5% = 15 minutes
5% x 20 = 100% = 15 minutes x 20
100% = 300 minutes
300 minutes = 5 hours
5 hours screen time not long enough for you....?

Gud calculation buddy but i mistakenly wrote 5% per 15 min.....its actually 5% every 5 mintues....sorry fr writting wrong info.

I also do hav some network strenght problem .....it never shows the complete network bars..only one or two......whereas other fones in same network show full strenght. Is this coz i use att status bar icons on my fone or is it really a fone issue

I'm having an issue with my battery lasting barely 12 hours on just calls. I did the #*#*4636 etc.. and under "since last unplugged " it says 34 percent and when I click on it it says time spent without sleeping is 3 hours and 33 minutes. What other info do you guys need I will oblige. Thank you for the help much appreciated .. cm 6.1.0

Anyone please? My phone died yesterday while I was stuck in the snow and needed help. (NYC)
And I was stranded for 3 hours so any solutions would be helpful. Thank u and happy new year

I don't know what your problem is, probably something is draining your battery madly! I would suggest installing juiceplotter from the market, and then downloading super power v0.75 BETA. With juice plotter you can see what state your phone has been in (screen on, aon, wifi,...) and super power lets you very effectively control what your phone is doing. These are the two apps i use to substantially increase my battery life! Hope some of that makes sense and helps..

Thank you I will definitely try it out. Will it tell me what's using the battery?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
You can easily see what is using your battery. Go to 'settings', then 'about phone', then 'battery use'. What does is say there?
I have seen a lot of people complaining about battery life when using CM. Not sure if that is a coincidence or not... Maybe do a Nandroid and try the stock ROM for a while to rule out a ROM issue?
It will show you if your screen/apn/wifi was on our not. Also if you charged your phone. You will have to play with it for a while till you understand which color indicates what but after that you can analyze what your phone is found doing on one sight! Complemented with super powers functionality it gives you a couple od great role tools to adage some good battery!

Display 57 mins at %53
Voice calls 17 mins %26
Cell standby 6 hours %6
Phone idle at 5 hours 10 mins %5
Android systems 8 mins 19 seconds
I'm on 15 percent battery already
It's funny cuz it says 6 hours and 15 mins since last unplugged but its been 12 hours.
only a dozen texts and a few Facebook posts. And very light voice calls

Anddd 4 mins after my last post I'm on ten percent battery ;(

So it's lasted 12 hours, using the screen for an hour and 17 minutes worth of voice calls... I guess that doesn't really seem right to me, although maybe if the screen is 100% brightness... Maybe turn it down to 50% and screen time out to 30 seconds?
Have you always had this kinda battery life?
Can you try these things? :
type in *#*#4363#*#* in your dialer. Select battery information. Is battery health good?
type in *#*#4363#*#* in your dialer. Select battery history. first drop down select partial wake usage. Is anything look out of place (something much larger than the rest)?
Maybe download a program called traffic stats lite? This program will tell you which apps have been transmitting data and how much. Possibly a rogue app that is transmitting all the time?
Hi tech338. The battery health is good and I hardly ever have my screen on 100 percent bright. The battery was definitely better. On the partial wake lock the only thing with the highest bar is android system. The blue bar is half way up. And its at 1 hour and 17 mins
Thank you

It's a been a problem with almost all smartphones not just android. The only solution I've found and most reliable is to have a spare battery.
You can try my battery app linked in my sig. It pulls the info from inside your battery chip to re calibrate it.

How's your battery life on the incredible s ?

I'm not sure that if my phone has a low battery life or others as well . When I go to bed , my phone was at 70% and I wake up after 8 hours of sleep . My phone dropped to 58% . Is that a normal case or should I get a new battery pack ?

i'm using 1800 mugen power battery. it's better on about 20/30 % and you can really see that. so if you want to buy new battery - better buy this one than original. i'm working with it for half of a year n everything is fine.
about your battery - yes, it can go in that way and its normal for our dev.

Mine is about the same as yours, 100% at sleep and 88(at times it's 87 or 86) or so when I wake up. But I think I slept for about 10h
Edit*
Atm it's at 80% and it has been on battery for 13h exactly
im having issue with poor battery life on this device too up to 5hrs ~)
A tip is to disable sweep2wake if you have it enabled. it consumes a lot battery. Since I disabled it yesterday my battery gained a couple of hours battery life.
Using Longevity on CyanVivo X Rom and very impressed with the battery backup, Lasting over 18 Hours with average 3G data use and gaming before it was like 8-10 hours with Juice defender. Don't keep data on all the time otherwise use longevity Worth a try!

Imo it's just placebo effect. I actually think that they waste battery than save.
About battery saving apps:
Some might help save some of your battery, like Juice Defender, but about 100% of the stuff that an app does is something you can do for yourself.
Like dim the screen when you don't need 100% brightness, turn off data and use only GSM when you don't need to use data (and if 3G has better reception it might be worth staying on 3G though, at least in my world a better reception would mean a little bit better battery than if you changed to the network mode with worse reception) and when you don't need WiFi - you turn it off.
Using apps to kill other services and apps are not a good idea either, since some apps will only restart and restart and restart while the task killer will keep killing = both apps will drain your battery.
And by turning off both WiFi and data and the apps are well designed, they should not try to look for updates and such if there are no available internet connections.
And, by undervolting you gain more than using different apps and such and if you then learn how to set up your device in the best way for battery you will get longer battery life.
If I don't use my phone so often, I can get about 2 days with 3G/GSM + WiFi turned on all the time and mobile data connection turned on all the time. If I use it a lot I still get long enough battery time to make a full day, usually I need to charge my phone every 18-24 hours when I use it to check mail, send some texts and read news (and XDA, as the addicted person I am).
Now, I just hope that I haven't f*cked anything up - I'm just too lazy to read it through.

