Is there any paranoid android ICS stable ROM? - LG Optimus 2x

I am fed up of these stock ICS based ROMs. They don't have enough free ram to multitask freely. Every now and then I have to kill some of them to stop it from hanging. So what I am basically asking is that, whether there is any CM based stable ICS ROM or a stable and fully working PA ROM available?

No CM based stable ICS ROM. For a stable and fully working PA ROM, check out tonyp's PA ROM (based on cm10, which is jelly bean).
As for the multitasking part, using a kernel with ram hack, like kowalski kernel may slightly improve multitasking, but due to the low amount of ram on the device (only 342MB is usable), multitasking freely as you suggest is not possible. When you open a second or third process, expect the first one to get killed to free up some memory.

Most common problem and its solution

Hey im using this phone for 1 month and im impressed by the performance. I downloaded few heavy games and apps like shadowgun and galaxy and few compilers and photo editing softwares. After installing them they were running smoothly. But after sometimes the app starts lagging. When i check the ram used i came to know that even i close the apps the app process is still taking some resources from ram i know its necessary for multitasking but the apps which you dont want to use further should be able to remove from memory. I tried with advanced task killler but after sometime that apps come back in the ram please tell a solution for and i think many users must have ezperiencing this. It is using up the memory unnecessarily.

use cm7.2 kang and use antoher kernel like vadonka, iron kernel.
vadonka provides 32mb ram hack and non 32 mb ram hack.
ironkernel provides 32mb, 64mb, and 96mb hack and non ram hack.
or you can install miui which is faster enough too.
or stock rom but already tweaked with another kernel such as horse power kernel which is nice and so on
just look the development section. LG rom is suck!!
If you have ram issues then you could also try to freezer these apps with titanium backup for example. Also, you could flash a custom kernel with ram hack of course...

Naaaahh... Just kidding!
CM7.2 Temasek KANG P204-30
Ironkernel (Vadonkas KANG)
Have your rooted and installed a custom ROM? Or are you still on the stock LG ROM?

Hello!
The behaviour you describe in you starting post is quit "normal" for the LG stock rom - it is a known bug - stock rom has memory leaks and you need to reboot the phone from time to time get all ram back.
The camera app from CM7 is ok in the latest KANGS.
CM7 has a better ram management and using a cutom kernel can speed up things even more (considerably).
But you could also install a custom rom based on a stock rom rebuild like i.e. Guestes or Manouches roms - they should work better than standard stock and are based on newer(leaked) sources...
ICS will come, but CM9 needs still some time and the ICS build from LG won't be here before next winter...
Err... im confused my friend. Cynomod is a custom rom rite? and what is a kernel ? can you change kernel in your stock rom? please tell.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
Yes cyanogen is a custom rom.
The kernel is a script that allows software to access the hardware. It's easy to change and there are many threads in dev forum about custom kernels. However I think you have to read some guides before

CM9 vs Slim ICS vs ICS333: stability

Coming from CM7 - getting random freezes and reboots.
Would like the most stable rom and I am reading that CM9 stable release, slim ics, and ics333 are the ones most often mentioned.
Which is the most stable?
I could care less about the bells and whistles - just need a very stable rom.
ICS333 , its simple,fast, and mostly stable.
To avoid FC in yr apps, look at FA&Q you will find an instruction about getting so many FC , install the file ,flash the Rom and gapps ,enjoy

Mostly stable?
Also, what is the latest and best data fix?
Cant say nothin bout ics333 but been running Slim Ics for like 2 months without any problems!
Go for slim its stable with no FC,s lag or random reboots

ICS333 and CM9 are very similar, I have been using CM9 for about half-year, ics333 only about one week, SlimICS for about a month, SlimICS was for me the best, cause its actually slim, fast, very stable...., all of these roms ive been using with semaphore. I would recommend u to give a try to all of them, then choose
I used CM9 Stable and now I'm on SlimICS 4.2. Both of these ROMs are stable and smooth. But in my opinion Slim is smoother than CM9.
since I'm coming from cm7, I think I'll try cm9 first.
Any recommended data fix scripts?

