You also should know that PC Companion doesn't work for unlocked devices, so forget about it if you are unlocked.

Your phone need to be shutdown for the flashmode (download mode) so the USB debugging has nothing to do, you just need to shutdown the phone, press the - volume button and plug the USB cable in same time when it asked.

Have you tried to connect the device via fastboot, flash a standalone kernel with a recovery included and flash a rom via recovery?(DoomKernel for example).
Maybe this is a bit too much information if you are new to unlocked bootloaders, but all the steps are well detailed on development section of the forum, search a bit for fastboot instructions and drivers needed, then head on to DoomKernel thread for a standalone kernel. And sorry I cant give you links and stuff, I'm on the phone and it is quite a trip to provide all the links.

Well, at least is not dead.
For the looks of it, for me it seems like a driver corruption.

Restore it with Sony Update Service and resize your ****in photo DUDE!
PS: Do you really destroyed your screen

I would say its drivers too; have you tried reinstalling flashtool and drivers.
Does your pc make a sound when you connect your phone in flash mode; does it recognise it?
Also, may be a weird one but, is your battery charged over 50%.
If you want to use SUS or PC Companion you have to relock your Bootloader first by restoring your TA partition considering you backed it up

If you backed it up with Backup-TA then you can run Backup-TA again while your phone is plugged in and select the option to Restore TA.

[Q] lost flashmode (only able to run fastboot mode)

It seems my LT30p lost flashmode.
After upgrading to 7.0.A.3.195 via "Sony PC Companion 2.1" I flashed the older LT30p_4.0.4_Vodafone.ftf with the flashtool to get back root option.
All works fine.
Now I want to flash the "LT30p_7.0.A.3.195_Vodafone_DE.ftf" I created from the "Sony PC Companion" folder with flashtool.
My problem is, the phone only is able to go into fastboot mode (irrelevant pressing volume down or up).
I re-installed the flashtool-drivers without any improvements.
What have I done and how am I able to get back the flashmode mode for my phone?
Thanks in advance.

You seem to be going around the houses. If you flash that you will lose root again. The only way to root on .195 is with an unsecure kernal and unlocked bootloader.
Just upgrade again through pccompanion and then unlock bootloader and flash advanced stock kernel v4.

Thank you. I know that at first I lost root again.
I thought (and that's I understood from that post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33568696&postcount=48) that it will possible to flash the ftf file instead of using the "PC Companion" software. I am not happy to lose my holo hd launcher's settings e.g.
I hoped it will work as you described here:
Part 2. Rooting
If you are on 7.0.A.1.303, follow Bin4ry's method from post 2.
If you are on 7.0.A.3.195, follow the other method in the how to root section from post 2.

OK, There is no such thing as flashboot mode. Its either flashmode or fastboot.
Try this
download and install latest flashtool.
Goto driver folder and install drivers for fastboot/flashmode/xperia tx
Then open flashtool and drag and drop the .ftf you want to flash into the open window of flashtool. Wait untill flashtool tells you to connect phone.
Turn phone off, count to 10, hold volume down button and connect usb cable

That's the problem. I don#t know what happend to the phone, but there is no flashmode any more.
It might be, that there is no flashmode with that ftf?

I did all of them more than once except using PC Companion. Thank you.
I will not use this tool, because it's not my favor to re-install the halo hd gui and moving other tools via root explorer. I'll wait for OTA, if vodafone germany will rollout 7.0.A.3.195 via ota.
If not, I'll see and look further. But I explain, this has been my first and also my very last Sony Smartphone.
thanks again.

You give up too easily.
Uninstall flashtool and all sony software from your PC and reinstall.
Also, you can make a backup of your system using recovery and flash your /data back in recovery after you have sorted the problem.
Personally, i will never get another phone other than sony.

