So I remember seeing someone say something about a feature in CWM touch Philz edition that lets you automatically copy things from that weird /0 folder into the regular file structure to flash back to a regular sense rom. Does it do this automagically? I really love these aosp roms but since they dont have dialer codes and prl/profile update I just really need to go back to sense.

Exactly what question says on title. I tried doing it through clockwork recovery, but froze on (installing updates..). Answers would be very much appreciated, thanks.
You have to unzip the file and change icons like that. You can't simply flash the zip. What launcher are u using?

Use CWM Recovery and install from Zip if it's a CWM flashable
There has been a lot of discussion on what works on ClockWorkMod v3 and what doesn't. One of the biggest problems (besides ROM installations) is how to apply existing ZIP files that don't work in CWM3 because they are outdated.
So, if you have upgraded to CWM v3 and want to use some old zips there is an answer
nubecoder in the Android Development and Hacking > Android Software Development forum came up with an excellent tool for converting the old update-script to the new updater-scrip and binary needed for CWM3
Give it a look:

Extract the zip to a folder. Run it. Select open then the zip or script you want to convert. then save it.
Great find Nils. I guess I need to convert mine.
EDIT: It converted them all perfectly, once I realized I needed to choose "Incredible" from the device menu. LOL
If you want an alternative to using the script converter I attached 2 zip files. One is for updates to the /system/app/ folder and the other is /system/framework/ folder
All you need to do is use 7zip to copy (drag and drop) your files to the appropriate sub folder in the zip file.
You can then name the zip file to whatever you like.
Sorry to muck up the thread with this question but since it's on topic... how do i flash back to the old version of CWM? since rom manager just comes up with an error...
nevermind I got one of the older 2.5 to work
This app was updated just this morning with the option to convert scripts for the incredible. I've tried it on a few zips and it works perfect

I could not get the EMMC to mount to my PC but other than that everything seems good.
Now if I could just change the 3G icon to the one that comes with the Inc 2 I will be all set. I have tried Ninjamorph and flashing a zip file but cannot get it changed.

The icons you're looking for are in the SystemUI.apk, in res/drawable-hdpi. The pngs you are looking for are called stat_sys_data_*_3g_lte.png
You should be able to extract those images (should be 3-4), and remove the "_lte" from the filenames, and then drag these images back into the res/drawable-hdpi folder, and use adb or root explorer to push the SystemUI.apk to the data/*-System/system.app folder (look into how the rom is set up, that's just a default path). Once you have it in place, reboot, and you should be set.
Make a nandroid before doing this, as I'm no themer lol. If you have any trouble, let me know and I'll hook you up.

No bud put the apk on your pc's desktop, extract it and inside the extracted folder go to the path that fowty named out and look for the exact file names as well. Rename them like he said. Now open the apk on your desktop...the actuall apk and drop the renamed images into there proper path. and then push that apk back to data/*-System/system.app
Just wanted to report that emmc mount to pc does not appear to work for me, either. Emmc music works fine.
Just curious, joelz kingdom rom appears to have a modified mail.apk that bypasses the Exchange mail security. If I wanted to apply that apk to this rom, should it work? I tried replacing just the mail.apk, and the app opens, but fc's when I select the mail provider to add. Just wondering you guys' thoughts, didn't know if I needed to also copy other files, or if it just won't work. Thanks.

Ok I found the four icons in a systemui.apk folder that I had on the SD card of the phone. How do I get the renamed icons back onto the phone? Do I do it on the SD card or the phone's internal memory. On this stock 3.o ROM, I cannot mouth the phone's internal memory to my PC

That's what the edit button is for
The easiest way to do this is on a pc with 7zip, as you just drag and drop and done. If you can shoot me the SystemUI.apk from the rom I'll get it set up for you.

Make your own flashable zip so you can add any song you like on to your phone.
Instructions:
1. Download the DIY-sounds.zip
2. Open zip but do not extract it
3. Navigate through "system" until you get to the folder that you want to make changes to
4. Drag and drop your song in that folder
> e.g. if you want a new alarm, navigate to "alarms" folder and drop your song in to the alarms folder
5. Delete the README.txt
6. Navigate to the other folders and add your songs there too
> If you don't want to add any other songs, just delete the README.txt files in each of the other folders
7. Nandroid backup
8. Flash in recovery
Note: Don't delete the README.txt files without first putting something in that folder, or the directories will disappear
Stock HTC sounds
These are stock HTC Desire HD sounds in a flashable zip format
Have you just flashed a new AOSP rom and you've realised that all of your favourite ringtones or notifications or alarms sounds are gone now?
I got used to the new sounds, but after briefly flashing back to stock recently I realised how much I missed the old ones!
There are two formats available -
1- Merge the stock sounds to the phone so that you keep all of the AOSP sounds as well (stock-sounds-merged.zip)
2- Remove all of the AOSP sounds and just have the stock HTC sounds on the phone (stock-sounds-only.zip)
Instructions:
1. Nandroid backup!
2. Flash zip in recovery
3. Enjoy
When flashing a new rom just stay in recovery and flash this zip straight after

Thanks for creating the diy flashable zip, it works perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for to add ringtones and notifications to my Nexus S.

Open the zip file without extracting it, add a folder under stock-sounds-merged.zip/system/media/audio/ called ui, and drop your sounds in there.

I think so...I've been doing this with my own script on my Samsung SPH-L720 with CyanogenMod 13 and the only issue I've had is getting the media scanner to notice the new sounds. Give it a go and see if it works. If it doesn't, I might have something that could work instead.
I can't find my flashable zips in 'choose zip from sdcard'. I tried to put it in a specific folder that I made but it is invisible in clockwork recovery. Also I noticed that old files are visible in clockwork recovery although I already deleted those old files. I can't flash custom rom because of this.
Also when I installed ARHD Google play edition 4.2.2 my virtual sdcard contents were all deleted and my backups gone. I don't know what happened, the aroma installer said that the virtual sdcard will remain untouched. Please help
Is it safe to just reflash CWM? I am having problems with cwm it can't find any file that I put in my sdcard.
-edit-
I restored my phone, safely returned from stock but problem not solved..
please help..

Is there a 0/ entry in you CWM folder list?....... if so your files are in that folder
4.2.2 has a different folder structure to support multiple user.
When you copy a custom ROM.zip to the phone, you find it under SDcard/0/
Make yourself familiar with the new handling of SDcard under 4.2.2
It is explained in the forums
