nexus 7 two is real? - Nexus 7 General

Hi for all, anyone kown if is real the nexus 7 two, if but no 8 inches, what think? Thanks

Not real yet, as in selling, but it's probably been produced.
Should be 7" by all rumors.
Won't know until Google shows them...

I think 8" is a good size too. I played around with my sister's Note 8 and it's pretty nice.

An 8 inch would be nice, but doesn't seem likely. I am thinking of getting a 7 and a 10 this time around. Hopefully a new 10 will be released with the 7.

Google won't release a new 7 and 10 at the same time, its a marketing scheme to release different tablet sizes at different times so a lot of people buy the new 7 then they release a new 10 and people buy that.

All the rumors I've heard say 7 inches. As for release time I've heard anywhere from later this month to 4th quarter this year.

My guess would be this month. Staples just lowered the price on their nexus 7's today, so it seems like a release is near.

I covered this as leaks and rumors a few months a go on my site.
It is definitely real and is IMMANENT!
This time round I'll be getting the 10" version, as my Nexus 7 is still the snappy little bulldog it used to be, and I love it as much as the day I bought it, so why replace it?

Nexus 10 rumors have begun, are you going to buy the 7 now or wait for a "10"?
This article mentions Google may have a 10 inch tablet in the works.
So what will you do now? Will you order that 7, or hold out for a "10"?
I usually wait 30-90 days after a device is released to buy anyway. So I'm waiting for the moment to see if maybe I'll like the 10 if it comes.
Update: 10/9//2012: Looks like Google will partner with Samsung on a high-end 10" Nexus tablet, with pixel depth higher than the 3rd generation iPad.
Personally, I already got myself a Transformer Infinity (TF700T), really like it.
Update 10/12/2012: Coming first half of 2013.
Update 10/25/2012: Nexus 10 manual appears.
Nexus 10 official announcement likely to come October 29.

I'm still getting the 7" version. This is my first Android device and I'm not yet willing to shell out as much as for ipads. The 10" tablet probably costs as much as an ipad 2. Plus, ipads are already too heavy and clunky for me.

Damn, sir. You sure got some patience.
My life for Aiur
10 is too big and inconvenient for portability. 7 is perfect
Long live the One X
I wanted this since I wanted a 7 inch. So i won't really care if a 10 inch comes out. It's the 7inch form factor that attracted me.
I'm thinking they want to go after "The new iPad", which should have been named the "iPad 3". It has multiple versions at multiple prices.
From the iPad price page for reference.
Wi-Fi
• $499.00 16GB
• $599.00 32GB
• $699.00 64GB
Wi-Fi + Cellular

If Google makes a Nexus 10 with price points and versions like that. I'll probably just get a 16GB Wi-Fi only. I'm hoping a Nexus 10 has a lot of other nice added features as well. If they make a Nexus 10 that is simply the same inside as the Nexus 7, I'd just get a Nexus 7 and be done with it.
I guess I'll own both eventually then.
Both sizes suit me for different purposes.

I prefer 10 inch over 7 inch.
10 inch tablet with Wi-Fi ,16GB storage and rear camera for 350$-400$, will be a great deal.
still don't understand the want for a rear camera...especially on a 10" tab

Real estate agents LOVE that kind of thing. And plenty of other people in various professions where they need a handy quality camera and already use a tablet device.

It is great for Augmented Reality applications development.
I found the ipad too big to be properly portable, so I'll be sticking with the 7.
I prefer 7" for all kind of usage even out door......for a 10" i prefer to use my macbook 13".
Wonder if the glass from Nexus 7 is 10in including the bezel, that would make more sense.

A much as I want the 10 inch rumour to be true. I don't think Google will do it as they would really screw their partners over in a big way.
The 7 inch market other than the Tab2 is no-name Chinese tablets who Google don't care about. Samsung has more on-board capabilities in their 7in Tablets hence no MHL or micro-sd slot in the Nexus as not to piss off Samsung.
However the 10 inch market is more mainstream if they come in at cost again, are ASUS going to sell as many Transformers for 50% to 100% more or Samsung sell as many TABs. No way, so thats why I think the Nexus 10 is a pipe dream or it will be as crippled as the 7 (still ordered though)
I have an iPad 2 (which will be my last Apple device at least until the lawsuits stop) so I have a ten inch tablet already. I really preferred reading on my Nook Tablet, which I made the mistake of selling for a Galaxy Tab 8.9 (decent tablet but too long/wide). I think that for me 7" really is the sweet spot for reading, and everything else is just a bonus. I am hoping that it satisfies by tablet needs so I can ebay my iPad and start saving for the next Nexus phone.
I made an impulse purchase of the 7" the day it was available.
Would probably regret it if a 10" came out in the near future. Until then though ...
I've been wanting a good, fast 7 inch tab for a while. Nexus branding gives me pure google experience and the weight and size is perfect for reading books on the go (I have a very big ebook library, most of which are advanced math and physics books). I've never been interested in 10 inch tabs.

