everytime i select power off, it powers off and then restarts!!!!!!!!! anyway to power it off??
edit: looks like this happens only when the phone is connected with charger. i disconnected the pph from charger and then it shut down itself easily. But then when i reconnected the cable, it just restarted withoout me even pushing the power button. IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE NORMAL?? i'm on .284 firmwire
theres a button on back its orange in color try holding it for few seconds than it will force shutdown..see if the prob solved..

Hello,
i've done the JB original ota update.
one day, when i was calling my friend, the display become black and never turned on. if i press the power on button, it vibrate.. but i don't see anything..
i tried to repair software with pc companion but... nothing.
anynone with the same problem?
Press the power button and volume up button for 20-30 seconds untill it has vibrated 3 times.
Turn it on.
If it does not turn on, plug it into the wall charger and leave it over night.
In the morning try to turn it on, if it doesnt then it is fubard.
Also, when you say "One day it just didnt turn...." what had you flashed to it? Have you rooted it? Have you unlocked the bootloader? Which ROM are you on?... All usefull info for people trying to help
it's all original. no root no rom. nothing.

Did you try to turn it on after it vibrated?
If the LED is green whilst connected to the wall charger, try to turn it on again.
Try the power and volume again.
If you ring the phone from another phone does it respond or is it unavailable
1 put wall charger
2 presset power + vol up
3 vibrate one time.. then 3 times.. led RED. if i dont press anything became green. if i press power on remain green.
don't boot anyway..

The phone boot... the touch work... but the screen is black..
Sounds like a hardware issue. Did you drop or damage the phone just before that happened...
No drop.. no water.. just like i said... after finished a phone call, the display was black and never turned on..
Take it back to the shop. If you have not modified it and it "Just Happened" they will have to replace it.
Hi everyone!
4 days ago i washed my phone for about 10 seconds, phone worked normally. After 1 hour i saw water went into both front and back camera. I got out all flaps and after some hours cameras were functional again. After even more hours buttons started to act weird. Sometimes power button wasn't working, sometimes volume up was acting like power button and so on. I tried to restart the phone, sometimes it went into safe mode(probably volume button was pressed by itself). Finally I couldn't start the phone at all(perhaps the power button stopped working at all).
After that i calmed down and put my phone into rice(hoping that would absorb water if any). After 24 hours i had no luck. When i had connected my phone to computer, the led was red, phone vibrated 3 times and then again and again.
Next step was to open the phone( removing the back with a hairdryer), took out the battery and trying to dry the phone with hairdryer. Still no succes. When connecting to PC and start flashtool, my phone wasn't recognised. I installed Sony Update Service (SUS) and then when i connected my phone i heard that sound you often hear when connecting a new device to an USB port. Now my phone is seen by flashtool, but it's always in fastbootmode. I even flashed CWM and it worked.
The problem is that it seems volume up is pressed always so i can't enter in flashmode to flash 4.4.2, it always goes into fastboot.
When on battery the phone is dead at all. Still when i try to charge the phone, it starts, displays Sony logo then shows that it's charging (at first that battery was empty but after 2 hours it got full charged). If i press power button it shutdown.
To resume, when on battery nothing happens( the battery could be dead). When plugged to wall charger the phone starts charging( so battery could work). Power button does nothing at all when on battery, but works when phone is charging or when connected to PC in fastboot.
If anyone had any idea what I could do I would be very appreciative. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.Thank you very much for your support!