[Q] most stable 4.2.1 Rom

hi Senior members
pls help me to choose the most stable and graphical 4.2.1 rom that has Lots of features for daily usage
i dont have time to test all of them
plz help tnks

Everybody has his/her own preferences. Only through self-testing can one be truly satisfied if it's the right Rom for him/her.
Users of every Rom can say that what they are using is the best.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 blackbean-7
Kernel: Mackay 0.234
Try mackay rom or slim rom.
Also as said above everyone had its own taste you might need to flash couple of roms to see which one is good for you.

Like the posts above say each to there own IMO hellybean (both derteufel's and franzyroys) are really stable but also consider c-rom too personally i would look at the op's and screens of the ROMs that interest you most and ask some members from the threads there thoughts and then make your choice

I would say SLIMROM is the best!!!
does slimbean come with its own kernel or does kernal need to be flashed seperatley
Idk CM10 is perfectly stable for me...
I'm both overclocking and using stuff like RAM Manager though and the alternatives might not require that (CM10.1 sure does for me), but I'm very happy with my phone atm

Slim comes with the latest Semaphore kernel
I bet you want to try C-rom mix v5 Silk smooth.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
im usig cm10 stable build, although its 4.1.2 im betting the cm10.1 stable of 4.2.1 will be the best once its out.
personnally i like helly bean and mackay rom, they are both fast and not very laggy
I use JB AOSP from pawitp from 20121209 - the only thing which annoys me is incoming calls - when phone rings picture of contact is partially hidden. It lacks some options from CM10 but works like a charm.
CM10.1
I use the latest Nightly from CM10.1 and have'nt come across any problems...
AW: [Q] most stable 4.2.1 Rom
I use the newest HellyBean and got 4900 points on antutu with 114% live OC
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Fishears 4.2.1 ROM is pretty slick too. It uses the old partition layout so it can make proper use of the faster iNand.
thanks for everyone
i use [4.2.1] Vanilla Rootbox and it seems the most stable for now....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122727
..you can also try " C-RoM Mix 4.2.1 v6!!! "
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925195
I can never stay on the same ROM for too long. However, Slim and Hellybean were quite fast.
My favourite 4.2.1 rom is CyanAOSP.
It comes with the semaphore kernel and a sgs3 design.

[Q] Which kernel go with CM10.1 will develop its best performance?

Dear all
can you show us what is your collocation of your i9000 such as rom+kernel+launcher ,and you have used
it for a long time proved its stability and performance..thank you very much
You will find your needs in gamerzrom, its v.stable and the fastest ROM for i9000
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
For kernel i always used semaphore. For launchers i use trebuchet or zeam, i like their simplicity.
Roms are always changing, now one is stable, tomorow maby not, but generaly cm is the most stable in my opinion.

Recommend me a rom

Hello, i'm currently in need of speed for my old "warhorse" S
So let's begin. The reasons why i'm needing new rom and stuff are those that my phone is lagging all the time no matter which rom i'm using and so on.
For now, im looking for baserom that is possible to flash with odin, good kernel, and rom that has speed and stability. And yeah, it won't matter if the rom is Gingerbread or ICS or JB, i prefer JB but now im looking for speed so i guess JB won't be fastest.
At the moment im running with RemICS JB v6 with Mackay kernel.
Happy weekend for everybody!
Maybe CM10.1
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
I would recommend slimbean 4.2.2 build 8 with devil kernel for 4.2 builds (not the latest for 4.3).
And with a lil bit of customization and greenify, it's awesome!!!
I recommend SauROM, my previous JB rom f**ed up so I had to Odin my phone.
I must say that it is faster than any JB rom and has a good camera, fast launcher and is stable.

if you want to play games use gamerzrom ninja v11 (GB) or try using the gamerzrom legend edition v4 but GB version is best for anything

Be warned that installing any 4.1+ ROM will make your phone unable to multitask as there is not sufficient ram. However, you do get enhanced speed and responsiveness, plus more customization options.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
CM10.1.3 and devil kernel
Use gamerzrom Legend edition or Mackey Rom 4.2.2 for smoothness and stablity. If you want feature rich ROM then use Roms by Aways or try DU ROM
