So, I bought apex launcher a long time ago, that being said its the only" pro" launcher I have, however, I was playing around with other launchers and apex seems to have lag, even as a system app, I'm wondering, does anyone have apex and has similar issues? I'm on the latest aospa, but it does it even on stock, should i just ditch it?

I've always used nova with no issues.

I love apex, I've never had a problem with it!

I second Nova launcher.

Holo Launcher Pro works good and has versions for ICS and up as well as GB and earlier. Biggest downside, like most launchers actually, is it doesn't dpi scale the best (icon text mainly), but it has plenty of size tweak options to make up for it and fix the scaling. Only Pro launcher I have.
Apex is the best I love putting it in tablet mode, and customization is better than nova I think

Yea tablet mode is great i just can't figure out why it lags, not even Nova 3d lags, maybe I'll try reinstalling it again

I've been using Apex about the time I got my AHD. No lag at all for me. Unless you are including it in a task killer, then that might be your issue. But for me its fast and I just love it. I deleted the stock launcher (since it stills runs in the background even if its not default) and same RAM. Most launchers take up a lot of RAM and you can see a difference.

I really like Go Launcher. Very customizable and I haven't noticed any considerable battery drain.

I am using launcherpro plus. It was work the few bucks. the added features are nice to have. scrolling widgets, etc. There's a video review of this launcher at www.mobiletechvideos.com.
ADWLauncher EX... less "pizzazz" = better battery life.

What's the absolute BEST launcher for this device? I mainly keep my view in landscape mode. Gives it that widescreen TV look.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
Have used loads, like sb 3d one but it's expensive and vtl is very good and discreet for landscape. Hehe but depends on my mood and what I have to do that day will fire up different one for work and play. Home screen switcher is handy if you want to bring your apps and widgets from launcher to launcher as well.

I don't think there's such thing as a best launcher. It all depends on personal prefference. I'm currenly using Go Launcher HD.
ADW EX is quite good.

Hard Q. I recommend APEX
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Launcher with less effect. I prefer Apex.
only Chuck Norris can judge me
I prefer Nemus Launcher, for me that's a fast and light launcher. Uses less battery than stock launcher.
Lightning Launcher is also good.
i use zeam launcher, it pretty much has no effects after all

ADWLauncher or AWDLauncherEx looks like stock in and out with a bunch of awesome features and you can make tabs in the app drawer
Yeah, I use adw ex, its really good, and has tabs, don't know if the free version does also, but is well worth the small price.

Nova Launcher Prime is all you need.

AW: Launcher help?
Nova can create folders in the app drawer but apex can create custom tabs. So I recommend you apex launcher.

Nova Prime does both tabs and folders. It's my go to launcher these days. I formerly used GOex, it's the best free option for folder function. Apex is also very good.

Go is too much of a RAM hog.

Totally. Go uses a ridiculous amount of system resources.
I like ADW because its not a system hog, has loads of neat effects, has the tabs in app drawer, let's you change the size of dock icons and app drawer icons. I see it as what the stock launcher should have been.

I've used both Nova and Apex, and stuck with Apex. Just personal preference as they both work well, and you can keep the stock look with a lot of great customizations in functionality.

I guess it is, but I used it for nearly two years without any issue and really loved all the supporting apps. That said, I haven't seen a bad recommendation here yet. I've used most launchers going back to the G1 and pretty much each of those mentioned thus far has been great to use. Comes down to personal preferences like most things Android.

I've just discovered Nemus Launcher and I guess it will replace Go on my devices!

Who prefers a 3rd party launcher over TouchWiz what features do you miss out on?
I'm thinking I want to do Nova but I like some of the upgrades on this new touch wiz.
I'm a traditional Nova man though.

What features are you specifically worried about losing? The only thing I have noticed that didn't work with Nova Launcher is the "OK Google" voice command from the home screen...but then again, you might use something I don't...
I'm using Nova and haven't noticed any TW features that are missing. Maybe that's just because I never used those said features, I don't know.
Ive used almost all the 3rd party launchers, including aviate beta. I enjoy Nova the best, and Apex second. Nova feels slightly more customizble than Apex and I am addicted to the gestures.
You shouldnt lose any of the TW features because its still the OS.. Nova is simply just a launcher. You can still access the primary phone settings with nova active.

Yup, exactly. All you do is change the default launcher in the "Default Applications" settings and everything is back to normal. :good:
