I have 6 SCH-i800 Verizon Galaxy Tabs that I purchased new from a company dumping it's stock of old tablets. I decided that I could use them for business and hand them out to my technicians to use for field work. However I did not want them to be able to access certain settings which I could not disable without having root access.
I started with just one tablet that I had already activated on Verizon and flashed it using the latest Cubed3 ROM by dsb9938. It seemed to be the best custom rom for my needs and worked great on the tab. 3G stayed active and connected under everything I threw at it for well over 48 hours. GPS worked. Everything was perfect.
I proceeded to flash the other tablets without issue, and then one by one began to activate them on Verizon. It wasn't until after this that I discovered to my horror that every tablet I activated after the flash had 3G connection issues. Randomly throughout the day the data will go into Upload only and then just go into data disconnect mode. The only way to get it out is to turn the data connection off then back on.
The only tablet not doing this is the one I activated prior to the flashing. Other than that all the tablets are identical, even down to the loaded software.
I tried wiping and re-flashing the tablets, but the same problem persists.
Same for all tabs.
Hardware Version: I800.0.4
Model: SCH-I800
Firmware: 2.3.5
Baseband: S:I800.0.4V.EI04
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-dsb9938.VZW.GTab.EI04.1.1.2
Build:SCH-I800.EI04
I flashed every tab using Heimdall 1.1.1, and from the latest update from Verizon, MC2.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

I bought a second-hand G1(no data plan) since I wanted to play with my phone. It ran 1.6 DMD64 stock with the newest radio; and it had WiFi problems.I did some research before purchasing and knew it could be flashed; so I tried flashing it to a modern ROM to see if that would solve the problems. After figuring out it was an American phone(I live in Holland) I managed to root it and flash CM6RC2. I now sometimes have a lot of reception; sometimes not. I tried installing WiFiReEnabler and WifiFixer; WifiFixer made connections overall a bit more stable; but half of the time I still don't have WiFi. I also tried to use my laptop's WiFi for my phone via USB; followed the instructions but failed. My phone managed to get semi-bricked 3 times in that period(stuck at G1 screen), and I tried flashing another ROM too; so I flashed CM 4 times. I'm using a Belkin N1 wireless router; switched channels, security and looked at my keyphrase.
The problems I have with WiFi:
- Not finding my router even though being quite close to it; happened only with 2 of the 5 times I flashed
- Finding my router but not connecting; happened 3 of the 5 times I flashed
- Saying that it's connected but not allowing me to browse; happened all times but WifiFixer occassionally fixes this
I'm still running CM6RC2 with Amon Ra recovery 1.7 on an American phone; my router is a Belkin N1 with firmware version 3.01.04 and hardware F5D8631-4 v3 with WPA-TKIP, broadcast SSID on, channel 4.
Is there a way that allows me to get stable internet on my phone without a data plan?
This could be either a hardware or software issue, not quite sure. Your options are listed below
1. Root and flash to a different more updated rom
2. Flash the newest radio(not sure if it effects wifi signal strength, forgot)
3. Open up the G1 and see if any connectors are loose.
Option 3 is probably out of the question, option 1 and 2 can be done by looknig into the rom bible(sticky) in the G1 dev thread, this will give you threads with new roms, how to install them etc, as well as flashing the new radio(if you have not yet done that)
I already flashed the newest radio, since I tried to install CM6 and in that guide I was instructed to flash the newest radio. I also obviously have installed CM6RC2 which is the newest version of CM.
I did read somewhere that more people had WiFi issues with CM6RC2 or deratives; I'll try running an older version of CM.
Edit: Doesn't work; at least I can't browse when I'm connected. Doing a nandroid restore right now; I'm intending to use Froyo.
In the case that doesn't work, how hard and dangerous would it be to open up my casing and look for those wires? It's second-hand, so warranty would likely not be a problem.
Thanks for answering anyway.
Is it possible that your router is using a different band?
I don't know about Holland, but sometimes different countries allow different wireless bands.