Thanks again, I am familiar with CWM. I used many different roms with my Galaxy S1 and later with my SIII, too.
With Samsung flashing firmware / custom roms is much easier then with Sony Xperia.
I installed all the needed stuff on an other computer I have in my household and voila it works.
I flashed the rom without wipe data and it works, still without root.
After unlocking boot loader and flashing the V4 comes the shock: all my apps are gone and I have to re-install all my stuff, accounts, gui and so on. I hate that work. Okay, Titanium Backup helps, but it costs many time to get back that system I have had previously.
CWM is a great thing to flashing ROMs and kernels, too. Also great if you want to restore an full image, but to restore (user) data often Titanium Backup is the better choise. But that are only my two cents.

If you read the whole of the instructions from the SOny site about unlocking the bootloader it clearly states that all data will be lost and that you should make a backup of it.
Certain content on your phone may also be inaccessible due to the removal of DRM security keys and the secure user data partition while unlocking the boot loader. We advise you to create backups, since user data, settings and accounts will be removed.

[Solved] Help!! Xperia Z bricked after trying to unlock bootloader

[solved] Sorry for my English first, I have been reading thousand thread but with no luck.
My xperia Z is
- locked bootloader
- no root
- didn't install driver properly (I guess)
I was trying to unlock bootloader, but the driver wasn't installed properly somehow as using flashtool even I followed step by step to install. Then, it got stuck for an hour at "Device connected in flash mode". I had to reset the device (power with - volume) with no choice. Now I keep rebooting at the colorful wave after Song logo.
I know flashtool is the only choice for me now, but i can't go in fastboot mode(- volume then plug in usb) because of the bad ADB driver probably. LED is no light (no blue, red, green) at all.
Also, ADB driver that i need to install now, but boot loop on my device is so swift that ADB driver doesn't have enough time to install to my device.
I am stuck at this stage for a few days. Any idea what I should do now???
PS: using latest flashtool

Since you have a locked BL, Flashtool isn't your only solution...
Install the correct drivers if you haven't already, after that use Sony's updating service to restore your phone.

I just tried sony's updaing service in which fastboot mode was needed.
Since i install the bad ADB driver, how can i install the driver at this stage? should I install from flashtool?
I did uninstalled the driver and install back again from flashtool. Fastboot mode doesn't seem to response at all means. I actually followed the step by step guide from flashtool thread, but i don't think i install the driver properly somehow.

Uhm, the drivers are installed on your PC, it should work on your phone no matter what.
Of course, you need to have installed the correct drivers and in the correct way. Try to reinstall the drivers (Sony Updating service will give you a link if I'm correct, use that one).
After that use another usb port and try it again.

prove me wrong if i say thing wrong. the ADB driver are installed on PC only and will not install on device? if so, no matter what my device status is, it should be able to connect to fastboot mode as long as it has enough battery?
Also, i just checked Sony Updating service that doesn't provide the driver and function like fasttool. Could you kindly send me the link of this driver so as to not screwing this up again?
You don't need fastboot drivers to use sony update service.
Anyway sus should install the drivers for you when you connect the phone by holding volume down.
You should download sus software not using the web update.
When you connect the phone go to device manager on your pc and check if all the drivers are ok and no yellow signs.

[Q] Phone keeps waking up while in flashmode

Hello. I'm trying to root my device by downgrading it first. So i need to flash the rom. I had my phone in flashmode. But in a minute or two the phone will wake up. And i can't continue my flashing because of that. Anyone know supposed to be the problem? Sorry im noob at this stuff
Don't connect ur phone in flash mode until flash tool asks for it. The moment flash tool indicates u to connect ur device on, only then connect it in flash mode. Once u load the ftf in flashtool, it takes a min to process the files after which it notifies for u to connect ur phone. Cheers

Yeah i did redownload it. It's still the same. My XZ is 10.4.B.0.101 and i'm trying to downgrade it to 10.3.1.A.2.67. And my device is 4.3. Don't know if it's the firmware that i'm downgrading or what..
Next time please post in the Q/A section which is DIRECTLY BELOW the general section.
Also tagging a post as a question in the general section will bring up a prompt telling you it doesn't belong here if i recall correctly..

