I wanted to start this thread in order to help myself and others who don't know exaxtally what S-OFF and SUPER CID is. My HTC ONE IS rooted, unlocked and s-off. How do you get super CID? Do you get it by opening term emulator and type commands like you do to reset the tampered flag? what exactally can you accomplish with super CID? Thank you in advanced. I would like to flash a 4.2.2 ROM but I am on Sprint and there are no ROMs that I can flash.

Edit: supercid will allow you to flash roms that are still cdma. Not gsm these are diiferent phones. Like verizon is cdma for example. There is no point. If u really want to use this.

Again No point for cdma dont do it.

+1 to the above.
Super CID is really intended for GSM phones so they can flash radios from other GSM carriers. There's not much point for CDMA phones.
The Thanks button is just to avoid "THANKS" posts in threads. Nothing more. Don't defeat the purpose of why it was introduced.
If I wanted to get one of my ones on Verizon can I do it?

U can unlock the bootloader via the htcdev.com site.
The fact you have s-off is very special as every vivid I have seen is s-on

Dude that's a nice find. It can help getting kernels to flash in recovery. I'll talk to TheCube if I was you to see what files are where or so.

*PLEASE*, join us on IRC at #htc-holiday on freenode. We will help you to get what we need off of it, and this may very well lead us to a complete root / S-Off. I am IanWizard, and also, IOMonster, or any of the other users that are listed as "voiced" can help you, or put you in contact with us. This is very incredible. We hope to see you soon.

Cruising through but s-off means security off. You can write to certain partitions like the radio ect which you can't do with HTC unlock

OMG!
!!Thank you!!
...I don't care how you got it - you have S-OFF on your phone!
**begins to drool**
..I wish I was a dev. Good luck to all those who are about to work on this - all the guys like me are looking forward to playing with the spoils of your labors..lol. If only I knew linux, I'd be glad to help.
So, here's some information that I've gathered from jcase so far about your phone...
It would appear that you have Radio S-OFF, which is great news for you and you only right now.
Basically, it means that you have full access to your /system partition and almost everything else without using the HTCDev unlock tool. Any root you attempt will stick just fine.
Some background information, as I understand it to be:
HBOOT gets it's s-on or s-off status by querying the radio and asking for the "secuflag" (might be "secflag"-- just going off the top of my memory). Once HBOOT receives it's answer, it proceeds to either lock or leave unlocked certain partitions.
All this is to say that the only thing different between your phone and say, mine, is the radio config partition where "secuflag" is stored. The problem lies in the fact that on our devices, we can't access the radio config partition (as far as I know) to manually set that flag.
However, it is possible that just having a copy of your radio config partition could lead to some interesting discoveries in regards to where the flag is and what value it should be set to if we wish to try it on our phones.
Either way, it'd be great if you could stop by #htc-holiday and ping me (IOMonster) or IanWizard on IRC. What you have could potentially be a huge help to us-- or just a special bonus for you and you alone
Thanks!
I just pray this leads to a full s-off method. I don't wanna root my Vivid until s-off is achieved. Too used to flashing with s-off from my Inspire.

Woow. S-off vivid. How did you got it or make it to s-off. I have an AT&T htc jetstream and want to s-off. Is there anyone can help me to unlock the secuflag on vivid and jetstream? I hate that at&t firmware.

Maybe HTC is getting tired of us harrasing them and leaked this? Cause they ... Care about Devs ....
Who wants to be able to flash completely from your phone without fastbooting the kernel?
Looks lot closer now.

Hello. im sorry if this is not the right places, but here is what i can tell you.
I did the whole s-off, custom hboot, custom recovery business.
changes the ap? to 111111 (cant remember how many it was) to use the att update to ics.
installed virtuous rom.
i used the sim from my iphone 4 with a sim adapter to make it fit properly.
i got my unlock code. not sure if i can say where, so i wont. i got the link somewhere on xda and it seemed legit.
i just get unsuccesfulll...
and im scared to do it again, because i dont know how many more tried i have, it might only be 1 more time.
11140626
IMEI # 358730040400582
i double checked, this is correct.
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
could that be messing up my unlock?
going to try flashing back to stock rogers, i have a feeling thats whats messing it up

In the middle of downloading the stock RUU again...in the same boat here.
By chance is there any other way around this?
Not sure if this has any bearing, but could it have anything to do with the fact that I have changed my CID to 111111 from what it was previously (ROGERS3 - or something...dont remember what it was doh!).
Thanks
No, supercid did not effect it, just go back to stock, sim should unlock now, and repeated the process back to the way you want, good luck, I can't really offer much more advice, I would concider myself a noob that reads alot.

Where did you get your unlock code from?
I just searched xda for good references, prob the best way to find one

I believe you have to use the unlock code on the stock non rooted non unlocked phone before upgrading.

s-off isnt available. You dont need s-off to flash roms and kernels. You need root and your bootloader unlocked. Plenty of threads about how. look for hasoons toolkit.

This post is a little dead but I'd like to seek clarification at what exactly you can and can't do with S-on/off. It's still a little fuzzier there. Perhaps some concrete examples?

Nice, thanks for the link JoeDoe.
So s-off will be essential in playing with the radio bands, among a bunch of other stuff. Predictions on how long it takes our amazing devs to bust through s-on? (o:
The unrevoked did not give me s-off and other ideas. Thanks.

i don't think it is for the One
in time you will probably get it, but quicker and like the One S you'll get radio installers like Tecardo's and MrHydes that require no s-off. Some put the radio into System partition a way to bypass not having s-off
One S has no s-off but with these tools from the devs, no problem

Unrevoked is not for this device. It was initially developed for Evo 4g (unrEVOked). That thread was linked for clarification of ramifications of s-off. Generally you need s-off to update radios.

Handman, I used the guide you posted on my thread in the T-mo forum to supercid to 11111111, flash the factory hboot from that page, then change the cid back to T-mo. In my case it was T-MOB010. Worked like a charm.
I have s-off. Now if I get super CID can I flash any room I want? I really want to flash viper ROM 1.1.1. Or ARHD 11.5. but I am on sprint and have a very limited selection of ROMs to choose from. I've read over people's posts and I get mixed reviews saying don't do it or do it! Please someone shed some light on the subject for me. Thank you

Again. You cannot flash any rom you want only cdma not gsm. ViperOne is gsm. So u cannot flash this. Check the linked threads.

My answer was the same exact thing as his, I only went a little further to explain why GSM phones need it and hence it becomes useless for CDMA phones.
