What exactly is stored in "Other"? I've got over 6gb stored in there and would like to free up some space.

Yeah I'm guessing it's just the OS then, I'm still stock un-rooted. Haven't found the need to root and room yet.

the other 200 MB of "rams" are being used by your system. They are there, but the system won't show them. I'm pretty sure this has been discussed. It's the same on the i717. It will show less.

As far as im aware i have no background data running its a bit odd
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah it definitely looks like something is auto-updating, Have a look under accounts and sync and see whats there. You could also use an app like droidwall to stop certain things accessing the internet over mobile data.
But you do have AYCE so dont worry too much about it. That is unless the AYCE has a 'fair usage' policy
Usually widget / account syncs and updates that pushes up the Android OS from memory..
Hi guys I had a look but I've recently flash unofficial CM10 preview so I'll see how this will run that's for all the help guys

as far as i know polaris needs to be run with touchwz interface, actually means stock rom..
that thingie with the improper version can be fixed by editing build file in system and rename the device as smth else that application wanna see.., i mean if your polaris app is for i9100, you change the name there from p3xxx to i9100 etc, but why dont you just give a try to kingsoffice, seems works good and has almost whole thingies which has ms office...and ofcits free :victory:
Ok I rooted a few months ago and have noticed this odd assortment of symbols. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to fix it? I would search but have no idea what to search for. Directing me to where I can get help for this is also appreciated

This is the first time seeing this issue. So you rooted and did not flash a rom? Make a nandroid backup and try dirty flashing the stock rom for the version you are on now or full wipe and try out a custom rom.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
I flashed a rom, and then noticed this. Then I flash a different rom and it was still there.

Try completely erasing phone (format data in recovery), the phone will be completely blank including user storage, so backup downloads, pics, etc. you will need to sideload a rom in recovery to get up n running again.

Hey everyone. I noticed that my operating system is taking up more than 8GB on my phone. Is this normal? It seems like a lot for a mobile OS.

The partitions take up that space, not the OS.

Yeah the title "OS take up 11 GB" was just included when I copied and pasted the link to the thread. Didn't mean it to be the answer. Thanks for correcting for me though
