[Q] weird capacitive button issue. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
I'm gonna do this as simple as possible. My problem is that the capacitive button lights stay lit even after closing screen. The weird part comes now... They stay lit even if I shutdown the phone! I have searched for a solution but found nothing. I'm on stock 1.29.401.16 firmware rooted unlocked bootloader and s-on. I will link a video if i'll get my YouTube account to work. Thanks in beforehand!

[Q] HTC One X acting wierdly, possibly bricked? Please help.

Hi everyone
I hope you can assist.
I have a stock HTC One X that I have been thinking of installing a custom ROM on but never got around to it.
Two days ago, after I had it plugged into a car charger, it started to act strangely. It would take really long to wake from hibernate. Then after a while the screen would go blank, though the LED on top would still blink. After leaving it charging overnight, it then stopped restarting all together. Now it won't restart even after a hard reset.
When I plug it in via USB, it is detected and I can view the contents of my phone via my computer.
It still will not restart. When I hold down the power key, the three buttons at the bottom flash, the phone vibrates but does not restart.
I can't seem to get into the boot loader either. The screen does not come on, holding down the power and the volume down key does not give me the bootloader menu.
At the moment, my thoughts are:
1. It is possible a hardware problem and the screen is faulty?
2. It is a software problem and re-installing either stock or a custom ROM will fix it.
Please let me know what you think and how best to resolve this.
If I send this to my carrier, I have to wait 4-6 weeks for resolution.
Thanks
Phil

I am not sure. Is there any way to check this?
At the moment, the phone is plugged in, LED is green (I think indicating it is fully charged), bottom 3 buttons are lit.
Other than that, when I hold down the power key, the bottom three lights blink, but no other response.
When I installed ADB and checked using ADB devices, it reported seeing a device.
Right now, when I press the power button, the bottom three lights switch on and off, almost like its waking up. Seems like this could be a screen issue. But I am not sure.
Ur screens dead bro. If the lights on the bottom are on then the phone is awake but since u for no display then either ur LCD died or the connector loosend. Btw ur in the wrong forum this is the HTC ONE u got the ONE X

Phone not responding to ANYTHING (screen off)

Hey everyone, i have kind of a big problem. Yesterday i rooted my phone. Fot S-off and everything not problem. Flashed Slim Bean rom and i was a happy camper. Went to work and phone was working fine. Hours later, i tried to unlock my phone by pressing the power button and nothing happened. i tried holding the power button to make the phone shutdown and the keys lit up and kept on blinking but nothing happened. I tried calling the phone and from another line and although on the other phone it sounds like its one, my one wont ring or anything. I got home and tried to fastboot reboot but the damn thing is not on debugging mode apparently, so it just says waiting for device. I need HELP ASAP!!!!!! Thanks in advanced!
If the buttons blink, keep holding the power button until they stop blinking (this will take over 10 seconds!). That will force a hard reboot.

Hold the phone directly over a bright light and try to reboot. I can't explain why this procedure works but it did for me and several others. Just make sure the light is shining on the two sensors on the top left corner of the phone.

The phone uses the light sensor to make sure the phone isn't in your pocket or some other place and isn't getting reset by accident.

Be very careful flashing AOSP based roms. There have been several users reporting "bricks" while using these roms. Both a solution and a cause are unclear.

Dude, thank you so much for that, it solved my issue! I don't know why I didn't think of it!!
If the buttons are flashing, I would consider that a response.
Just saying.

Glad it worked for you. The explanation given above makes sense as to why it works...

[Q] HTCOne Power-Off Problem

I got a confusing issue with my HTC One (T-Mobile Germany). When I sometimes push the power button to turn the device into sleep it directly wakes up by itself. So this issue is at stock (s-on, locked bootloader..) and custom rom (ARHD, TrickDroid , S-Off). It only works correctly on ViperOne with disabled capacitive buttons backligt. If capacitive buttons backlight is enabled, it appears on ViperOne too.
Got anyone a solution how to fix this problem?

