I found a zip file and installed the camera w/ photosphere but am having no success taking pictures with it.http://d-h.st/ac5
Does anyone know if Bionic supports this? I've never been good at taking panoramas so I'm not sure if its me or the camera?

Bionic doesn't have the hardware required to take photo spheres.
Baked Nexus 10
I suspected as much. Thanks for the info.

Any idea what hardware is required that we don't have for this?
I'd assume you'd just need the camera and accelerometers, but that's just an assumption and obviously a wrong one.

Yes. Bionic does not have gyroscope.
..
Sorry, i don't mean to drag this topic into oblivion.. But the bionic does have 3 axis tilt sensors. Is that not the main purpose of a gyroscope? Or is it that picky that it only wants to read from a gyro? I understand no one here built the app, but it just doesn't add up in my head

Just wanted to let anyone here interested know, there is a ROM with working photosphere for Bionic.
RAGING BIONIC by BadAzzBionic
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/23843-rom-jb-raging-bionic-7242013/
I haven't loaded it up (I'm still on ICS, this is a stock based JB ROM), so I haven't tried it at all.
May be worth a look. The ROMs pretty like-able from what I skimmed over as well.

Yeah somebody has to have an answer to this, where is Google Body!?!
Guys chill out it's probably not out yet. Google may be tweaking it more.

Was just really hoping it was out because reviewers have it on their xooms
Yeah kind of weird that it was shown off in reviews but it is MIA.
It will be up on the market next week...I'm good friends with the founder of the company that licenses it to Google.
Good to know.

Without being rooted can I extract the apk somehow?

Do you have adb setup? If so do "adb pull /data/app/com.google.android.apps.body.apk ./" and that will get it on your computer. Then just upload it here.
How did u get it to download?

Yes I think he means Steel Droid 3... Also, just to make sure, you DO have an XT862 right? I've heard the Steel Droid ROM will screw up an XT860. Just being thorough.

Ive never tried SD but both Monster and Liberty worked well for me.

This is very light use (some texts/tweets/angry birds/randomness) but still it shows theres no real standyby leak on Liberty, and ive seen similar performance on Monster.
All goes to show that at this point all the major ones are basically the same. You'll even see decent battery life from the stock ROM (5.6.890 update) once debloated.
Thanks for mentioning that, Savior057. I busted my XT860 by trying to flash Steel Droid. If your phone is an XT860, there are no ROMS available yet (except the Stock Chinese ROM (SBF/XML that can be flashed via Fastboot) - but I wouldn't flash that unless you absolutely had to! There is no stock Bell XT860 SBF/XML flash available yet).

I tried both SD and Liberty. This is the result of my experiment.
I tried SD 3 first. It had a very good battery life. Then I tried Liberty Gold. It was not good so went back to SD 3. Now, a couple of days ago, I flashed Liberty 1.2. the battery life is much better than SD 3. 24 hours after charging, I still have 60% left with moderate usage.
I hope this helps.
P.s: I also tried Monster 12. I was not impressed.
I have a Motorola droid 3 from Verizon everything is ok.. Its with stock rom on it
But the quality of the pictures indoor and outdoor is horrible they are very blurry the settings are to 8 mp ... but the pictures look like something i would of taken with a 1.3 mp camera out of focus blurred just very poor.
Did anybody else have this problem? is there a solution.
I am on stock android 2.3.4
Is there an update that i can make that will fix this problem ?
Very rarely some pictures turn out OK but i mean its like 1 out of 10 so this is how i know that the camera is capable of taking ok pictures.
Whats your system version

ok an update i bought the phone brand new never used by anybody before from Verizon... i connected it to my wifi and it told me he has updated to the latest version available for him and that seems to be 2.3.4 gingerbread.
Do i have to manually update my droid 3 ? Now it tells me that there are no updates available and my device is up to date.
It may be then. Look at Settings and go to the bottom option and see what version of software you have. Also, do you have the plastic over the camera still?

The newest version is 5.7.906. Note that this is still android version 2.3.4.

this is with my photos too... i think its just kinda started to get outdated as a camera... But it gets the job done.
I have a friend with a prism and his 3.2 megapixel camera looks the same if not equal as mine.
Im selling a phone on ebay and this is the pic from the droid 3

Hi all,
Curious to know if anyone has the Sense 5.0 camera apk and if it'll work with CM 10.1... I love having stock Android but the camera is well not so good. Probably not even possible without having Sense but though it'd be worth a shot.

Like you said, it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot, but I doubt that it will work. Probably framework-dependent, or something else that requires sense.

Anyone know how to use this feature? I'm looking in the gallery at some pictures I took with the phone, but I don't see an option. Is there something I need to turn on in the settings?
Also trying to use it, but it never suggests the "best shot"...
It happened once for me. It's more hit or miss I think. But what I think is best shot will occur mainly with a person. So if the person moves while you're taking a photo, it'll have another photo that may be better

I'm fairly certain it's only an active feature. When you go to take a picture, it actually takes multiple pictures and you can choose right then which is the best. I know the HTC One had something similar to this, and there's a video showing how theirs works, so I'm assuming it's the same on the X2.
I'm going with the guess that they haven't rolled out that feature to their camera or gallery app yet.
