Hello people!
I made this widget(4x3) app using Yahoo Weather android app (available on google code as yahooweatherandroid) as the base. A big thanks to Nguyen Quoc Dat for developing the original and giving me a head-start with his easy to understand code (since this is the first time I am writing something in java ).
The original code was meant to be compatible with sdk version 3. So it did not have all the optimizations available in the later sdks. The code is now compatible with sdk version 14 and up (target version 17) having most of the optimizations. All the widget updates are done in the background threads so the main UI thread isn't caught up doing that. Also, clock updates are not done when the device is sleeping thus preserving battery (haven't tested this thoroughly yet but hoping it works fine. Will be great if someone tested this out too!)
One big thing I am not sure of is how this widget would fit on other devices. I just have a Xperia TL, and it looks great on it's screen. So I am hoping it would look just fine on other 720p devices (not sure how it would look other screen sizes. I'll appreciate if someone can help me out here).
Here are a few screenshots:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The app is pretty much the same from the original app. My main aim was to get the widget right. I'll polish the app soon.
PM me if you want to take a peak at the code. Remember that it is just the same as the original with a little modification.
Please be a little gentle on me if I have made any mistakes in my post or violated any protocol since this is my first post in XDA-Developers.
Cheers!
Spiderman3
Update:
The app is now cleaned up and a few bugs have been fixed!
Font sizes have been fixed and are not scalable (not sure if this is ideal but it makes the app and widget look good and uniform irrespective of the system font size).
A few screenshots of the app:
Enjoy!

I could not recreate the issue you were facing.
Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling the new version that I posted?
Once you set the location, it should immediately reflect on the app as well as widget. If it doesn't, you might want to close and reopen the app (not the widget). I think I have to dig a little deeper to see if this was some kind of race condition.
Thanks for bringing it up!
Updated with new app and bug fixes. See original post...

go into edit mode i.e hotspot turned off and then save the widget again but dont press back to leave. press home button.
if your hotspot mode is on then from app drawer open uccw and turn it off via settings,then go and press your app on screen and follow above save/home step. think its a bug that pressing back button does not update the widget.
if its not this then i will try and think what it is.
p.s nice clock pal.(just needs a small alignment to the left to centre,and maybe case17 a notch up )

think your issue here is hand angles. the imgs of the hands your using must be originally made pointing at the 3:15 time. eg. if you photoshop/gimp your own hand imgs,create them both at 90° (3:15) . pm asap mate.

Hi there, ill be trying this ty. Btw if u are doing a new rom, or the team is, make a beautiful notif pulldown, cause im a fan of notif bars, if it looks horrible, i don't flash! Don't get me wrong, but that's my suggestion. Gud luck, its nice to see a new team in action for mini :victory:
Edit: This theme needs lots of work and resizing. Most apps are force closing and so is settings. The notification widgets look too small and the black portion covers most of notif.
I also find visual artefacts, coloured patches like bugs popping out of nowhere. If resized, this would be beautiful. Sorry but even screenshot taking are force closing so, cant post.
Edit 2: Ah much better! Posting screenies soon!
Thank you so much for the review I will try to improve it I will post a v2 with less FCS within a minute I found the problem was in xml
Sent from my GT-S5570 using Tapatalk 2
Here you go screenies. The phone dial pad should be resized, buttons out of place. The notif looks good, but widget buttons could be made bigger. Some resizing here and there and its all good! The keyboard keys also need to be put in place. Thnx

v3.2 is in progress. Will find more things first, but so far 1 important thing is done. Inkeffect showing 'None' in settings, now shows choosen color. Updates will be in CWM for simplicity, and way smaller than a complete rom.
haven't got any feedback, so hard to say what to do, I think it runs like a train with no hassle, execpt for the one mention above, but that is sorted. Plain theming isn't something to update for. However NightTheme is uploaded (post #1)
Update for 'none' in inkeffects > settings added to post #3.

Wonderful! I can't really find anything bad, however I haven't tried everything If you apply the update you get correct ink choosen in settings (no diffrence otherwise), so it's not superimportant for trying purpose. But if you use it as daily rom for some time it can be nice to get that sorted.
I tip my hat for your efforts on this rom.
Wasn't bad at all.
The main problem are the ones you already noted.
The ink effect update kinda mess up the lockscreen of my wallpaper and it didn't solve the problem. If you can fix it in the version 3.2, this will be my daily rom.
---Pro abt theme---

---Con abt theme---
I didn't Setting UI. I understand it was "nightStorm" :what:

Thank you for pointing that out! I found the problem and sorted that (wrong ID link in smalis) (SecSettings.apk).
An other problem came across, darkred renders incorrect (yellow!)
That problem is in android.policy.jar in the darkred case. Problem is solved and yet another update is added/replaced (same link in other words). So there
is a new android.policy.jar in the update aswell.
Please check the changes and repport, if you have time and so

Well there is a thumbnail but not sure if the effect will actually work, didn't seem to when I just tried. Essentially you record a video of the item, process it in the gallery then when you look at it you can move your phone around the item just with movement. The only thing I can think similar is a 360* camera set up that was used at some sci-fi conventions to create a 3d photo
