okay..happened 2 days ago..didn't flashed new ROM or anything..just blam!
here goes..
Something wrong with my charging capability.
Says on the display its charging..(have the bolt sign ) but...it seems its going downwards..not upwards..
from 10% to slowly 9% and so on...
what seems to have caused it?
i have done the following..
1 check the usb slot see anything wrong..dust etc..
2 used 3 x type of usb cables and 2 x type of plugs..
3 connected to com..yes is charging but same as above..10% to 9%..
4 have used other batteries i have 3 x batteries.. all e same..
oh..
have the thought of getting a part from Ebay to replace it myself...but just wanna confirm issit the charging port faulty...anyone had the similar problem?
no warrany/export set for this set..so cant really go to service centre to get it fixed(FOC in a way..haha)
Have the same problem. I use a different charger now to charge my 4 batteries. Also, I noticed that my unit heats up fast especially if I put it in my pocket even when mobile data and tethering is turned off. I use tethering a lot so I use 3 of my 4 batteries daily since I can no longer charge my batteries from my phone directly. So far, I haven't found any solution to this. My rom is official jb 4.1.2 and not rooted.

Another thing, my old batteries gives me : original - 7 hours, ebay extended batteries - 8-9 hours and new replacement battery - 8-10 hours when data and tethering are turned off.
However when both are on, original - 2.5 hrs, extended batteries - 3-4 hrs and new - 3 hours.
My unit is about a year old.

This is the most common thing now. I have seen that the stock batteries are not lasting more than a year.
Just go ahead and buy a new battery. It surely is not the ROM
Is it gona blast or something? Lol coz I really need to use that phone untill new battery comes

Buy A new battery & everything will become normal
The same has happened with me. My Note is 13 Months old.
I was playing game AVP Evolution till late night. And in the morning battery died, I charged it to full 100% but as soon as i boot up with in 4 second the phone again switched off , No battery low warning nothing. It is really strange but the fact is that the Samsung battery are just die completely all of a sudden, unlike other phones battery which dies gradually as it looses power and all that ........
I ordered a new battery & everything is fine now.
My old battery is unable to boot my phone even for 5 sec.
I am running my note on the swollen battery for about 8 hours now xP.Sometimes it switch off as soon as I turn it on but rest of the time it runs just fine.Anyways I ordered a new battery.

likeliness of it "blasting"... not very likely.. possibility of it "blasting".. it is possible..
batteries just go bad... a battery is only solid for around 500 charges then they just start losing their charge faster. i mean we are using small computers so this is just going to happen more and more. different reasons could cause this.... use of phone (it is what its designed to do..lol), a "cell" could just go bad causing the swelling, the circuitry in the battery fails causing the swelling, your charger goes bad and takes the battery with it (i had a cat bite thru a cable and it ground out..next day the battery showed signs of swelling and within a week you couldnt snap the battery cover on)... etc....
use is up to the user and their needs... there is a danger of the battery shorting the phone out totally and it never working again too. its not something that happens often but it is a solid possibility, so basically use good judgement...
it's usually caused by over charged (u don't unplug the charger when it reach 100%).
I've been using my Note more than a year and my battery still flat as it is new.

i beg to differ... the batteries have smart circuitry to protect against this. overcharging has not been a problem for years... i personally have left one of my notes on charge for days... it always stays on charge for 5-6 hrs past it being 100% and it still is a strong battery.. also just because a battery is flat doesnt mean its good... the swelling just makes the fact it is going bad more obvious...
I agree with kawgirl

Hi guys,
First of all sorry if my english hurts your eyes
I am having an issue, but it did not look like the same as I saw about other people.
I recently installed the german version of JB on my Note. After some days, my screen started to "twinkle" or "flickering" (I don't really understand the difference between these 2 words). And my Note becomes hot. There is kind of battery drain too. Sometimes it shut down and I have to reboot it.
The fact is that I have bought my Note 6 months ago (new one), and I bought a second battery. When one is empty I got the official Samsung charger to charge it while the other one is charging with the phone.
My 2 batteries are relativily new. When I see that changing the battery is the solution, I dont see it can be applied for me. I tried to change kernel/rom/radio with clean flashes, the situation remain the same.
Do you have any idea where the problem could come from?
Thank you,
Jonathan

if you still have warranty, consult samsung service..
might be a hardware faulty as you've stated that you already tried different flashes (roms. etc)
i have this problem on a low bttery
when my battery is low when i am playing and the device is a little warm then critical battery kick in then i see some light defference as if you see wide lines of low light and other of a brighter one ,,, some times this does appear while i am surfing internet using opera mobile , always the problem is while battery low ,,, ? is this an issue with the device or what ?
Not entirely sure but it could be a problem with the digitizer. If you still have warranty it would be a good idea to get it checked.

