Hi, when I change the battery the date and time return to the default, I have it set to use the carrier date and time sync, but it doesn't update I have to manually reset them every battery change. Is it a fault with the phone or user error? Phil
Hmhh when i change my battery or removed it, time and date will be kept ...
Would it help, when you turn on "getting Date/Time automatically from network" ??? Option can be found in the main menu ==> Date/Time and then the first option ...

Hi, I already have this option selected, but it does not update, strangely it keeps all my personal settings, in fact everything but the Date and Time settings. Phil
Here someone got the same problem:
some times the cell phone network operator gives the wrong time if you select the "Automatic" option in Settings > Date and Time

Hi, I'm afraid my phone isn't rooted, the app only works with a rooted phone, thank you for your help though. Phil
What android-version do you actually have? Ist there an update available???
Why not root your device? Because of warranty you have?
There are so many very good tutorials for rooting SGS i9000 so it should not be a problem ...

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I have been away, the phone runs Gingerbread OS, I can't find any updates for it, I still can't understand why, when changing the battery it doesn't retain the date and time settings, it always used to, if it lost all the info, i.e screen settings, contacts, call logs etc; I could understand it.
Hmhh i can`t understand why your device don`t save /get the right date und time ....
Someone else any ideas ...???

Kabooot - it looks like your /efs folder is corrupt. If you have made a backup of that folder, you can try restoring it. There are some pointers on this thread.

Since you can get to the downloading screen I would suggest you reinstall JM9 following the instructions carefully.

If following all that stuff from the link does not work (I hope it does!), then you might try to flash a firmware with Odin, and select the option "Phone EFS Clear".
NOTE: I am not entirely sure this is safe!
But when I had the EXACT same problem you are having, I reflashed my phone like 20 times with many different firmwares, and a few times I selected that option. Then one time... just randomly... my phone started working, and I even got back my original IMEI and stuff.

I think he is a young kid & may not have a lot of experience/patience of many of us here, I think some patient soul here can guide him to flash an official ROM over Kies. I think Kies can see the phone in download mode & can update the firmware.
Have you solved your problem yet?
hello,
Yesterday i tried to update my phone through pc and it said that there was a update and when i began update, the program thought that the phone was p990 and asked for serial number and imei.
apparently after that i think auto rotation isn't working. But i can force rotate it and also phone checker shows that all senors are working well.
And idea how to fix??
Thanks

The program probably gave you a random model. You can manualy choose yours, country and language as well...
My advice is to re-flash...

I forgot to say that i didn't update through pc. So i didn't update my phone at all. But today i got OTA update v10h and the problem is still there.
I guess everybody who flashed cm10 knows about this. Connecting to wi-fi takes a lot of tries to work, if at all. I managed to connect to my router at home, but it is super annoying to spend 20 minutes at work to reboot and change regional settings just to find out that it doesn't work at all.
Is there any solution to this? Have I done something wrong? Atm i'm running the latest nightly, but i also had the issue with the FXP 152.

Yes, its a well known issue. You could have asked in the cm10 discussion thread instead of starting a new thread here.
The trick is
1) Enable wifi, reboot
2) Search for network, reboot
3) Connect to network and enter password, reboot
4) This time do it all again and it will work.
So, the regional settings don't have anything to do with this issue?

Oh man, it's normal, turn off screen when using call is a funcion of phone.
does this occur while charging or not?
if it occurs while charging then its the bug from the software
if it occurs while the phone is idle then maybe the sensor is blocked or there is a bug
try cleaning the phone in the sensors area or do a factory reset
This is a bug of old 1.45
Edit: update your phone in settings>system update or flash a rom
With 2.00

check for software updates.., its a bug which shows black screen but has been updated...check if ur region has that update by going to settings-about-software update . if it isnt available then be patient or flash latest version of roms.
i have the same problem while charging and my phone has the 2.00 version and there is no update to do(stock rom)
you could select "stay awake" so the phone won't go to sleep while charging or put your brightness to "autobrightness" and you should be able to see the call. +wait for the update as htc said they will releasa an update (donno when,i talked with them 1 month ago)

Did you try to reflash the Stock Rom?
Does this also happen when you charge it via USB-Cable?
Or are you using any app which creates this problem maybe?

What says the option "Wifi in deepsleep active" on your phone?
(I don't know the exact name of this option)
