[Q] URGENT Help !! -- Phone not booting after S-ON - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I tired to go S-ON after upgrading to ARHD 11.5 and flashing the 4.2.2 firmware. I initially put in the command :
./revone -s 0 -l
to lock the phone.
Then i though i should go S-On and not just lock. So i entered the command :
* ./revone -l
* fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
Now my phone doesnt boot into system or into recovery, it falls back to bootloader everytime and will display :
*** TAMPERED ***
*** LOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***
Please help me recover my phone , i do not want to wipe sdcard.
I didnt do Super CID

I`am sorry for you but this is not easily fixed imo, only HTC can repair your phone and that off course isn`t covered by warranty. You`re stuck and there is nothing you can do imo. Maybe someone else has a solution , or you might look around for a JTag service and ask if they can fix it.
ALWAYS lock the bootloader and go S-On AFTER you flashed a RUU.
BTW this: ./revone -s 0 -l is for S-Off and UNlocking the bootloader.

Hi mate, failing to see what he did wrong here though? Can you just explain

With revone you can unlock the bootloader without losing any data, but since you aren't able to boot into the system I don't think that's a viable option.
The only solution I can think of at the moment is searching for the proper RUU for your device and installing it. That will wipe your data, however.
By the way, since you can access bootloader, your device is NOT bricked. The misuse of that word pisses me off. Sorry for the rant. And ugh, may I ask why you wanted to go S-ON? lol

What is the CID number and where do you live? If you can get the identical RUU with the same bootloader version you`re saved but there aren`t many RUU`s available. Here are all RUU`s http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207874 If yours isn`t listed here you`re screwed buddy.

- OP didn`t make backup the original rom that came with the phone.
- Then he unlocked the bootloader and got S-Off
- He neglected to write supercid or one like HTC__001
- THen he locked the bootloader and got S-Off
- And now recovery, also a custom recovery is not functional
- The RUU he needs to flash is most probably not availabe.
So, this is an impasse till he finds the right RUU.

Maybe, but you can`t flash anything that is custom software like a rom or something because of the locked bootloader and S-On. Only the identical RUU can help you out of this.
Wiping will not help, the custom rom that is loaded cannot load and you don`t have the RUU you need to flash. CWM is not accessible.

Get S-Off as fast as you can and write a superCID (11111111), look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536 for how to.

I know superCID , but just didnt think there was any need for it , i upgraded my firmware twice by adding my cid to the list. well this was a nice lesson.
Can you point me to a link that would show me how to extract RUU from my phone , would be good knowledge for future.
Also any ideas where are the wallpapers stored , somehow , my wallpaper is still present which is a pic i captured 2 days back , atleast will have 1 memory from that trip

for anyone else who is wondering where the current wallpaper is stored
/data/system/users/0/wallpaper
the filename "wallpaper" is actually a PNG file without file extension. just copy it and add .png to the file name.

Stay S-Off.. Stay Unlocked on Bootloader.. Nuff said. One should not tamper with this unless you REALLY Need to.. Which is.. never. A bootloader can never be *Locked* again after unlocking it.

Vivid will not reboot after flash or Juopunut S-off

I was trying to obtain S-off through Juopunut Bear, but after it finds my device and tries to reboot it into its program, it simply doesn't reboot. The phone then will not start at all unless I pull the battery and boot into Hboot. From there I flashed my backup img through fastboot and I was good. I found this thread that said I need to ICS 3.32 firmware. On my phone I noticed I am on Software number 3.26.502.56, so I tried to flash the provided download of 3.32 using fastboot. And it did the same exact thing! Would not reboot, and had to battery-pull and re-flash my backup to get it to work.
What is my problem here?
I am on a unlocked and rooted HTC Vivid running stock ICS and stock Kernel.
I really hope I am not committing a stupid error and wasting everyone's time, but it is possible. Thanks in advance for any help!

If you can get hboot relock the bootloader and run the stock ruu file seems to work for ant errors I've ever gotten , then just go back and redo every thing but s off it should stay off .

