[Q] Widget for toggeling pin lockscreen - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wonder if there is a way to create a widget for giggling the pin/password lock screen?
When at home I don't want any sort of lock screen, the phone should wake by the power button and take me to the home screen. But when I leave home I would like to have the pin lockscreen to protect my phone. To toggle these two kind of lock screen a widget would be very convenient.
Does anyone know if this is doable?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, Elixer can probably do that and so can Tasker. I use Tasker to disable the pin when ever it is connected to Bluetooth in the car among many other things...

[Q] Notification Bar Toggle Buttons

I think this is the best place to post this question, sorry if it's not.
Anyways, with the ROM's for the i897(Captivate) the notification drop down has the toggle buttons for Wi-Fi | Bluetooth | Silent | Vibration
For the I9000 ROM Silent is replaced by GPS.
Anyone know of a way to change which buttons show up?
I'd like to use an i897 ROM, but remove Silent and replace it with GPS.
+1 on that for me, too, its easy enough to go into silent mode with a long press on the power key, or by simply holding the volume down button.... a quick toggle for gps would be great!
+1 as well. Volume rocker on the phone is sufficient in silencing the device, I want a fast GPS on off switch. Perhaps this should be posted in the android development section?
Or a 2g/3g apn switch.

I would also like to add Vibrate to the Power Menu. I don't use Silent, always Vibrate, and I would prefer not having to unlock my phone to change that.

+1. Dont use bluetooth so the bluetooth switch is pointless for me. Would like a Rotation/Orientation switch... or even better (if it can be figured out) a switch to toggle between 2g and 3g
You could try the quick settings app. Long press the search key and you get fast access to all that **** son!

+1 on this however in the meantime...
I use power strip in conjunction with switchpro widget. Power strip is an app you can set to have your home button bring it up even from the lock screen if you have widget locker installed. This way you can access switchpro widget which you can customize to have whatever 7 (less if you'd like) toggles available for quick access without ever even having to unlock your device. I currently have mune set up as follows: Widget locker is installed which allows me to add widgets to my lock screen and have access to my notification bar without having to unlock the screen. Then I have power strip set as my default launcher and ADW is set as the default launcher through the settings in that app so hitting the home button goes to ADW by default (double tap on home brings up power strip) I'm all about pushing as few buttons as possible to access what I need quickly. Once someone figures out how to change the default toggles I probably will keep this set up because of the extreme functionality!
I have a similar arrangement but use QuickDesk rather than power strip. QD is activated by double-tapping home, and offers a 4x5 grid for widgets or icons - I have two switchpro widgets that can toggle nearly everything, and some extra categories for App Organizer that I don't use as often as the ones on the home screen.

QuickDesk is awesome! Thanks for letting me know.
I even got QuickDesk + WidgetLocker + ADW.Launcher to work perfect together.
however quite nice still quick desk might be, it would still be nice to have GPS on default slide down bar...
Any ideas...?
this thread would be better in the Development forum

Lock screen

Is there a known simple method to alter the useless lock screen on the captivate.it's not exactly pocket proof. Also I saw a lock screen somewhere that had several sliders that could launch the phone, mms, ect....
if I could skip the home screen when making a call/text that'd be awesome.

Checkout WidgetLocker, works great.
or if you would like a free alternative but not as yet polished as it is new try Simply Lockscreen
the one your looking for that goes to phone, sms, email, and home is called GOTO... i had it on for a little bit... but ultimately kept the original lock screen
There's a widget named No Lock that lets you bypass the lock screen altogether. It's on the market and it works fine on my stock Captivate.
One tiny issue is that you have to hold the on/off button a little longer than normal to wake up the phone.
Thanks guys. Widget locker it is for me!

this thing is the bomb! never looked back on my stock lockscreen
+1 for No Lock. Great as the Captivate has only capacitive buttons and volume buttons dont seem to activate the screen!
The problem I'm having with most of these alternate lock screens is that quite often the Samsung one still comes up and then I have to unlock twice. If that doesn't happen then sometimes two of the new lockscreen will come up.
I've tried changing around settings but every one I try has these similar issues. Is there no way to just disable the TouchWiz lockscreen?

[Q] two lock screens for slim captivate?

Hi, I'm using slim 4.0, I like the 4 prong app selector lock screen but would like to use, prior to that screen, an actual lock screen like the pattern to make my phone slightly more secure. Is this possible? How?
Thanks much,

It's possible to have the Slim lock screen as well as the pattern. To activate the pattern lock screen, go to Settings and then Security then pick Pattern under the Screen lock section. Then go back to Settings and ASS (Advanced Slim Settings) and pick the Lockscreen options and scroll down near the bottom and check Show lockscreen before unlock.
It will show the Slim screen where you can select one of your four apps, but to launch the app you will need to draw the pattern. I realize that this doesn't exactly answer your question since you wanted the pattern before Slim, but it will still make your phone more secure by requiring the pattern to fully unlock the phone.

Camera shortcut

Is there a way to have a camera shortcut from the lock screen if a pin lock is enabled? I would guess not, but would be a sweet mod. I've got kids and am always taking pics in the moment, but I have to use a pin lock, so I do miss the shot some times.

Try using widgetlocker from the app store. You can set up custom wallpaper and add widgets and shortcuts to it. The camera app bypasses the lock screen

[Q] Widget Lockscreen and HTC One

Hey All,
I have an issue with using Widget Lockscreen and the HTC One (or could be my launcher?)
I had GO Locker and was able to disable home key press on the lock screen so it didnt unlock the phone. I enabled the home screen options in widget lockscreen, but currently, the phone is trying to draw the home screen then quickly snaps back to the lock screen again, which is rather annoying.
I am using Holo Launcher HD and I tried on Apex as well, same thing.
Anyone else experiencing this problem or know how to fix it?
Thanks
