That's the guide I used to port Helly Bean.
The guide is simple, and just porting doesn't take a lot of time. The only thing that takes lots of time could be tweaking or modding apps or something like that...
You could port the Galaxy S2 version
I could try to port it, but it would be great if you could do it yourself wouldn't it?

I also want to get CM9 to our device.. I really want to help here, but I don't have a lo of knowledge of rom development.
But I developed some Android apps and I know how to programm java..
So can anybody tell me what I would have to do If I want to get CM9 to our Incredible S?
Can I compile CM9 from source? Or isn't that possible because we don't have an official cm9 yet?
Please help me out a little bit..
Or do you have any tutorials that would help me getting started?
CM9 Is out
Cm9 is now out and soon I think the jelly bean port will be possible maybe.
Desire S have a port lying around but i heard one of the guys had a brick so if you are doing anything please be careful ..

seriously???
its not out, and won't be until kernel source is. Xda incorrectly listed about 10 devices as having it, o told them on the article and via twitter but 4 days later they haven't bothered to fix it

dang !
why the hell do they wait for kernel source, old devices that have no ics source whatsoever have official cm9 nightlies (example GT-P1000)
Presumably they don't need it, either their drivers are open source or are the same as another device which does have source. HTC deliberately remove and obfusticate, so each source is specific to one device

Hello Team,
Can any one please tell me if there would be a Jelly bean port for Galaxy S Plus (GT-I9001) Mobile ?
I found one Port try from Mr. vpupkin, but the last update from him was , as the jelly bean source was full of bugs he will wait till proper bug free source is avaiable. But this update he posted on Mid of June 12, I think after that no one tried to port the JB itseems .
Any Update please ?

@Latrop: That would be great if you can. I heard since Jelly bean got almost he same internal structure like ICS, and we have a 98% WOrking CM9 available I hope it wont be too tough to do that. Still I cant comment more on it as I am not a developer (But I could say I am good tester) and only a dev can comment the actual difficulty about this port. All the best and I am waiting .
Cheers,
Kirankumar.

this is the great people you should be talking to about JB port to our device :highfive:
Hello ,
Just wanted to give you a suggestion. You might have heard of the broodROM (Maintained by broodPlank) , that the only ROM which I found as non Laggy, rest all custom ROMs, some and other reason faces a lot of lagging issues. So if we can get the technique used by Mr.Brood, we could get a lagless CM10 Port. I know that Jelly bean has something called project butter which promises to keep the lag away, but if that does the solution while porting then fine, else we can get some tips from Broodplank.
Cheers,
Kirankumar.[/QUOTE]

Hi there! I would like to ask these:
1. Is it necessary to do a factory reset every time you flash a rom? What is this feature useful for?
2. Which do you think it's the best Jelly bean rom for the galaxy note? (im currently using CM10 Nightlies.)
Thank you very much

If you are updating your rom like changing from nightly to nightly on cm10 most likely you won't need to factory reset.. Factory reset its not a feature its a procedure... And you can only perform this procedure from a safe kernel (cm9/10 kernels /Hydracore /speedmod) because of the emmc brick bug...
In order to be able to change roms or to fix some issue like wake locks or hang ups sometimes you gotta factory reset..
FOR ME best JB are samsung TW UX based roms.. Xls7 with multi windows its a beast.. AOSP Roms are way behind samsung
Tapatalking on my n7000
I like the PA: Utacka ROM
1. Depending on the rom and the OP.
2. pa by utacka is the rom for me.
Hi my name is Luxor and i am a flashoholic but thanks to paranoid android i've been clean for weeks.
Thanks for the info! Could you please share the link for the rom you are using? Is that jelly bean as well?
Is it a good idea to flash that through mobile Odin pro? I did not see a factory reset option just the cache cleaning ones in Odin.
Secondly, does it matter which gapps file I use when flashing? There are several ones of different dates.
I'm new to all this do my questions I'm sure are silly, but quite enjoying the rooted phone.
Thank you a lot!

roms are available in the development section of this forum, the opening post describes if they are jelly bean or ics based
you cant flash custom roms through mobile odin
you have to use gapps for JB with a JB based rom and gapps for ics with an ics based rom, its best to use the most recent releases, then you can choose between multidpi and inverted varieties..... your choice
On sweetrom for a day, everything seem good. Can consider flashing!

I am on TMT 5 JB rom and I am happy with this rom. The rom is smooth with good battery life and I like the muti window feature. I was on paranoid rom which I also like for a while. With the multi-window feature I do not think I will go back to paranoid rom unless it has the same feature.
I have decided for TMT 5 as well, downloaded it and has some great features, the icons seem rather blocky but I can make my peace with that given the extras. Could anyone share the link where the updates of that rom are? Have found this initial version but not where the changelogs are. Thanks a lot!

Hello everybody,
I actually see that a lot of rom are ready for s5830, even cm10 is going to be complete.
So I was guessing, is it possible to port rom from s5830 to s5830i?
Have they yhe same processor, as asked in "how to port rom" guide?
The fact that hardware is pretty the same with some aspect should help us no?
Thank you guys
The hardware isn't the same. The hardware with s5830i and s5360 is the same.
I don't think porting is possible. If it would we would already have ported cm9