Have read somewhere that it might be a symptom of battery trouble. Early stage. Try searching xda for symptoms of battery trouble
okay i will make sure about the battery
i already ordered this battery with charger and external back cover ,,, still waiting for it to arrive actually ( maybe two more weeks ) ,,
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...GT-N7000-5200mAh-Free-shipping/550529166.html
also i am using battery widget pro for making sure about my battery real mAh values ( how can i make my self so sure about the battery problem ?? ) and what should i do to correctly calibrate my battery on this program ? ,, right now using xxlsb rooted with philz kernel and sometimes i underclock it to 1 ghz for more battery time
EDIT : i did a small charge cycle ( 50% ==> 2% ==> 100% ) And I was really shocked !!!! estimated battery mAh was at a mere 1368mah ( samsung's stock 2500mah ) ,,, wow really low , almost half the battery
I think i am gonna try to cycle it for 2 more times until i settle the number ( min 3170mv = 2% , max 4211mv = 100% )
My battery got drained to about 4% this afternoon and when I got home I started charging my phone but now it doesn't boot anymore, connected to AC or no. It doesn't even show it's charging.
This is a new battery, not even 6 mo old. Anything I can do?
keep it connected to the charger in off condition for a couple of hours and try again... if still no go then try a working battery from another note
It's been connected to the charger for at least 8 hours now... Still it doesn't charge and it doesn't boot.
Is it a stock battery or a cheapo one?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It wasn't cheap and by the looks of it it's an original one, not the one that came with the phone, but identical in all respects.
This helped, now the phone is charging.
Hi all
A friend of mine have a 16GB Nexus 7 WiFi with a strange problem! The tablet is loosing battery juice very fast when completely off (Shut down)!
After I tested it: Charge to 100% and power off, 12 hours later when I power it on the batter is around 7x% !!! I made this test several times! We sent the tablet to an official ASUS repair center (the tablet is just 2 months old) and they presumably reconnected the battery connector! (loose connector according to them) They returned the device and the problem was the same! Sent the tablet again and this time they changed IO/FPC cable (whatever this is) but again the problem persist! Any ideas as to why this tablet behaves like this?
Any help on the matter will be greatly appreciated!

Hate to ask, but did you even check the battery usage utility or anything like that?
Have you tried changing your charger? Although from what you said it may be a problem with the unit. Try flashing 4.2.2 if you are in 4.3

How do you check that with the phone turned off? Also it wont los anything when turned off.
When turned on the battery decreases faster?
Bad battery. Period.
Wait....or bad charger. Does it drain when its shutoff while plugged in? Or unplugged?
If it drains when off and unplugged ....bad battery.
If it drains when off and plugged in....bad battery or charger.
The end.

Actually ....worse case....something is wrong with the tablet. Off is off. It should barely drain. If it is and the battery is ok....then unit is faulty.....and that I'd think would mean doom.

Lol sorry, I misread the post. Well, it's possible that it's just reading it wrong. Does the percentage go back up over time once it's turned on again?
Your battery is defective mate, if you are under warranty then go ahead & get it replaced , I also had same issues then what i did I forced them(Asus) that I want replacement then they simply replaced it ...without any trouble ..I am from India ..here they don't waste time on repairing ,they changes part , if you go twise for RMA then 3rd time whole device gets replaced ...

Similar problem
I am not sure what exactly caused this. But I had the similar problem with my Galaxy Nexus 7 / I replaced the battery with Zerolemon and I didnt get any problem afterward.
However check with manufacturer if there are any fix for this.

Okay. I apologize if this has been covered *blushface*.
I have recently rooted my note III. I love the functionality but hate the amount of time it now takes to charge. It is taking more than eight hours to get a full charge. I figured out how to manage the charge to avoid multiple charge times within a day. So plainly stated. How do I get a shorter charge time? I would like to wake up with a full charge!
2 to 3 hrs for mine to go from 10% to 100%.
Are you sure your using the supplied power supply? It has 2amp output.
Read the output stats to your charger please!

Then unfortunately u have a substantial problem my friend.
The supplied 2a charger charges at a rate of 2000mah (milliamps per hour).
The N3 battery's capacity is 3200mah.
If u drain 3000mah leaving only 200, it should only take 1 1/2 hours to reload 3000mah
(these are not "exact" numbers, but pretty close).
If it's taking you 8 hours to put 3000 mah into ur N3 batt, you have a problem with something -
8 hrs charge time should supply 16,000 mah (over 5 times the amount needed)
What do your battery stats say?
Does your device stay charged like it used to? Is it possible you set something up to do work while only plugged in and charging?
Tried another 2 amp charger?
Tried another wire?
What programs did you grant root to?
Have you ran a malware scan?
There are a lot of variables here to examine.

Thank you all for the advice. I looked into the battery stats and everything seemed normal.
The battery was performing almost as efficient as with the stock ROM. I wouldn't expect exact performance from a custom ROM OOBE from prior experience. I was not perfectly happy with the DK ROM that i flashed and suspected that the ROM may be the issue. I decided to try the Alliance ROM.
POST Alliance ROM: Battery is charging like normal again. Performance is pretty standard. Problem resolved.
Thanks to everyone for the support.
P.S. Genjo Enterprises Apps are pretty stellar. i live in a rural area with limited data coverage and the internet booster app makes a huge difference!
My note 3 is rooted running the dynamicKat rom and it never takes me more than 2hours at max to fully charge my battery.
Your reply, while making me a little jealous, has neither added anything of substance or value to the topic of resolving my issue. Please troll on another thread topic.