I also have this issue with my HTC one.. have posted here b4 but no one replied..
I got that issue on every HTC device I owned. The Sensation, OneX and One. Not even the HTC support can help me with that.

You hit the power button, screen switches off, and then on?
I have that, but I only noticed it recently. Doesn't mean it didn't exist before. I dunno.
Yes I push the power button and the screen switches off and sometime on again. I had that with every HTC device having capacitive buttons. The only solution I found was flashing to Viper Rom and disabeling the capacitive buttons backlight.

you said that you had this issue with every htc device you had... well check my phone history, i had many htc devices, and never had this issue, but for you it seems like some app you are installing is causing this issue...... if possible, do a factory reset( I know its hard ), and then check if the problem persists... you can claim a warranty then...

With my Sensation I did that... got a new device two times and it happened again and again. But this is only if capacitive buttons backlight is on. Since I deactivated it in viper rom it never happened again. But I'd like to use Stock Rom.. and I love my One... dont want to claim a warranty again :/

[Q] (Q) HELP, HTC one, black screen, both buttons flashing

Hi I really need help with my HTC one,
I came back to it while it was charging, and the screen was on displaying dialog box saying that the phone will restart in one second. I barely had time to read the text but the phone went to a full black screen with both the back button and the home button flashing. Now these two buttons are constantly flashing even though I'm not holding any of the volume or power buttons down.
So both buttons have been flashing for over an hour now and they keep going. I've tried holding down the power button nothing happens. I tried holding down the volume keys nothing happens. Power and volume down...nothing.
I need some help thanks

Sounds maybe like a hardware problem? Try holding down power button while holding the phone directly under a bright light for around 30secs. If that doesn't work try power and volume down together, again under a bright light until your bootloader screen appears.

Bright light helped,
Power button managed to get the HTC quietly brilliant screen, but then goes to black screen and back to that htc screen again and again...
Power and volume down gets me to bootloader screen but within a few seconds I get back to the same looping htc screen...

Wait a minute...
Got passed that screen, saw my wallpaper, then it booted again...and again, and again...
Would it be because I was too anxious and went to the bootloader screen too many times?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Every time I go to the bootloader screen, I barely have time to do anything before I get back to the looping htc screen.
Now, for some reason, I got a screen with an exclamation mark in a triangle over a phone, stayed on for about two minutes, then back into the looping htc quietly brilliant screen...

Are you running everything stock? Recovery, unrooted, etc?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Stock, not rooted,
How would I know if I'm in recovery...? So most likely I would guess that I wasn't, unless I am now since fiddling around the bootloader screen (like I said, on that screen I have about two seconds where I can move up or down but then I don't have time to select an option and the phone goes to the HTC screen...)

You probably weren't in recovery. Did you get the phone new or used? If your bootloader screen says **LOCKED** at the top of the screen and you got it new, if it were me I'd take it back to where I got it.
Sorry I can't help more, maybe someone else can help if they've seen this before..
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Got it new, says locked on top of the bootloader screen.
Factory reset at that point?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Don't ask me how but now I'm passed the booting screen and can use the phone.
BUT, both buttons are flashing...
Also, can't restart...holding the power button down won't do anything

Like I said, if it were me I'd take it back for repair/replacement. That's not normal - especially for a device that's completely stock.

i'd try a factory reset if you can boot it.. if this does not help send it in for warranty.
How did you end up getting this fixed. I'm just getting this same problem and I have no clue how to fix it.

[Q] Flickering Dispaly

Hey guys
I did get a very serious thing with my phone. The screen started flickering today, and I have tried almost everything I could find on the internet.
Have wiped all the settings and so on. What I havn't done yet is flashed stock kernel.
Have any of you experience that thing and what did you do?
I had the same. But random. On stock. Pressing the power button to lock and then waking the phone worked. Untill the next time it happened.