Yes if you are having problems after any mod to the os just relock the bootloader and run the stock ruu file and it will fix the issue , then go back after you got the phone working right and then unlock the bootloader , flash recovery , root , ect .
But the s-off should stay off and you won't have to redo that step .
So basically you will be on a stock ics with s-off
Then just redo the process to get it where you want it .

did you succeed s-off ?
if you did the s-off procedure via " wire trick " was successful the relocking the boot loader will not change the s-off it will stay off ,
Then relock. Run ruu now you are stock ics with the s-off still , and all the errors should be fixed .
Then just re unlock bl , flash recovery , root , flash New custom Rom / kernel, ect.
All I'm saying is if you have s-off then your good ,
To fix all the errors run the ruu , only reason you need to relock bl is the ruu will reject the install if you are unlocked .

I had trouble on my first S-OFF attempt. I had made a mistake (I missed one of the S-OFF prep steps in section 2 of the SuperGuide, which is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836 ).
If you want to try again?
-If you have relocked your bootloader, flash your phone stock using your appropriate RUU while phone is in Fastboot mode.
*** If you haven't relocked bootloader yet, you can do it first via fastboot ("fastboot oem lock")
-Start at section 1 of the superguide (unlocking the bootloader, yeah it sucks to do the process again but thankfully htc makes it easy!)
-And then you can try S-OFF process again (section 2 in superguide)

You don't need to relock, if you're s-off you can run whatever RUU you like.

Where was the phone purchased and what was the carrier? It's possible your CID was changed.
Assuming htc__001 is correct, the RUU collection is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860
There are no RUUs for 4.2, so this would mean downgrading. But you should then start getting OTAs.
Note that running a RUU will fully wipe the phone. So back up anything on it you want to keep.

You have superCID, which means any RUU will run. You have the generic European model. CIDGetter is pulling the original cid from some system file, but it doesn't reflect the actual cid.

That is a bit trickier and riskier since you don't know what was done to your phone before you bought it. I don't recommend going back to s-on because of this. However, running the correct RUU should put you back to safe stock.
Once the RUU has run and you've confirmed that the phone boots and is back to a stable stock configuration, you need to reboot and run a series of commands in fastboot:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
This will restore your stock CID. Note that there are two underscores there.
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Confirm on your bootloader screen that the CID is correct.
fastboot oem lock
This will relock your bootloader. Reboot again and confirm that it says "LOCKED" on your bootloader (Not "RELOCKED"). Boot up your phone and confirm that everything seems to be running correctly. You may want to give this a few days. Then reboot to bootloader when you're comfortable with it.
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
This will put you back to s-on. When you reboot from here, your bootloader should say LOCKED and S-ON as if it was out of the box.

I too need to put my T-mobile HTC One back to stock somehow, but don't even know where to start, I saw this thread so I didn't want to clutter up the subforum, and thought that maybe I should ask here. You need to s-off first or it will say "RELOCKED" on the bootloader. Problem is you may or may not be able to s-off right now. There is a new T-Mo exploit that supposedly works but I know nothing about it.
Once you do that, you can run an older RUU, which will remove the TAMPERED from the bootloader, then relock and s-on as described above.

Crap. Well I know they're not going to check the bootloader lol, just that when you turn on the phone, you'll see the red text at the bottom saying "Developmental purposes" and I can't remember the rest of the message. [Q] Help! Problems to unroot M7_UL!

Hello everyone,
This is my fisrt time writing in this forum, hope you guys can share some knowledge with me. Here is my issue:
I bought a HTC One to a guy a few weeks ago with barely no use. The thing is that I didn´t know at that time that the device was rooted with the MaximusHD. When I realized about it I reset my phone to factory settings and the new 4.3 3.22.1540.1 got installed. Thought it was ok but it is still doing some weird things so I decided to unroot the device to stock, also for warranty porpuses.
The problem comes when I try to download the RUU for my device due to I cannot find it. Should I do it through other method? Do I have to S-off to downgrade and install the RUU 1.29?
My phone is the following:
M7_UL PVT Ship S-On RH
Baseband 4A.17.3250.14
Hboot 1.54.0000
OpenDSP v31.120.274.0617
It is the european unlocked/international version bought in Spain.
I would really appreciate if someone could give a hand on this and guide me in through this process. I was an iPhone guy and now I'm freaking lost.
Thanks so much!

