I don't think it due to permission, all work well, but if you go to an account (google/FB..), you could see some text-lines have same color as the settings background
This works but,
The Call Settings, White Balance, Portable wifi hotspot settings, Mobile Network Settings, Media server settings.
These are all still skinned on the dark old theme.. Why?

Yup meta inf is just a file you need when your atevflashing to the recovery...recovery stuff..

I mean if i could re-write the home.apk file without root. I have tried but is not possible to install it. I remeber (on sony xperia t)...when the new home came out ( the new one with jellyB.)..was possible to install it overwriting on the older one!
I know you are updating a lot of files, but any chance you could amend this with the latest 253 apk aswell?

Xperia Z 4.2 Keyboard/Emoji Support
Ok so after a little work and some help from tatit1011
You can now get Emoji's and the 4.2 Keyboard!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Heres How:
1. Download the Flashable ZIP from here!
2. Install in CMW or TWRP
3. Reboot
4. Go to Settings
5. Keyboard and input
6. Ensure "android keyboard" and "iwnn ime keyboard" are checked
7. Then clock on "android keyboard" and then scroll down to the bottom, click advanced settings and tick the box that says switch to other input methods.
8. Then you need to set the "android keyboard" as the Default keyboard
9. Then Disable the Xperia Keyboard (if you you can uncheck the Xperia Keyboard, freeze it with Titanium Backup)
10. Reboot
11. After that your keyboard should now be the default aosp keyboard and everytime you press the globe it would turn into the emoji keyboard.

Does the z has any problem scaning media?? I used to download files via Google chrome but nowadays theres no option in Google chrome of save link so I am unable to dwload any mp3 files so.I started dwnlding using es downloader but after dwnloading from es. Downloader the z is not scaning the files now if I download the same mp3 file using dolphin browser it immediately shows in the walkman app...does anyone knows abtt this strange bug??

Have you done anything to mediaserver? It may use battery a bit but it does scan your storage iirc.

Maybe es downloader isn't saving/downloading them properly, especially if dolphin is?
Maybe take the plunge, root the phone and re install the walkman? At least you can then use the better sounds mods too...

I was getting bored of the stock Sony boot animation on my XZ and decided it was time for a change!
So I took the boot animation from the Galaxy S4 Google Edition and replaced the Google logo with the Xperia logo using Photoshop
Hope you like it!
It should work on any firmware on the Z, ZL and ZU.
Installation using CWM/TWRP (ROOT IS REQUIRED!):
Download and flash the XperiaGoogleBootAnimation.zip file from the bottom of this post, simples.
Or if you don't have a custom recovery (AGAIN ROOT IS REQUIRED!):
Download bootanimation.zip from the bottom of this post
Copy it to your SD card (internal or external)
Using Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, move the downloaded bootanimation.zip to /system/media and overwrite when prompted.
Make sure the permissions are set to rw- r-- r--
Reboot and enjoy!
To revert to the stock boot animation:
Flash the StockXperiaBootAnimation.zip file from the bottom of this post using CWM or TWRP.
Please ask me first if you want to use it in your ROM.

It should work on any version, just push it to system/media + give permissions or flash thru cwm (the package, not pure bootanimation)

you mean the preview? dont use the XDA app, load it through chrome or another browser.

It would probably look a bit strange as the resolution is set to 1080x230 (designed for 1080p devices).
I'll see about resizing it to the Xperia U resolution, it might take a little while.
