Hello,
Recently just using Haxplorer to tweak a game I was playing I changed a byte that I believe adversely effected my phone unfortunately. It heats up under normal to minimal usage and the battery life drops a percentage every three mins on average. I'm running ViperRom 1.1.0, bulletproof kernel m7 1.2 and the phone itself runs correctly. Any help in restoring the system values that may have been affected would be of much appreciation. I've tried all forms on wipe thru twrp and fixing permissions even using sprints diagnostics ## codes to reset and reactivate the phone have worked to no avail

Try dirty flashing your Rom maybe. Seems odd because it only searches bytes from the application currently running. Fyi, game killer is much better than haxplorer imo.
Dirty flashing. Do you mean. Installing over without wipe?

yeah, that's what he means.just wipe dalvik after dirty flash then reboot.
Attempted that, 1:11 I had 100% by 2:24 I was at 74% no third partie apps installed. Auto brightness. Power saver. WiFi off, auto sync off, GPS off.

Moniter your cpu clocks to see if they're running at max. Try better battery stat to see what's eating the most battery

Why don't you run the phone on stock kernel for a while first. Just to see what happens.

Or maybe just erase and redownload the app/game?

Running no third party apps. Wiped phone clean. Nothing but Google apps. Still power issues.

Downloaded the app battery calibration, root required. Reset battery.bin phone has been off charge almost two /half hours. At 86, currently, nope now 85% and phone is heating us with just using xda. Going to reset phone and flash back to stock. And try that for a day and if everything is set back to normal I'll reunlock and reflash custom Rom. If not. I'll take it to sprint, maybe it's just a bad battery and it just happened to fail on me yesterday

I was having issues until I did the following......(and I am on the same build as you)
Go into recovery and wipe the dalvik cache. Reboot.
Set the automatic screen tweak under CM settings/user interface
These two things have seemed to make a pretty big difference. I am not running any tweaks or anything and with moderate use (some wifi, 10-15 emails, 4-5 texts, gmail sync) I am at 89% after three hours off the charger. While this isn't great (IMO) it is lots better than I have been getting. Hope that helps.
I had the same issue, but with only 3 hours of life between full charges, and one phone call for 15 mins.
I reverted back to 8/24.
Smolck you mean the automatic back light right?
I wiped kalvic cache... ill see how it goes without batt tweak and no apps running.

Yea. I just set it to what I thought were "power saving" settings. It seems the Dalvik cache is what did the main thing to help. All I can say is that I am still over 80% and I have been off charge since 7:00am CST. And this 8/25 build is SMOKING fast on my phone
It is fast. Its even faster with launcher pro.
Are you using the batt tweak? Which kernel?
Down from 55% to 50% in 75min

That screenshot isn't enough info. But go to settings/about phone/battery use and you will get a better idea of what is using the most power.
From 100 to 90% in 2 1/2 hours now. That's pretty good right? Stock 8/25 kernel w no tweak. If it keeps working ill backup and add other stuff and see

Well I think its fixed. Managed 13 hours and still 35% left using Google maps and Pandora plus regular use. Running the same configuration.

Is there any way to see what app is preventing phone from stadby? my cm7 can not go to standby after 1 day of activity and doing a reboot fixs the problem. I want to find the app that prsvents phone from standby and just restart that single app instead of a complete reboot.

Umm I think this post would be better suited in the QA section.

there is an app named Android Status. using this app I can see uptime and awake time. Yes, I mean sleep, low power mode, or whatever u name it. it is important than when my phone is NOT in this mode, it uses too much battery.

If you posted in the QA thread it might help,
Also revision of CM7, kernel etc...
If your on a CM7 < #14 then update.
Also check the inbuilt battery use monitor, it should show what's keeping it awake.
If you want your phone to last on battery, stay away from CM7, it is known to use more battery than stock rom's, 24-26 hours is about the best you will get on CM7.
would u pkease move this to qa?
u khow, the problem is not cm7, I want to know what app is preventing me from sleeping.

Hello guys. It seems that I have extreme battery loss after a charge, but then the drain drops to a manageable level. I am running CM9 20120512, stock kernel. Here are some pictures:

Hey jc. Really? That can cause issues? I noticed that after like 3 hours it did enter deep sleep. I also just recalibrate the battery twice, but instead I let it fully discharge after calibration, then allowed for full recharge. It seems to be working better but will keep an eye on it.
Thanks for getting back to me and I love the work you're doing for the touchpad

Many apps have background services that run.

There's lots of info on using BBS here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
There's a bit of learning curve to using it.
Alternatively, you could re-install CM from scratch without installing any apps. Test battery drain. Install one app. Test battery drain. Install another app. Test battery drain. Etc.

Hmm that is an option. I actually had that app installed previously. But I'll check out the forum. I notice that Facebook messenger uses a lot of battery, but everyone and their mother has it installed.
When I let my phone charge over night, once it reaches 100% it starts to go up and down in percentage. This started happening after root and some app freezes/ disable
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
It might be helpful to name the "some" apps you froze (the "disabled" should not matter). Apart from that: At the second half of your screenshot, the device was permanently connected to power? So it goes down as far as 94% while connected?
Yes that's when I left it on the charger throughout the night. And when you see the slight decrease near the 50% range is when I got a text.
Here are the apps I froze:
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem using jellybeer and iodak kernel v7 (but also had this problem using optimus prime)
Percentage drop is inconsistent, 92-93-96-98 %, depends on the days
Battery stat reference points are created on power unplug so it's hard to know what's draining battery...while on power, it's not easy to troubleshoot
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
So have you tried to do anything ?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I'm heaving the same problem.
Sent from my LG-P880 using Tapatalk 2
At least nothing special about the frozen/quarantined apps. It's about the same stuff I froze (except for "Smart Log Service", "SystemBackupService", and "Talkback"). What ROMs you are on? Maybe that might shed some light (I'm on stock 4.0.3, v10h, and do not have that issue).
I'm currently on stock everything
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Well, "stock everything" is not detailed enough. There have been several "v10" versions (with Android 4.0.x), and now there are also "v20" versions (Jelly Bean). You need to be a little more precise
I have had my At&t Note 3 for about a week. When I first got the device I was amazed at the speed and great battery. But for some reason today lag started, rapid battery drain and screen keeps freezing. Has anyone else had this problem

Ouch. Not here. Getting 20+ hours on each charge. Have you rebooted? Sometimes a reboot helps clear up memory just like on a PC. Have you installed anything recently before the issues started?
Yes I have rebooted. Have not installed anything outside of playstore apps..hmmm I did install adobe flashplayer??

Haven't had problems with screen freezing, but I was getting some pretty subpar battery life.
It may be counter-intuitive but my battery life has Drastically improved by turning off power saver. I don't know if the throttle up/down on cpu and brightness is too aggressive and does more harm than good or what but this was the major offender for me. My battery went from ~10 hours to ~20+ on normal usage.
Some other things I did that netted a gain before turning off power saver.
Change Settings/Wifi/Advanced/Keep Wifi on During Sleep from always to only when plugged in.
Freeze app/task for S-Search
Freeze S-Voice
Turn off settings / controls / motions
Turn off settings / controls / air gesture
Turn off settings / controls/ smartscreen
Hey thanks for all the info. Will try all that u suggested