Your bootloader should already be unlocked, so simply get S-OFF using Rumrunner, then follow this guide.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to s-off my htc but it hasnt worked. So I downloaded the recovery stock version and after installing it, the device told me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i wanted to install supersu, i declined and then made a recovery. Phone looks like unrooted, although within the bootloader it still shows "tampered" and "Unlocked". The recovery mode that the phone had installed has disappeared so I dont know what to do now, should I continue to s-off the device and then put it down to hboot 1.44 and follow the unroot guide???
I would like to make sure my device is unrooted in order to gain warranty privilages just in case i need to send out my phone to htc...
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to s-off my htc but it hasnt worked. So I downloaded the recovery stock version and after installing it, the device told me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i wanted to install supersu, i declined and then made a recovery. You don't really have a choice, unless you have the RUU for your phone. Can you post the results of "fastboot getvar all" so we can try to figure out what to do.

Just a quick note here, "version-main: <blank>" I never like that.
BTW, when posting "fastboot getvar all" it's preferably to remove IMEI and s/n; we don't need to see that.
You should probably get s-off as @attanasi0 suggested and then run a "HTC__304" downgrade RUU. (You can only downgrade if you're S-Off)
Just my two cents

When you boot to bootloader does it also show nothing in OS (7th line down or so)? Can you remember the last OTA you took?

Right, it shows just OS- but nothing else...when i bought it the guy had installed the MaximusHD 13 and I updated through OTA to the MaximusHD 20 but wasnt going smooth so I reset it to factory settings and It installed the JB 4.3 (3.22.1540.1).
Today after trying to s-off without success, I downloaded the recovery stock version for the rom I had and flashed it and the recovery mode that I had before disappeared and the baseband upgraded to 4A.20...instead of the 4A.17 that I had before that. Did the guy who sold me the htc messed it up? is there anything I can do to set my device to factory settings?
Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it!

Well from the information available, you have
- hboot 1.54
- m7_ul
- PN0710000
- CID HTC__304
this would lead me to assume you have a 2.24.401.x based phone.
I would try to get one of the following Guru Reset ROM:
2.24.401.8 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
2.24.401.1 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/
flash one of them in recovery, then follow the rumrunner steps to try to achieve S-Off.
If that is successful, then you can downgrade back to stock, using this RUU (exe): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
check your "fastboot getvar all" after that.
Once you've done all that you can use revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792) to remove "TAMPERED"
and also revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914) to get you're phone "LOCKED" if you so wish
Keep S-Off !!
PS: hit the thanks button if someone has helped you

Thanks for the help. I have downloaded the Rom you gave me the link for but I dunno how to flash it due to I lost access to the teamwin recovery mode and when I click recovery onto the bootloader it goes to a black screen with a caution simbol in red and I have to reboot it.
I have tried with the goomanager to flash that rom but it doesnt let me. Any advice in this regard? I can tell goomanager to find an open recovery script (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7.img), should i do this? Or Im gonna end up with a bricked phone?
Thanks!

"black screen with a caution simbol in red" that's stock recovery, you need to flash back a custom recovery. download (if you dont have one) from the xda threads, then enter bootloader (shut off phone, hold POWER + VOLDOWN) enter FASTBOOT, connect to PC and it should change to FASTBOOT USB
then
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY
then "install ZIP" in Aroma, deselect "stock recovery" so you don't need to flash it again.

