Probably you need to gain root.
This tool seem to be working over adb. If yes then there are no other way... Need root, then backup TA.

For me this worked fine (but used last beta 9.0b5).
on my C5303 with firmware C5302_12.0.A.1.284 rooted with Doomlords perf. event exploit.
Also dry run for restore was successful.
Did not try full restore because i leave my one unlocked anyway and don't really care about the BE2 engine.
Probably i try the restore when the official 12.0.A.1.284 for the C5303 is released.
Did you root your XSP?

hi i use ver 8.6 and i have no problem
your phone must be rooted and enable usb debbuging & unknown sources
yes i rooted fw 284
when it run my folder has 2 folder tmpbak and backup
folder tmpbak
and folder backup clear
I think more info on your phone status is required that someone here can really help you.
How did you root (exploit or kernel).
Bootloader: locked or unlocked (if already unlocked the TA backup makes no sense anyway (DRM keys are lost forever))
Kernel: stock or dooms/cm
Also you could ask in the BackupTA thread directly.

1.i use stock kernel stock rom locked bootload just only rooted BE2 work fine
2.im a new mem i cant post in that thread :crying:
when it said "find ta partition" i allowed adb
is backup taking a long times??
Ok there were some posts mentioning that in the final version 9.0 of backup TA the behaviour you described appeared.
Seems like a bug in BackupTA with the new version 9.0 because the betas of 9.0 until b5 did work.
Try the 9.0 beta 5 or version 8.9.
i used backup TA verr 9.1 and i backup done thks every one!!!!

Here is the final version of Flashtool, compatible with Z/ZL
To clarify about bootloader unlock/relock :
Q : Can Flashtool unlock bootloader for a first time unlock ?
A : Yes, it does it using official sony method (get key, then issue the right fastboot command)
Q : Can Flashtool relock bootloader ?
A : Yes
Q : Can Flashtool unlock bootloader after a relock ?
A : Yes.
With this release, before unlocking first time, root your device and you will be able to backup your TA partition (Raw ta backup). By doing this, you will be able to relock / restore your TA partition and have back BE2 and all DRM keys.
Happy flashing
Flashtool can be downloaded from this page

Very Good。
the complete version of FT should take some time as Androxyde is rebuilding/redesigning the entire interface, but till then this will have to do...

I have a few questions.
1. When creating a firmware normal Flashtool v0.9.10.1 does not know how to define multiple files.

Is there a risk? Or beta Flashtool, when flashing the firmware of received, all the files correctly identify and sew the right sections?
I looked at the French firmware - it has the same structure as the creation of me, so I'm pretty sure of the correctness of their actions, but would like to know your opinion.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

You should not use TA option yet. With old flashtool loader sending is not correct for Xperia Z and new version is not TA option implemented.
Better wait a little!

i checked flashtool it is 0.9.18.6, sorry lol
it's not restore your DRM information, it just restore functions you lost after unlock bootloader.
when you complete all step to restore DRM, did you check it work or not before flash a new rom? ( open image and see what diff between x-reality on/off. And don't restore old nandroid, flash a fresh rom, flash DRM restoration.zip and restore data via titanium backup.

Lol, debloat script will delete the file use to control DRM function, and another file to control x-reality, just restore them and reflash drm restoration.zip.

Thanks for posting the link.
Once you have the ROM flashed there is 1 free Hidden Space app (Calculator) and 2 paid apps $0.99 each for Web Login and Clock ... these allow you to secretly access the hidden space. But you don't need the apps to create a personal space or a downloaded (Tor space, WeChat , on the website)
Hi
I would like to try this rom, but I would like to know if I can easily step back..
I'm currently using marshmallow, is correct to make a nandroid backup, then flash and test this 5.1.1 rom and, in case, flash my backup to restore MM?
Will this rom work with MM bootloader and radio or will it affect my daily use?

Hi Marcuzio81
Yes the ROM will work with your current radio and bootloader, just back up your current image , flash our ROM , Try it out, and restore to your original image. I also recommend you try a Hidden Space App which you can get from the play store.
Here is the link to the currently free Calculator app.

Can you provide details about the device, I assume its a Google Nexus 5 not the 5X, since the ROM only supports the older model. Can you also provide the version of the bootloader and radio.
Thanks
I confirm it's the fabulous, ever green nexus 5
My bootloader is hhz12k, I'm not able so far to check the radio but I suppose it's the latest one coming with MM AS I've flashed the google factory image...
You could flash back to factory 5.1.1 "hammerhead" and try flashing our ROM from there. I will see if I can reproduce your issue from MM.

Firstly, check your bootloader status. If its:
1. Locked: Install ROM with LB tag on it or consider unlocking your bootloader.
2. Unlocked: You are free to fly with any ROM.
Secondly, check your downloaded CM if its for LB or UB. How? Check the source from where you are downloaded the ROM.
Thirdly, if your BL is UB then why settle for CM11. Try CM13.
I bought my phone unlocked, I shouldn't have to unlock it right ?

I suggest you confirm first. Here are the steps:
1. Dial *#*#7378423#*#*. A menu called Service opens up.
2. Now Service info->Configuration->Rooting Status
3. If its locked then you will find "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes".
Check the status & if possible upload your screenshot.

Your bootloader is not unlocked, though you can unlock it any time. Nobody sells phones with unlocked bootloaders, "unlocked" usually stands for "not carrier-locked".

Okay, so your bootloader is locked. But the good news is your bootloader is unlockable.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/general/xperia-sp-home-roms-kernels-recoveries-t3130906
You can either unlock your bootloader or keep it locked completely your choice. But locked bootloader means you are restricted to LB ROMs.
P.S. If you have decided to unlock your bootloader make sure you back TA partition.

Advice in this case.
Don't root if you are in a hurry
Bootloader unlock is at least 7 days waiting
Backup before and restore after format is again a couple of hours
Brick is a couple of weeks or papermate

I don't have any data and can format at any time,
I hope to achieve ROOT as soon as possible, Maybe 7 days can also wait or over 7 days,
I was wondering if there is an exact way?
Of course, I also hope that it will not become a brick,
Why should I root?
Because I'm very disgusted with the monitoring and security software that comes with the mobile phone system, I don't need these software and management, I am use to assured of Google's management, and don't need mobile phone security App,

There is a lot of information how to unlock and root your Xiaomi device.
So I won't give you a detailed guide.
- Start with bootloader unlock
- While waiting 7 days, study how to go further and download everything you need.
- Like ADB, Twrp or Orangefox, Magisk, Custom rom and optional Gapps
...................... Studying before next actions is necessary to avoid a brick ..........................................
- After 7 days, unlock
- Flash with fastboot, recovery (Twrp or Orangefox)
- Reboot to recovery
- Follow flash and format instructions of desired Rom
- Flash Magisk for root
PS
Please don't shout anymore for root in a hurry