Trade iPad 3 For New Nexus 7 ?

I'm looking to get rid of my iPad 3 16gb and get a new android tablet. I can get £210-£230 for my iPad 3, And I won't be able to add money to it for a few weeks to a month to get another tablet
So, Do you think I should go ahead and get a nexus 7 32gb? Or keep/wait/save?
Just need some help deciding...

What's wrong with the iPad?
Wait at least another week, until googles keynote is over, MAYBE they'll announce anything new, like a refreshed Nexus 7 or something.
Other than that, you know benefits of android (based on N4 that you have) over iOS, so it's your choice. If you like smaller screen, go for N7, if you like the big thing, stay with iPad, because bigger screen android tablets actually worth getting are around 400$/€/GBP.
N7 is still THE 7" tablet to get I think, you can take a look at 8" galaxy note, that thing looks quite nice, and you get a bit more screen size because of physical buttons.
At least wait until googles keynote is over, and decide then.
PS: In slovenia people are selling iPads 3 16GB (3G) for around 350 (450)€
I suggest you to wait. The next nexus 7 will soon be released and won't be more expensive than the actual. Also ipad 3 has a lot better processor, but it's understandable that you get rid of ios like me.

Why not downgrade from iPad 3 to iPad 2 and from the money get youself a N7?
That way you an keep a 10" tablet and acquire a portable 7" one
Yesterday I sold my iPad 3 with cellular and bought iPad 4. I also got nexus 7 32gb for £130 on eBay really good condition. Having tried both os I wouldn't recommend getting rid of iPad 3 for nexus 7.
I would first test android before a complete switch. Also it makes sense to wait for new version so that don't feel downgrade in resolution.

Waiting for a Nexus 6 to replace my Nexus 4.
Google know people are on two year update cycles... They support Nexus devices for two years! They'll be looking for something to replace an N4 - even if its just an announcement around November surely...
Happy to wait till then. The plumetting price of g2 is an interesting one though. Shame there's no GPe for it...

Honestly? This year's pretty tricky. I know I'm going to upgrade relatively soon, but I'm looking at the new iPhone fairly seriously (especially with the rumored 4.7" screen) for the first time since I left iOS in 2010. The rumored iPhone 6 is currently slightly behind the rumored Moto X+1, with the rumored Nexus 6 sitting in third. Obviously this could all change with actual information, but for now I just don't know.
I love the unlocked bootloader/root and everything that comes with it, but I'm also tired of the ****ty battery and the mediocre camera. The Nexus 5, though obviously better than the 4, again seemed relatively mediocre compared to its competition with regards to both. I'm afraid the same will be true with the Nexus 6, though obviously I'm hopeful that it doesn't fall into the same trap that every Nexus device does.

well for the price of an iPhone you get:
1 nexus 5 = 2 year lifetime
1 nexus 5 = 2 year lifetime
1 nexus 6 = 2 year lifetime
versus
1 iPhone 6 = 2 year lifetime
If you're comparing iPhones with cheap androids (nexus or moto line) then it's not fair. You have to compare to equally budgeted devices like HTC One M7/M8, Samsung Galaxy S6?, LG's new superstar etc...
They will have comparable cameras and better screens

I bought the GSM Galaxy Nexus for $650 (maybe ~$100 less than the iPhone in Canada) and didn't get a good camera and battery. I'm not really using price as a consideration because it's not really irrelevant to my needs (though obviously a consideration for a lot of people). On Android, I want a good camera and battery, regardless of price, along with an unlocked bootloader, easy root, stock Android, and quick updates. The whole reason I skipped the Nexus 5 was because it didn't deliver that.
Galaxy S5, HTC One, etc. don't deliver that. The developer editions do, but again they have tradeoffs compared to the official ones (picture quality being the biggest concern, battery life also worse based on reports). If Android Silver can deliver that, I'm also interested. I'm just explaining why I'm looking at the iPhone and have no interest in convincing anybody else to...so there's that
Edit: Quick question, but where did you get the 2-year lifetime warranty for the Nexus 5? The Nexus 4 only has a 1-year warranty...I know because mine ran out and I was looking to get the audio jack replaced.
Let's wait until there's an official announcement before we discuss this

Nexus 5 set to continue?

Google have updated their mobile N5 page today.