I bought myself a Nexus 7 about a month ago to satisfy the cravings for that Jellybean goodness. After trying several ICS/JB roms on my IncS over the past year, I decided to revert back to the CM7 Nightlies. Much to my surprise it's almost as if I forgot how blazingly fast Gingerbread was.
Given how i use my IncS on a daily basis, I seem to be averaging around 34-36 hours before it hits below 5%. It really only gets used for calls, texts and wifi tethering to my N7.

I used to average 30% battery drain per day with light use with stock GB rom and kernal, it has upped to approx 50% per day with stock ICS rom, with lOst profit's overclock kernal running at 1400 wake and 368 sleep. ( setcpu )
Not bad considering 40% increase in processor speed, but less than 20% increase in battery usage.
Addy
I tried latest cm7 nightlies and it wasn't smooth at all so I reverted back to jellybean cyan x
don't know why you are saying that GB was blazingly fast...

keep in mind you have to give it a couple of hours , maybe even a day(depending on how much it has to do and your connection etc) Before the rom settles down after flashing. Then you can give your impression of it if it is laggy or not.

[Q] Battery life

Hello everyone,
I wonder how much battery life you have on i9000 with stock battery (1500mHa) on cm 10.1 with semaphore kernel?
Asking, just because I can only get max. 12h of battery life with cm 10.1 20130218 rom and semaphore 2.9.10, smartassv2 and row. Wondering is this normal or my battery needs to be changed. Any suggestions to max battery life on i9000 would be appreciated too
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
The battery can last between 3hours and a week, depending on how you use your phone, so that's not a good question to ask.
If you feel that the battery is running out too quickly then download betterbatterystats and look for any apps using unusually high partial wakelocks or alarms and get rid of them. It only takes 1 rogue app to screw up your battery life.

I think he knows that.
12 hours uptime is not uncommon, especially when on 3g a lot. On wifi you should be able to get at least 20 h in my experience. If the battery is as old as your phone I suppose its capacity is not what it used to be, and you might consider replacing it with a sgs+ one f.i. - they come cheap nowaways!

That's in your experience, the way you use your phone.
Try playing NFS MW or something. You'll get about 2 hours on a gti9000. It varies far too much to try and tell people how many hours battery life they should be getting. Totally depends.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
I use my phone for 3h wifi browsing, 30 min. music and 30 min gaming, but nothing intense. And with this usage I get 12h battery life. Flashed 2.3.5 stock rom. Still getting 18h max. So I think this comes to conclusion that my battery is old enough. That's why I asked for the battery life you get, because I didnt knew this is usual or not
My last for 2 days more or less depending on usage.
AW: [Q] Battery life
Guys i think its wrong to measure the battery life with how long your phone is working. i personally look at the screen on time it says more than just how long our device is working. I get always stats around 3h its unimportant if my Phone works 6h or 18h.

[Q] battery gauge problem

hello
after flashing a few roms, my battery gauge is messed up.
the things i noticed, when my ace turns off deu to low power. the gauge shows 0%.
but when my ace shuts it self down and i plug in the wall charger. the battery gauge shows me a percentage around 75%.
the things i have done to solve this problem is deleting battery stats by cwm and a calibration app nothing did solve the problem.
also i have let the battery drain to zero and then charge it up to 100 and let it drain to zero again. also that didnt solve my problem.
so i flashed back the stock rom by odin. also not solving the problem.
is ther another way to solve the problem
Get a new battery.

The problem is not with your battery. It's with the battery notifier in the ace. It works well for a time and then goes absolutely crazy. Whenever your battery gets low, about 10% for example, connect the charger and charge blindly for 3 hours. Don't worry about the 100% notification. Try your battery now. It should be fine now. But if you're using battery extender kernel, there's a bug in it that brings down the battery for 50% in a short time after using.

i`am on stock gingerbread, the phone is about two years old. i also noticed that when i turn of my phone and pull the battery out for about three minutes en then put it back in the percentage is higher. so i do think that the battery gauge is messed p but when i use a calibration app to solve it, it gets worse or doesnt change. when i use code *#*#4636#*#* the status of my battery is good. im thinking to buy a new battery but i doubt that it would solve my problem.

And when I use it not charging, it drops down ...
I try to let it charge longer, but is that sure that the battery continue charging even if the notifier indicates 100% ?

Thanks for your answers, by default I will let it charge for 3h.

CM 9, 10.1,PAC consume battery like hell, but not that much also.
If there r such huge drops that too after charging the fone for 3 hrs then i guess there is a problem with the battery.

I dono about how it was when running stock rom because this phone does not belong to me. Any help is much appreciated.

Try a full discharge and then plug your phone until it is fully charged, finally without unplug it boot into CWM and wipe battery stats, finally reboot and charge it until 100%