No problem, TWRP you mentioned should work just fine. It's the same as installing a custom ROM. I havent used TWRP but it should say something like "install zip", then find the zip and flash away.
Hopefully, that will give you a chance to successfully run rumrunner; remember to read and follow the instructions to the letter!
Good luck and keep us posted (fingers crossed)

Well I installed the custom recovery, then flashed the stock rom 2.24.401.8 as you told me. Once I did that I ran rumrunner successfully gainning S-off.
Now I have to run the RUU but the one you suggested me is the "RUU M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 10.31.1131.05 Release 310878" but my radio is 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L. Should I try to install it anyways? I've taken a look at the rest of RUUs and none fits my features...
btw every time I flash the stock version at the end it tells me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i want to install supersu, i always say no and after that my recovery always goes to stock, i guess it is normal, isnt it?

Go ahead and flash it, it will downgrade everything (now possible thanks to S-Off), and you will then receive the latest OTA package(s) to get to the most current version including radio.

Hey! I have tried to lock it but after typing adb shell I get this "[email protected]:\ $" instead of the # that you are getting. I've tried to type "su" after that but it says that the command cannot be found. Also, when I type the code "echo -ne..." it says that I have permission denied so dunno what to do now...
Im asking in the lock/unlock threat but they just told me that its because im not rooted and that i have to install a recovery and install superuser in order to be able to introduce the code, dont really understand why I have to root it afer unrooted it :S

[SOLVED][Q] Hboot 1.54, S-ON - Debrand, receive ota, without htc-dev unlock

Hello,
probably silly question and you will order me to study xda.
Unfortunately, i have came through almost every single topic, and can't get to "move" from my situation.
I received Htc One with Hboot v 1.54.000, locked bootloader - S-ON.
Software number 2.24.111.5 (android 4.2.2 with Sense 5). My cid (read through CidGetter from playstore) - T-MOB101.
I am trying to avoid unlocking bootloader via htc-dev, as afaik it voids the warranty.
I am not interested in custom roms. Rather, i would like to "fool" the phone and make it like it was European distribution, with no branding, so i would receive OTA as anyone else with unbranded phone.
If i understood correctly, to achieve this, basically i need to change my CID to european or supercid, which will enable to install any ruu from htc. But european otas would be enough for me. To change cid, i need S-OFF, right ?
There are basically three methods, if i read correctly, right ?
1, Revone - doesn't work with Hboot 1.54
2, Moonshine - Works without htc-dev unlocking, but installs custom bootloader, which will disable otas to install.
3, Rumrunner - Works with 1.54 bootloader, but i need to htc dev unlock ?
So, am i understanding correctly, that as long as i dont want to htc dev unlock, i am stuck to my cid, and dependent from german t-mobile ? So i can only hope, some dev will find exploit in Hboot 1.54 ?
Isn't there any miracle, that could help to solve my problem ?
Thanks
Rumrunners is the only solution with an htc dev unlock...
If you will remove the cid and put an european is the best thing to do.
You can always put the locked string
Yes,
but Htc will know, that i requested unlock keys.
Won't be that problem ?
Also, does htc-dev unlock automatically mean warranty void ?

Yeah, i know that htc will know, but i never had a problem.
When i had the Evo 3D i unlocked with htcdev and after s-offed, so i relocked and s-on for warranty e no prob
MY friends with this phone didn't had any problem with warranty also with an unlocked with htcdev...
Remusator - I'm looking for the same thing: I have UK orange firmware, and was hoping to get stock/unbranded CID so I can get regular OTAs. Please let me know if you figure it out
Desperately waiting and hoping for some dev to soff without dev.
Today an arcticle came through my hands, saying "Unlocked htc one - kitkat till end of the month". Still don't have even Jelly :/
Is someone working on this ? Please

OK, European unbranded:
1- get s-off: http://rumrunner.us/ (follow instructions !)
2- change CID to European unbranded such as HTC__001
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001 <- two underscores
3- I assume your model number (MID) is already PN0710000
4- remove TAMPERED, and set your phone back to LOCKED, you can use this tool from within CWM recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527194
5- Run the following RUU: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
after the above, your phone will not be fooled into thinking it's European unbranded, it will be European unbranded, and you'll receive the OTAs.
Let me know if you need more explanations, and hit the thanks button if I've helped
Hello, thanks.
However, i am completely stock. So i don't have CWM recovery yet.
In which step will i get it ? Or am i missing something ?
Also, CID change - is it really so easy ? I have seen some guides where people needed to download, edit and then flash some hex files.

