[Q] Cannot change from GSM to LTE - Will Not Stick - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I am using the Unofficial ParanoidAndroid 3.00 and had previously tried Touchwiz UX Nature Jelly bean ROMs. In both I was unable to change to change the preferred network from GSM/WCDMA to LTE/GSM/WCDMA in both settings and using *#*#INFO#*#* and have it stick.
I on Virgin Mobile in Australia though. I've had 4G activated on my network account, have the correct APNs, and can confirm that I get a 4G signal when using the Borked ROM 3.7. That ROM works perfectly for me, but it isn't Jellybean and so there are too many features missing, and it looks ugly.
I've also checked the build.prop file and find all the settings are correct.
Code:
ro.config.lte=1
telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1
ro.telephony.default_network=9
ro.ril.def.preferred.network=9
I have noticed in *#*#INFO#*#* when I set it to LTE Only and the reception goes to zero the Current Network says Telstra Mobile instead of Optus Mobile as it should for 4G Virgin Mobile Customers.
Could be something to do with the APN not being recognised as LTE capable somewhere?
Could it be something to do with the radio? The ROM that worked used a .19L, whereas the PA ROMs use .22L.
I have tried reflashing the ROM (wipe cache/dalvik, flash). I have tried using 4G from a clean flash.
I have run out of ideas @[email protected] And now starting to wish I saved that money for the One X or stayed with my super reliable Incredible S which even has a super fantasmagorical and stable JB 4.2.2! @_____@*

Fixed. The sim card must be 4G LTE compatible. My sim card was from before 4G was released. New sim card -> 4G LTE reception.

[Q] TeamHacksung ICS Build 3 MVNO

This is a small issue but is anyone using ICS with a MVNO? I have a Virgin mobile SIM which uses the Everything Everywhere network in the UK (Orange/T-Mobile).
When the phone is using the orange network the notification drawer correctly displays this, but when on the T-Mobile network 'No service' is displayed.

Since you managed to flash ICS on your device I suppose you're comfortable doing some more hacking
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12693880&postcount=5
Maybe look at the file first and check if your provider is the one mentioned in the Finland section.
We are now in build 13 and we still get that roaming icon if we are using a MVNO
this method didn't work for me
I have the same problem with spanish Yoigo
Teamhacksung ICS MVNO roaming problem
same problem on build 16
HELP please !!
anything new about MVNO support? on my galaxy nexus in ics MVNO works without a hack, it`s not treated like a roaming network. somewhere in the process of porting to I9000 this stock ics behavior got lost. would be nice to have a better solution then switching data off in frontier areas.

Forcing 4G/LTE off to save battery

Using the Telstra based roms, I can turn 4G/LTE off and my battery easily gets me through the day, with 4G on, I have to recharge by 1pm.
On at&t based roms, there is no way to turn off 4G/LTE when you are in Australia, as all of Telstra's APN's support 4G/LTE, there is no apn you can select which disables 4G/LTE, in the Telstra roms there is an option under settings > Mobile Network which allows you to select 3G only, *#*#4636#*#* forcing to wcdma works but doesn't stick.
is there a mod that could disable the 4G/LTE modem or is this something that needs to be cooked into the ROM?
Maybe I could just kill the 4G/LTE modem "device" via a script in the console?

Get a non LTE enabled simcard, or use hdspa apns and delete the LTE apns, this will disable lte.