Download the ftf from other place. Maybe the site you downloaded from has uploaded a damaged ftf:
And for your first problem try reinstall flashtool and when the device turn on when you in flashmode hold vol+ and power button for 15 seconds
Hope that helped:angel:

no way man!its not a soft brick! you cant use flash mode or fastboot mode . just emergency mode ! and thats not working for me neither.
dont know what to do... seems its dead
What is emergency mode?
If there is no response then stick it on charge for 24 hours, do not touch it then try flashing a stock FTF again
Greg is trying to help you mate.
And he's right, there's a time difference and you have to wait for guys to see your thread...
Check do you have latest flashtool
Check do you have correct drivers
Check is your ftf corrupted (download a new one)
, hard restart your device (vol up+power).
Open flashtool and hit start, wait till flashtool prepares fw and ask you to connect device.
Then connect device.
If that won't work, try to download another ftf file...
Maybe you have corrupted ftf and that's causing a problem...

Are you sure you restored right/yours TS backup?
I have a friend who restored Z1 TA backup to Z2, this things happen so who knows...
It's really odd if you restored your backup on stock fw and something like that happened..
Now I realized you wrote "I had flashtool problems..."
I thought you have problems in flashtool now, that's why I said try with another ftf or another flashtool version...
If you got that, and you did, while you were flashing ftf....I believe you are, unfortunately, right, this is hard brick.
BTW - which firmware you tried to flash?

you need to be on a stock kernel if you relock the bootloader.
You should have flashed a stock FTF immediately after relocking and before restarting.
The solution is to flash a stock FTF
and you have not done this yet

-- Recover my data from the dead prev . install
--Have a ROM ( stock or custom ) with Magisk installed.
My plan :
-- Flashtool install 4.4 FTF
-- _______________ <----- Need help here. How do I get magisk working ?
Note that AFAIK for locked bootloader , /system is RO

xperia sp stuck in bootloop!

hello guys im new to sony, and got my xperia sp just 1 week ago!
here's what i did.
1. rooted using towelroot
2. installed super su from play store
3. installed twrp with a tool,
4. copied xperianzev3 and gapps to sd card
5. backup
6. did wipes and flashed rom and gapps via twrp
everything went fine and the rom was good,
i was stupid enough to boot into recovery and restore the backup i made( boot.img also)
still the phone was working but gapps were crashing repeatedly!
so i booted into recovery but there was no recovery! i installed the recovery again with the tool
now the phone is stuck in bootloop, is constantly rebooting ( first sony logo, then xpria then the color splash, then reboot!)
please help me with details! i know nothing about flashtool , fastboot!
my phone is c5306 factory unlocked, locked bootloader!
Download the stock .FTF file for your Xperia SP model. Download Flashtool by androxyde and also install Xperia drivers for your Windows pc which come along with the Flashtool.
Place your downloaded stock .FTF file inside (C:/Flashtool/Firmwares) here C is normal drive where Flashtool installs you can respective drive with which you want. Then make sure your phone is switched off.
Open Flashtool and thn hit smart lighting button on top left and from there select flashmode and click OK.
There you will see your downloaded ftf if you placed it under firmware folder.
Now just select it and click flash and wait for the Flashtool to load files. Once it's done then you will see a menu popping up saying to connect your device. With device switched off press and hold power button and Volume down button to connect it into flashmode and that's it wait for the flashtoool to do the job. Once it is complete then disconnect your device and start it and wait until it loads.
Hope I helped. Hit thanks if I did

That seems to be a firmware error. Try redownloading the stock Firmware again or try another version

Ok so im sorry to say that the Firmware should be the problem. I suggest you download the stock FTF file for Singapore, my country as it seems that your stock FTF file might have been uploaded wrongly. There is also a chance that your phone might have a NAND error which means that your hardware might have a hardware error.

If youre still receiving errors, you might need to send it for repair. Im not sure whether you'll still have your warranty intact though...