OK, so before point 1 above:
a) use HTCdev to unlock
b) download CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863 and flash it in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7ul.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> enter recovery
c) for rumrunner to work, you need a close to stock rom with root access, so get one from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/, probably this one should work: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-111-3-zip/
you need to push that to your phone:
adb push <name of rom>.zip /data/media/ <- this will take 5 to 10 minutes without any progress bar, then report success
d) in CWM recovery, now select "install zip" -> "choose zip" and flash the rom
If you're using the Guru Reset ROM, then select WIPE, select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery"
and then proceed to rumrunner
"Also, CID change - is it really so easy ?" <- yes with S-off, it is easy, and you wont have any hex-editing to do, now or in future OTAs

the phone will be unTAMPERED, LOCKED (not relocked), 100% out-of-the box European unbranded, HTC Sense 5 ROM v1.28.401.7, but you'll receive OTAs up to 4.3 I think.
recovery will be stock recovery not CWM, so you can receive OTA
The phone will remain S-Off, and I suggest keeping it, if YOU INSIST on going S-On you can do so after running the RUU, but before taking any OTAs, by using "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3"

Ok, just to make sure.
When will be CWM recovery replaced with original one ? After running RUU ?
I definitely don't insist on S-ON. My warranty will be void anyways because of htc-dev unlock. And in case my phone would break down, i need S-OFF to restore everything to original.
Are there any security risks when i'm S-OFF ? Such as malware android applications etc ? As i have understood, no.
Can / should i take some full backup of my original rom, device, bootloader, recovery in case that something goes totally wrong ?
Many many thanks

No security issues whatsoever, S-Off will only allow you to write to certain partitions you can't with S-On. The ROM (Android 4.x.x) is responsible for the malware etc.

Yeah, su is required for rumrunner.
Yes, htcguru file use that command.
After the flash of recovery, a nandroid will backup only the OS.
For the sd you've to copy it into your pc.

1- Yes you need root
2- the link you provided only works if you are S-Off already
3- backup everything to PC (pics, music, etc)
4- use Call Logs Backup & Restore and SMS Backup & Restore if you need them (free apps in Play Store)
5- use Helium for apps+data, since you can't use Titanium
6- backup ROM using nandroid
7- dont worry too much about the nandroid, there are ones on @crushalots site

Hello, i cannot get through this point. I have installed HTC Sync, then uninstalled, so only drivers remained on my system.
I can use adb when the phone is normally booted, but then i don't have permission to write to that location.
When i reboot to recovery, adb devices shows empty list. Also that funny thing in windows taskbar starts spinning, finds "One", but fail to install driver.
Update1:
Ok, i managed to update adb driver to Android one. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1830108 device manager section)
Now i'm at next step. I pushed zip to /data/media/, but after choosing install zip, there is none on sdcard.
Trying to push that again.
Update2:
File appeared after second push. Installing right now. Hope phone will wake after this procedure. Fingers crossed, holding breath.
Update3
Ok, i flashed RUU, everything is fine until now.
Slovak language / Slovakia as location is missing. Should / can i change my CID for something and install corresponding RUU for that CID, so i would have Slovak Language ? I also get red text saying "THIS IS TEST DEVICE...."
I think, the correct CID for my region is HTC__032 - East Europe
What is the language dependent on ? Because the same RUU you recommended for me is also for HTC__032. Is the file same and languages are allowed based on CID, or how does this work ?
Also HTC_001 is in the first wave of updates ?
Thanks
delete pls

Been gone for a while, so what's your status now? How far did you get.

[SOLVED] Stock O2 UK Nandroid or Zip?