Try changing the channel on your router to something like channel 7 or 11, something varied from the norm.
Well. I found a solution. Connecting my old sitecom wl-167 which has no wireless N support seems to give me no problems.
(Holland has different channels then America, but my G1 was surprisingly already configured for Europe)
Thanks for your help anyway!
P.S. My XDA does seem to have some problems. "No route to host" when trying to post.
Edit: It appears it isn't 100% fixed; WiFi-fixer still solves it right now but it might not be the solution.
Edit 2: Well, WiFi-Fixer is able to fix my problems all of the time for now; but ocasionally I have WiFi for 10 seconds then 10 seconds no WiFi, et cetera.
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
Edit 3: It isn't threatening to my WiFi anymore. Thanks everyone who tried to help me.
Hi all!
I've got two problems with my tab which frustrate me to no end at times.
1) sometimes the data connection disconnects, and is never able to connect back. I am still able to make calls, but just cannot surf the internet. I'll usually need to restart the tab a couple of times before it stabilizes. Note that the data disconnects in an area that has a good signal strength, so i kinda doubt its the network.
2) sometimes the tab just goes into a black screen and freezes. I'll need to press and hold the power button and the phone restarts after a few attempts.
I'm using the stock rom. Version 2.2, kernel is 2.6.32.9 and build is froyo.dvjj3.
Anybody have any idea why ther are these problems?
Thanks!
I would check the modem list and see if there is an updated modem that you can flash using heimdall You can find the list for your flavor of tab at this XDA link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069727
You said you using the stock rom. Did you root your tab?
Since its stock rom, how about you check update it through kies.
If you got lucky, there is GB rom around the corner, but depend on your region as well.
Update it and maybe your problem will go away
If still not succed, try hard reset your tab. If the problem still occur, I personally think you had a hardware problem for sure.
No i didn't root the device. Kept it as it is from the box. Ok i'll try checking for any updates through kies. Will check for the modem filed too!
Thanks a lot for the help!
Hi, I've searched for similar issues, but can't find one, so please forgive me if it's covered elsewhere. I have a UK EE HTC One (1.28.61.7) which is fully stock (not even rooted) and aside from an issue with the capacitive buttons being hit and miss have one other issue. When I connect to a wifi network (tried on multiple networks) it will connect, and be fine for a minute or two, but then it will show that it's connected, but refuse to transfer any data. The only way to get it back to life, is to turn wifi off and on again.
Has anyone else come across this, or should I go back to EE, and swap it?
TIA!
Yes I noticed this, at times it disconnects but if you give it time it reconnects ...never had this problem with my old phone. Samsung glide.

HTC ONE (Stock so far) Just got 2013-04-21
Samsung Captivate Glide
Installed:
CWMR5x_i927_recovery.tar.md5
ICS 4.0.4 LiteRom 0.9.0
LiteKernel
hmm, mine doesn't - it just shows it's connected, and won't transfer any data .
Ever since I rooted my phone and unlocked my bootloader I have had no service. I flashed PAC rom and Meow kernel, both of which make no difference. I have also tried other roms such as chameleonos and Revolt JB, all with the same problem. When I search for a network it occasionally detects some but never EE (which I'm on). I have got connection twice in the past two weeks, and would really appreciate if I could have some help in restoring my device back to its previous position as a phone rather than a mini tablet.
WiFi works perfectly.
Thankyou,
Finn Duggan
So I have the T-Mobile variant of the LG G4. I had it unlocked straight from the carrier a while ago and all seemed well. Recently I noticed a huge amount of battery drain and 4G LTE usage from T-Mobile's pre-installed apps--mainly com.tmobile.pr or something which is the "My Account" app (imagine being at 60% left with 27% of the drain having been an app and only 9% the screen. Yeah, it was that bad)
This I obviously found unacceptable, so I went ahead to try and uninstall the bloatware. Lo, much to my dismay, Tmobile has locked it down so you can't uninstall the bloatware, and you can only disable it. This alone irked me enough that I wasn't satisfied with just a disabling. I knew I wouldn't rest until I had obliterated it.
