I have an international (Taiwan) HTC one running firmware version 1.29 with android 4.1.2 and I noticed that the 4.2.2 update has come out but I've been hitting the check update button all day but it still says “your phone is up to date ". I've tried rebooting the phone several times but still no luck.
Also I noticed that people on xda are talking about a 2.17 firmware that I also never received. Can someone tell me what's going on and how to get the OTA update?
Thanks in advance

2.17 is a leaked ROM, not officially released. Check what CID you are on just to make sure you're actually holding a Taiwanese set.
Thanks for the response. How do I check for my CID? I'm pretty sure I have a Taiwanese handset since I bought it from a Taiwanese carrier (chunghua).

After S-OFFing my One, I notice a small change.
In the Setting -> About -> Tell HTC and error reporting: I got a new warning message below saying this is a Test Device.
Pls refer to attached image.
Is this an intended purpose of S-OFF? Anyway to turn off automatic report sending?
Thanks
Yeah this is what will occur. Your in essence running the device with no security in a test mode.

There is a way to get rid of that by freezing or uninstalling one of the HTC system apps, but I can't recall which one at the moment. I froze a bunch of that crap a while ago, and I'm not getting that message. It will remove the "Tell HTC" option altogether.
so does this mean HTC knows yr device is not unlocked?
meaning now yr device is registered in HTC dev as unlocked?
With TMo phone, bootloader unlocked, SIM unlocked, S-OFF and SuperCID, I don't see this warning in my phone. It may be the warning for developer Rom only.

I got this after running one of the RUU's on this forum. I am guessing the RUU in question is a test ROM. Now on a custom rom, I do not get that.
Yea...im on stock 1.29 rom that shipped with the device. No ruu flash before.
I'll try to s-on then s-off later. Let's hope it doesn't appear anymore.
On a custom ROM the Tell HTC option isn't even there

That red writing is only there when you have S-OFF. I installed OTA updates with S-OFF and unlocked bootloader.
So should we worry that it's sending info automatically to HTC or can we just ignore that red warning?

I can't do that yet since I haven't rooted, going to wait until official 4.2.2 first maybe. But like they say, the problem isn't present on custom roms anyway

can you guys test with wireshark for root or bitshark if you get a ****load of trafic to collector.newrelic.com too when you are on a stock rom?
I believe that red warning message applied for Developer edition based-rom.
I converted my AT&T HTC One to an International One so I could get OTA more rapidly. I used the following RUU to convert the phone and I do get the same message. However I haven't noticed anything in regards to not working and MobileIron (which we use for corporate exchange/security) has not flagged the device as being modified.
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13 .3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe
I've purchased a HTC Butterfly s from Malaysia about 3 weeks back and I've yet to receive any updates . I see majority of the members here had already received their updates . Is it normal or am I missing out on something ? My current software number is 1.11.707.1 . So far the phone is in excellent condition..
Thank you :fingers-crossed:
I'm in Singapore. Same thing. No update yet.

Alright buddy , I thought I was the only one having this problem , thanks :good::fingers-crossed:
I suppose most of us have the HK version of the phone, which is why we got our update already. In other countries where the phone is sold officially, updates may be delayed a bit.
If you want the update ahead of time, you can always grab the updated dump of the stock ROM, but that would most probably mean unlocking the bootloader.

Well first things first, what firmware you on now, and what's you CID? Post a "fastboot getval all" (remove IMEI and s/n before posting).
The reason I'm asking, that as far as I know (could be wrong), I believe the latest available official OTA is for 4.2.2, firmware 2.24.401.8, with the exception of Taiwan and US Developer Edition.

Have you tried running your zone RUU? If none available, then convert to international model and run x.x.401.x RUU or try to install 4.2.2 modems..

Can you verify IMEI/ Baseband being there?
I am thinking perhaps your phone is either borked or maybe blacklisted?

Has anyone else been receiving an error when updating their profile with the new OTA update? Additionally is anyone receiving error 1233 when trying to update their PRL? If so has anyone found a solution? I found a few people complaining about the issue on various threads here and around the internet but with no solution. This seems to be causing issue with both rooted and non rooted phones.
In my case I am S-OFF rooted. Took the update with stock recovery.
I figured it might be worth while to have this in one thread.
In my case these two functions are useful as I am in a poor coverage area and am now constantly receiving the "no data connection" error. That said these issues still persist in well covered areas.
I'm getting the same thing after taking the update..... Thought it was only me.... Was reading online n people who were having this issue said it usually corrects itself

Currently: Latest Viperone rom, 3.05.651.5 Full Firmware w/o hboot, boot, recovery (fastboot flashable) (released today), s-off and with chas123's epst only zip mod
Updating PRL is not an issue for me, nor is profile, all is working well :good:

I was able to resolve this issue by running the latest RUU. I have left my phone un rooted for now so it was either a bad update or is related to root....

Same Problem
Ever since the new update, 3.05.651.5, I get error code 1233 when trying to update PRL and also can't update my Profile. I called HTC they said it was a Sprint error code so I called Sprint and they re-provisioned my phone. This was unsuccessful and told me to wait a day or so. There are quite a few people having the same issue and the latest word on the Sprint Forums is that HTC is aware of the problem and working on it. My HTC ONE is "stock". Not rooted.

Yes it will wipe the phone.
Running the RUU seems to fix this issue for everyone thus far. It must be some issue with residual files left behind from the older version when taking the OTA.

If by download another copy you mean the updates provided in other threads you could try it but it did not work for me. The RUU was the only solution.