Yeah, a little surprised.
But the page has been updated to tout Lollipop.
Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 gone, but Nexus 5 still there.
I think they will release a phone in that size range be it Nexus 6 mini or Nexus 5 2014/15 or perhaps a new name.
Which is why they continue to support Nexus 5. Kind of like what Samsung does with the 's' and 'note' series.
Is the Nexus 7 still being sold?

Nexus 7 is officially EOL so my guess is N5 is here to stay for a while
Nexus 5 looks sexy on that page. Can't wait for mine to look similar
I think they will keep selling the Nexus 5 for quite some time. Signs are all there. The updated page. The updated screenshots with Lollipop, etc.
The Nexus 6 is nice, but it is WAY too big and WAY too expensive for a lot of the people that bought the Nexus 5.
To me, the real interesting question to consider is what will they do next year?
Will it be Motorola again? And will it be yet another 6" size phone? What will happen to 5"? Will the current LG Nexus 5 be the last of its kind?
Will there be a 2015 Nexus 6 by Motorola (since they usually get two opportunities) and another OEM making a 2015 Nexus 5 (please someone say Sony)?
I hate to jump the gun, but it's something interesting to ponder.
Let oppo make a nexus phone it'll be the best.

In my understandings, Google will keep selling nexus 5 as a smaller variant, because lets face it, a lot of people dont want phablet and they know it. Also price is little high (now its top end hardware there, no cut offs like on nexus 5 so thats normal). But how long they will keep selling n5, i dont know, but i would dare to say until next october.

What do you mean usually? Six phones (counting the upcoming) and five tablets (counting the upcoming and the Transformer Prime) is hardly a relevant sample size.
I still think an Apple made (but spec'd internals like an Android flagship) 5in screen Nexus would be amasing.
On the N5 page it says: "5 Made for what matters". This is exactly perfect. The N5's specs are still good and will continue to be "enough" for a while. A phone that just "works".
With this move, Google effectively covered 2 market segments.

Yeah. I don't feel like I need to upgrade to Nexus 6 and I'm happy with that.
But, I still think they shouldn't make 6" Nexus. Instead, they should make an upgrade version of Nexus 7...
Would make perfect sense to keep the nexus 5 available because the snapdragon 800 is easy good enough I wouldn't upgrade to a phone with say a snapdragon 801 my nexus 5 flies compared to my wife's g3 and that's no slouch also I heard the snapdragon 805 is just another incremental upgrade from the 801.

To me Google made the best possible move this year, also with minimal effort. They already had the iPhone6 counterpart on the market with the Nexus 5, at pretty much half the price or less, so now they also have the 6+ counterpart, also for a much lesser price (still not cheap, but way cheaper). They effectively covered all size ranges right now, with both smartphones and tablets. Sure the N7 may have needed a small bump in specs, but for what it is, a cheap entry level mini tablet, it's more than enough for the kind of consumer looking for something in that range.
aye, I'm buying a 32g black updated one, just as a back up..
I'm not going anywhere from the nexus 5..
I got my phone last month and I'm perfectly happy with it and don't really want the nexus 6. So yeah, they should keep selling the nexus 5 along with the 6 and maybe refresh it next year as a nexus 5 2015 model.

Yes. The Nexus 4 was my first Android phone. I bought one sight unseen and loved it. I ordered a 5 the day it went on sale. For the first time in two years I'm not sure I'll buy the new model. Even ignoring the higher price, I don't know if I want a phone that big. Fortunately the Nexus 5 remains a powerful phone and I can see it carrying me through another year to see if Google rolls out something a bit smaller for 2015.
I'm so happy hearing such good news, because when other manufacturers discontinue support for their products after 18 months Google decided to keep supporting Nexus 5,even beside that it's almost 1 year old now.
That's why now I'm feeling even happier owning such a wonderful device. And really proud of Google's decision.
WELL DONE GOOGLE!
Maybe next year there will be a 5.2" 64bit version of the Nexus 5. After seeing the price of the N6, I decided to buy the N5. (again)
I wish Google wasn't being so quiet regarding their inventory. Was going to get a 16gig model for my wife and was hoping for a price drop. While the price drop seems unlikely now I would at least like to know when more will be coming in.
Anybody notice the Yellow Nexus 5 in the background of the pictures for the Nexus 9 keyboard case??

Is The Nexus 6 Going To Be The Last 6 Inch Phablet Period?

I think 6" is the perfect size for a phablet, anything above would be too big, IMO. From what I noticed, it seems like all the big companies have no future plans whatsoever on releasing a 6" phablet. All I have seen are phablets ranging from 5.5"-5.7". I recently lost my Note 3 and decided on ordering a Nexus 6 last week (it's coming tomorrow!!!), because it's probably going to be the last 6" flagship from any company as far as the near future is concerned. What do you Nexus 6 owners think?