Why, especially when the carrier Tel$tra doesnt do non
LTE apns
Stock ROM from this carrier gives the option to just switch it off
Surely this can be cooked into other ROM's
in Australia, all SIM cards from telstra allow for 4G/LTE and all APN's use 4G, the only "odd" sim cards are the iphone ones or the ones that were 2G only, the only way to force LTE to stay off that I am aware of is either using the MIUI rom that doesnt have an 4g/LTE modem driver and so wins by failing, or using a ROM based on the Telstra rom which has an easy switch to turn off 4G/LTE

I'm no ROM developer, I don't know the first thing about the internal devily going on inside a handset, I am only aware that the MIUI ROM is incapable of 4G which to me would point to some difference in the drivers or config, whatever.
The Telstra ROM can turn 4G off, the MIUI rom doesn't have 4G and the at&t rom defaults to LTE as much as you fight it in Australia.
Now that everyone is done poking holes in my knowledge, does anyone have anything constructive to add or should I just give up
i have mine set to GSM auto.
what does that mean? i want to save battery
where do you have that set, under *#*#4636#*#* ?

makes me wonder why more devs dont use the telstra rom as a base switchable lte tethering built in higher clock speed seems to be a better base?

Can't switch from GSM (Prl) in diagnostic menu

Hey everyone, possibly an easy fix but its alluding me right now. For the life of my phone I cannot switch off GSM in the hidden menu to LTE. Currently running the latest PAC ROM on AT&T. I've done several clean flashes if this and multiple other ROMs with no luck. Factory reset when switching from Sense to non-sense based. Tried previous backups that I know had LTE working. My APN is correct, I've checked it several times and even got my tech support team to help out ( I work for AT&T) and we're kinda stumped. Again this may be such an easy fix I'm just not thinking about, so I apologize in advance. PS I did attempt to change APNs and preferred network, but none stick.
Thanks again for any help and all the awesome work being done for our phone

[Q] LG G2 VS980 Data on Rogers Wireless

I just purchased a Verizon-branded VS980, for use with Cityfone (on the Rogers network). I have no problems with voice calls, and my APN settings seem to have automatically populated from my SIM card and look correct. I believe this phone should be able to pick up LTE (700mhz) in my area, and it should support the hspa frequencies.
Anyway, I have rooted and installed cyanogenmod, but that had no effect. I've selected just LTE networks, just HSPA, or just GSM - it connects to HSPA and GSM, but I get data on neither. It shows GSM Disconnects: =======Data======= on the phone info screen
It was like this with the stock rom, and I have rooted and updated the ROM to Cyaonogenmod to see if that would change anything. It made no difference. I am using baseband 24A if that matters.
Can someone tell me what I'm missing?

LTE on my 910H

First of all let me apologize to all those who I did not believe when they said they got LTE on their H version of the Note 4.
What I did was download the C version for Croatia (tele2) from www.sammobile.com.
I then removed the modem, hidden, and, sboot.bin from the firmware and re-packaged it using TAR_MD5_PACKAGER.
In recovery I factory reset the device, powered off and installed my packaged MD5 of Croatia (tele2) using Odin.
Then I flashed a C version modem even though it failed.
The problem is after a while I loose LTE. It will switch from LTE to 3G then to HSPA+.
I have changed my build prop to mimic an AT&T phone as well as the CSC others.xml file to mimic an AT&T phone and used AT&T's NxtGen APN but eventually I will lose LTE.
I can go into settings then More networks then Mobile networks then chose Network mode and switch from LTE/WCDMA/GSM to WCDMA/GSM and then back to LTE/WCDMA/GSM to get LTE working again but eventually I lose LTE and am back to H+.
I have done speed tests and I do get comparable speeds that I normally get on my AT&T LTE devices so I am sure that I am really getting LTE. Has anyone figured out a way to keep LTE without having to restart or go through the settings to get it back?
By the way I am not sure that it matters what firmware of the C version you use as long as you factory reset.
Edit: Added another screenshot, it seems that it only kicks me off of LTE when the signal is too weak and the phone has switched back to LTE at times on it's own.
Sounds like you need to either reinstall the original stock firmware for your Note 4 or install another custom ROM for it. As it seems the LTE drivers for the ROM that you are currently using aren't working very well.
Or your Note 4 may have developed a fault and needs to be repaired/replaced.
Also since you have a N910H, which is a 3G model of the Note 4 you should not have LTE/4G capabilities.