Hi guys
Basically I need to send my device into HTC for repair. It is S-OFF and I have a stock HTC European _001 rom on it. I really really need to restore to the UK O2_001 stock rom and get back to S-ON to avoid any possible issues with the warranty.
The problem is I can't find any O2 UK zips or nandroid backups to flash. For some reason the RUU files do not work for me, and I really don't have the time to be troubleshooting this.
I would really appreciate it if someone could upload a nandroid backup that I can use very soon? Otherwise I'll need to stick with the unbranded HTC Europe rom and risk them knowing I've unlocked the device.
Thanks for any help.

if you want to follow my guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
Files you'll need are in post #7 under "HTC One M7_UL - modelid=PN0710000 - cidlist=O2___001,O2___102"
EDIT: there's also this RUU http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...8_10.38r.1157.04L_release_353143_signed_2.exe
but as mentioned in my guide, i don't encourage going s-off to s-on on newer firmware

Hello, thanks for that
Unfortunately I can't seem to downgrade the bootloader. I'm on 1.61.
Not entirely sure what to do now.. Will it be possible to achieve S-ON again and lock the bootloader without downgrading the hboot?
I don't really have time to spend ages on this, as the phone will be getting collected on Friday and I'm busy with work. I also don't really have time to troubleshoot the 100000 reasons why RUU.exe files aren't working for me and why I can't downgrade the bootloader. May just have to send it in unlocked and hope for the best.

so quick and dirty? (and hope for the best)... did you use sunshine to s-off? before i post the steps.
haha
And yes I did. And I plan to use it again when I get phone back. Let me know your suggestion and I'll give it a go when I have some time

okay cool, i only asked because sunshine will work again (without needing to pay again), in case that infamous "tamper detected - rebooting" happens (shouldnt in your case but just in case it does)
gimme a few minutes, and i'll post instructions with links....
Thanks
I will check this out tomorrow when I have some time

okay, should be easy enough:
1) download Guru_Bootloader_Reset_1.0.zip and put it on your virtual storage
2) download 4.19.401.9-TWRP2633_combined_nowipe.zip
if need be change cid to a compatible one:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
fastboot reboot-bootloader
flash firmware
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 4.19.401.9-TWRP2633_combined_nowipe.zip
fastboot flash zip 4.19.401.9-TWRP2633_combined_nowipe.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
set back O2 UK cid:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid O2___001
fastboot reboot-bootloader
3) go to RECOVERY (it should be TWRP 2.6.3.3 from the file above) and run the Bootloader Reset
--> remove TAMPERED
--> set LOCKED
4) go back to bootloader, and check it says LOCKED, and no more TAMPERED
5) download RUU_4.20.206.16.EXE
and run it
(if it "exits" for some unknown reason, make sure you have this installed vcredist)
6) reboot the phone to make sure it boots up fine, do not take OTA updates
7) if you really insist, go s-on
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
8) reboot three times (do not take any OTAs, especially above 6.xx), and make sure no TAMPERED is triggered

You're a star! Thank you so much for that. After hours spent fumbling about I spent 20 minutes following your instructions today and everything worked perfectly. The Visual C++ file you suggested did the trick too, even after I installed several other (wrong ones) yesterday. Really happy this is finally sorted
Just a quick question. I haven't gone back to S-ON yet. I think it may not be neccessary for the warranty, but maybe I shouldn't risk it as I can always just gain S-OFF again via Sunshine once I get the phone back (unless they inexplicably change the motherboard). I'm wondering if there is a high risk of bricking my device if I run that S-ON command?
Cheers once again!

there's no risk in bricking using that "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3" command to set s-on; the RUU would have set everything back to stock; if in the unlikely event the "TAMPERED" comes back, you'll need to s-off again, and use my guide with the 1.xx RUU + nandroid method
as for sending it in S-OFF, it's really country/carrier/service centre/person specific.... from what i've seen UK is one of the most tolerant countries (some people have even sent the phone in with tamperd and running a custom rom, and still got the camera fixed)
but it's your call, i cant really say for sure how they would react.
and if all is good now, could you also edit the main thread title to include [SOLVED] (go to 1st post click EDIT, at the bottom of the edit window click GO ADVANCED, then you can edit the main title), thanks and good luck