I've had plenty of android phones over the years and done my fair share of rooting and flashing ROMs and the like, but I hadn't touched that aspect of my G4 because I wanted a dependable device for school and I didn't want to mess around with it. I knew I'd have to root it to get rid of the tmobile bloatware so I went and did that using the Low effort root method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765). When this was done a lot of my background processes started to continuously crash. I decided to go ahead and put TWRP as the custom recovery and just go ahead and get some dependable 6.0 ROM, and I found a couple of them.
When I flashed the first ROM, the play store services were crashing so I found the google apps package for marshmallow and flashed that too. It seemed to fix the issue. Yet when I would click on my School's WiFi at the setup (which is WPA2 Enterprise) it would crash and say "Unfortunately WiFi has stopped working." I thought that perhaps I mucked something up in the flashing of the ROM, or that maybe there was an issue with the ROM in general, so I decided to just flash another ROM entirely (after factory resetting it all the way). Along the same time as this I found a slightly more modified and feature packed version of marshmallow by this lad here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/h815-genisys-rom-1-0-classic-v10g-t3192649). I decided to go ahead and use this one since it had a h811 version there, that involved flashing a h815 and then flashing a patch.
The "Unfortunately WiFi stopped working" issue persisted, however. I found this odd. I then noticed that if I click any other network that ISN'T the WPA2 enterprise network my school is working that everything seems to work fine.
I went ahead and factory reset it all the way again in the hopes that would fix it. No luck.
I booted it to safe mode and tried to connect to the WiFi network from there. No luck.
I downloaded a third party WiFi app off cellular and tried to connect from there. No luck.
I can't enter the WiFi's name and try to enter directly because it crashes there too.
I can't "Forget" the network as it's never joined that network before so there's nothing to forget. It does let me enter the advanced options but a direct press causes it to crash.
So throughout ROMs and wipes and safe modes and all, this one issue has persisted, where my phone's WiFi will crash when it tries to connect to my school's WPA2 Enterprise network. I've tried plentiful fixes short of flashing back to a 5.0/5.11 stock (which I'm hesitant to do because I read something about phones bricking after they downgrade from Marshmallow using the .kdz files or something?).
I'd really appreciate any help that y'all can provide. I've read these forums for ages but this will be my first time making an account because I can't find anybody else with the same issue and its proving to be quite a pain.
tl;dr wifi isn't working with only one particular network and no fix I've tried under this sun has worked so far. help will be appreciated pls
Have you tried flashing this rom here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/rom-g4-h811-xtreme-rom-v1-0-7-28-15-t3167667
I am using this one here and I have no issues using wifi. I cannot speak for the 6.0 roms because LG has not dropped the sources for the Tmo variant yet.

I got the brown leather variant from Tmobile and it only says H811 as far as I can tell. Not sure of if its the "n" version or not.
I have not tried that rom but ill be sure to give it a go, hoping it will help solve the issue. I did some additional testing and can confirm the issue lies with all WiFi networks that employ WPA2 Enterprise security.
Will there be any issue with the Rom when downgrading from Android 6.0? I was reading about phone's bricking when trying to downgrade certain versions or bootloaders on the tmobile variants.
I'm pretty sure going back to stock 5.1 will be fine. The Tmo variant hasnt been upgraded to 6.0 yet and the ports don't update the bootstacks. Read here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/global-marshmallow-6-0-port-to-h811-t3232760
Update: It seems that any Android 6.0 flash cuts off the ability to connect to Enterprise wireless networks. I went ahead and flashed to the debloated stock rom on the thread you mentioned, but it cut off the ability to record video. As such, I went for the xTreme version that you mentioned, and flashed the camera restores and all.
Everything works fine now as far as I can tell. I also got rid of the Tmobile applications draining the battery and all that. All should be well. Thanks again for the help