Even if i down't press anything, just connect the phone to usb, led is blue, that means it's in fastboot mode...so i think volume up is stuck, pressed.

or the volume pcb might have shorted
Please remember this for the rest of your life:
When you notice that water has went into your device.... TURN IT THE F OFF AND LET TIT DRY...
Using it while it's wet from the inside is really bad.
Update Guys
Today I've replaced that yellow connector that contains power, vol up and vol down buttons. I managed to enter flashmode and flashed the newest official rom .233. Power button and vol up work like charm, vol down is dead.
The problem is that my phone is stuck on safe mode(probably because vol down is stuck). I want to know if there's any solution to get rid of this safe mode. I read somewhere that changes can be made to the kernel so that vol down will be disabled for ever. If you know any ROM, any mod, whatever that disables the vol down button i'll appreciate your help.
Hi all,
plugged my phone in overnight to charge as usual. Woke up this morning and it was off. I presumed it hadn't charged properly so plugged it into multiple other chargers/battery packs etc. and nothing is happening.
I have it plugged in right now and it's just all black and the charging light isn't even on.
If I press the power button, the charging light comes on, stays on for a few seconds then goes off.
If I press and hold the power button then nothing. If I press and hold the power+UP nothing happens, if I press and hold the power+DOWN nothing happens at all.
My 'guess' is that the battery is so knackered (3yr old phone) that it's depletion overnight just emptied the battery so much that it just wont recover now and take any charge.
Looking for any and all suggestions of things I can try.
Hold power, volup, and voldown simultaneously.
Try connect it to computer, boot in flash mode and flash FW via FlashTool. Possible is that the FW got messed up... everything is possible.
Managed to get it going finally. Wouldn't charge, didn't anything. Plugged it into PC, loaded flashtool and it recognised it. Nothing happened though so was talking to tech support and magically after like half an hour talking to them it suddenly booted with 1% battery life.
It'd now charged and running ok

Glad to hear that
Seems like my 3T does not turn off when I turn it off via pressing the power button. When I have a charger connected it's easy to spot when the vibration goes off, but the charging light keeps lit - even when I remover the charger. It's also apparent that the device won't turn on when pressing the power button for three seconds. I need to press it about eight secs and then another two to turn it on.
Turning off works when rebooting the phone and turning it off from the bootloader (my device is unlocked) or when turning it off at the pin entry (have boot pin set).
Can anyone confirm?
Tested with clean system (no root, no Xposed) and still happening...
Turning off with the power button works on my device, powering up DOES take some time, 5-8 seconds of holding the power button down.
Seems like forever holding that power button!
Maybe I need to be more precise. Yes, I can "kill" the phone just holding that button for about ten seconds. But that's not the point. I suspect it does not power off properly.
To test, hook it up to the charger. Press power for about three seconds. Select "Turn off". Wait for the phone to vibrate. Charging light is on. If it'd be powering off correctly, it would kind of turn on again to show you the charging screen (battery symbol, then dash symbol). Does not do this for me. Instead it sits there... black. When I remove the charger, the charging light stays on.
To turn the phone on again, I then have to press power about ten seconds (turning it off), and then again to turn it on.
I tried your exact method, and my device shuts down (connected to the power cord, plugged in) normally, and them restarts while holding down the power button in 3 seconds.
When not connected to the dash charger, my device does power down very slowly as described in my earlier post (stock kernel)
My devices is rooted with the blue spark kernel though--so maybe that has some baring in my "normal" shut down/startup behavior.
I have the same bug to you... So I disconnected the cable...
Just wait for the future updates....
Poco M3 Pro 5g
Stock rom
Locked bootloader
It was powered off for some time because I had to replace broken display
Now when I try to boot a battery icon appears and then it turns off. Same thing happen when I plug in the charger
I repair smartphones professionally so I am sure no hardware damage during the repair

I went through it. try holding the power button, connect the cable and only release after the battery shows 1%. you can try holding the power and volume + or power and volume - buttons too instead of Power button only, in the same way. alternatively, you can leave it on the charger for hours and it might turn on. Make sure you are using the supplied xiaomi charger
If I plug the cable or I plug and hold the power button the phone just tries to boot continuously showing the battery icon and then turning off and repeat, nothing really happens
Is that what is supposed to happen?

Yes, It happens. Luckily the phone will reach 1% and charge normally, keep trying
You actually saved me, it worked in the end, after some loops it booted alone, all I had to do was just let it sit there, didn't even have to keep power button all the time, once it started the loop I just left it there and when I came back it was booted.
