its most stable one...
And with the help of UOT Kitchen I modified some changes like battery, status bar, notification bar , font, boot animation.. And everything works like charm...

Any way to get AOSP sms app in a sense ROM?

Hello,
I've tried to install the stock sms apk and it won't install or it will flat out not open. I've even flashed gapps over a sense ROM. I need to use the asop sms because i haven't found any other apps that can ad pictures from skydrive. Is there a way to get it to run?
Thanks
Have you tried pushing it to /system? Don't know if it'd work but it's worth a try.

[Q] Stock Memo folder

Hello guys, I've got a question: have you got any idea about where the stock memo folder could be, and if it can be accessible after flashing a custom rom without wiping data/media? I mean, the folder containing the text notes created with the stock memo app..It would be very appreciated to know it, considering I haven't been able to find it by myself, even if I searched in many many subfolders, before opening this thread.. thanks!

Unless you took a NanDroid backup before flashing the Custom ROM, I can't imagine for a minute that you'll be able to recover the memo data. If you know a piece of text that is in one of the notes you could use something like ES File Explorer to search within every file, but I don't think you'll find it.

I made a stock rom backup before flashing the custom rom, but after some weeks I deleted it, because I thought I had no more necessity to have it (I planned to stay to the custom rom, 'cause it works fine)..the problem is that I remembered those notes only some days after I deleted the backup..I tried to search them with hotwords, of course, but without success..So, I asked this question mainly because I thought this: if I flashed the custom rom without wiping data/media, maybe the notes are already stored somewhere, just like the old photos and videos I took when I was on stock rom (in fact, photos and videos are still here)
