I've tried clean Rom and stock w/extras and both are significantly heavier on the battery than factory stock.
What would you recommend for a lite stock Rom?
Have you tried under clocking?
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I have not.
Wouldn't know where to start to be honest.
I was hoping for something good to go out of the box.
May seem an odd question, but can I still flash back to factory?

Yes, you can. It's not that hard to return your phone to factory, so flash away (well, within reason avoid GSM ROMS obviously, and be aware of AOSP-related bugs).
It's not too hard to underclock either if you're using a good performance managing app. And although it's been knocked a bit lately, ROM Toolbox does have CPU control if memory serves me right. HTC's built in power saver app doesn't do a half bad job (same with Qualcomm's BatteryGuru).

Just installed MIUI-20120608 on my Bionic, switching from GummyNex 1.2. I like it so far but I THINK I need a little schooling on how to set it up.
First, the reason I switched in case it matters, I loved GummyNex but the video recorder never worked, I guess it is an option that they never got to work from what I read, I can't seem to get it to work on the MIUI rom either although I want to believe it will since it seems to recognize it has a video recorder.
Secondly, I am having some issues getting the data to work, I saw online that there are some steps to go through to get it to work (go to phone info>switch to GSM only; go to setting>mobile networks>CMDA/LTE....) which works but everytime my phone reboots I have to repeat the process. There has to be a way to set it up once and thats it.
Thirdly, there are a LOT of flexibility with this ROM, AWESOME. But I don't know where to start, what all the options mean to me. Instead of trial and error I am hoping some of the experienced users could share some of the best "setups" with me?
Thanks guys!
.... Miui? Where did you find that rom? Every Dev related to Miui stopped working on that ROM sadly which means its out of date now. Unless I'm out of the loop on Miui LOL.

Odexed is pure stock. More difficult to mod unless the dev puts out both versions. It is supposedly faster also. Never could tell a difference in speed. But I like to stay close to stock so I always run odexed and odex all of my work. Deodexed is good for modding and theming since you only have to do things once. It is also a little smaller in size. Again supposedly a little slower, like starting apps. Also more difficult to get things working right at times. Like Google Wallet working on my Odexed Rom but not on Deodexed.
I am sure if you Google them you will find much better answers than what I have provided.

This bloody thing didn't save anything really, just annoyed me by turning off things i set to autosync and etc. Used to use it on my S3 when it first leaked months ago and broomed it fast when i noticed i wasn't receiving emails and such anymore. Apparently it turns off what it "thinks" is not necessary, like email accounts i set to check every hour. After a few days of no email, which i found weird, i went into my email settings and this silly app had turned off sync and set it to manual amongst other annoyances. I never really noticed any battery savings anyway.

I just got the new update an hour ago and wanted to share my thoughts because I know there's still a lot of people wondering what it fixes. So far I've noticed:
- Phone in general feels much much quicker.
- gallery no longer lags.
- switching from wifi to 4g o longer lags the phone
- camera is improved. Still slight shutter delay but I'm thinking it must jus be how it works since it's taking such high quality pics.
-updating apps in the play store no longer makes the phone lag.
-one of my favorite things is the home button response speed is really fast now(yes svoice home button is disabled) I noticed the home button used to lag sometimes. Much faster now.
- I noticed some buttons in the camera and gallery are different and have some extras. Haven't had much of a look yet.
-it appears all my apps are on the SD card now.
I can't comment on battery life or anything else yet but I'll keep an eye on it tonight.

Nope. Took me like 2 hours to.download the MDL tar to go to stock unrooted then flashed update zip.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
For me, I still see and feel the occasional lag. But then, my reference point was the rooted MDL with the ktoonsez kernel and the Crossbreeder mod. . I dont even remember what the stock MDC & MDL setups felt like.
I don't like that it locked up something so that triangle away doesn't work anymore and flashing chainfire's root through PC Odin causes the system counter to read custom. Hopefully those issues will get fixed. I want to say battery life is better but I haven't had enough time with it to get a definitive answer. Then again, after rooting, I froze a $hit ton of bloat with titanium backup as usual.

Hey there. New to the one and was wondering if there were any cm10 roms that can be flashed with s-on
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
As far as I understand it, any ROM can be flashed s-on without issue on the One (caveat below). It's different than the 3D. But the revone method of s-off is super easy so it's worth doing (see my web signature for a link). Also, from my understanding, some people have bricked their Ones trying to flash AOSP ROMs. I think s-off people have better luck with it.

The Two That I know of and have done my self are Viper and cyanogenmod. I have not take the step to s off yet as I am very new to this and am learning before I do just as you described (Brick my phone). You can easily find these two ROMs here on this site.
ViperROM v1.1.0

CyangenMod
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=nightly&device=m7spr
and that is where I got the ones I used as well.
It does matter which carrier you have as I made that mistake and was in bootloop which you dont want to do.
For information on that see this thread:

Bricking a phone would def suck! but i was under the impression, and maybe im wrong, that there is usually a way to fix it. Again im no pro but i kind of jumped into the whole rooting thing without knowing ANYTHING about it on my 3D and never seemed to mess it up more than having to flash a new RUU at worst. anyway i really love the IllusionRom. but cant seem to get google wallet to work, which is kind of a bummer. but i also really love Sense 5, and dont mind using stock one bit. I suggest going for it and checking everything out, more than likely you'll be fine. best of luck

A brick can never be recovered. It must be replaced. A BORK can pretty much always be fixed via ADB.
Also, I heard there was a workaround for the wallet issue. Just search it up. It has something to do with the build . prop.

Or if not ADB, judicious use of fastboot and RUU. I cut my teeth on a Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, and after a three-month long recovery process, nothing the HTC One can pull is likely to faze me anymore.
Anyway, there are certain devices that can be recovered from a low-level brick (assuming by brick we're saying a device is completely non-responsive to input, hardware and software wise) but it's pretty involved at the best of times.
Hey guys, I wanted to ask for some feedback. I've owned the Atrix HD since it's release date. It is now my work phone and I use it mainly for phone calls, text, calendar, and navigation. It has been wiped, flashed, wiped, flashed, flash flash flashed more times than I could ever count. The Eb40 is starting to swell and my volume rockers no longer work.
The biggest issue I have is that now, no matter what rom I'm on, I have proximity sensor issues and screen on/off issues. Is there a way to do a complete cleaning and really restart from scratch. Not being able to answer calls, or hang up calls is a big deal to me, since it's a work phone. I've been considering retiring the AHD and getting a Moto E just for work, but if I can restart and get it working right, I'd consider keeping it. I have the desk & car dock so this is a great work phone, but I just need it to work.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
I still have my AHD XDA Favorite in IE. I haven't used my AHD since the beginning of the year when I handed it down to my son. I'd recently done a bump to Lollipop, and all was well. Yesterday morning, his phone froze up. It, too has had the EB40 battery mod done ages ago, and it's worked flawlessly. The screen froze up and stayed on all day until last night until it finally died. Never got hot - much to my surprise, but I was scratching my melon over why it froze up.
Long story short; we put it on the charger and it took a charge just fine. Worked fine this morning, but after coming home from the pool; he went to turn it on and zilch! I don't suppose there's any interest left in the AHD that anyone's going to read either of these or respond. But; if I come across a smoking gun, I'll let you know. Likewise; if you know anything about repairing them, drop me a line.
Thanks!
