Hi,
Yesterday I went from S-OFF to S-ON, re-locked the bootloader and went back to Stock via RUU to check if we have official 4.2.2 in Thailand yet. Was very happy and excited to see that we have it - downloaded, upgraded.
After that I had my first "You stupid idiot!!" moment when I discovered that I could not use 'revone" anymore - yep, should have read the forum first.
So to root my device, I generated the unlock token at HTCDev, followed the unlock process over and over again, however the device still stays in "relocked" state. The only thing it does is wiping the whole device. Anybody facing similar problems with a possible solution?
I did change CID to 11111111
Thanks in advance for any help.
For some reason - after repeating the unlock procedure another time it suddenly worked.
Now it's finally unlocked..

The OTA updated HBOOT to 1.5something and revone works only with the older version.

I just S-OFF my Vivid which left me still rooted, but now locked. Do I need to unlock again at HTCDev? I want to be able to flash ROMs without having to worry about HBoot.

The original unlock code will still work. You shouldn't have to gi through the HTC Dev process again.

I don't have it. But I just read another post where the guy was in same situation as me and tried the HTCDev unlock routine and it didn't work.
I also read in another thread that if you do the jbear s-off, it will revert to locked, but since the phone is now s-off, it doesn't matter if the bootloader is locked (s-off supercedes locked, maybe?). So since I'm rooted and have a recovery, do I have to worry if I flash a custom ROM?
Edit: I was worrying over nothing. I was able to get a new unlock code from HTCDev, no problem. It worked fine on the custom bootloader. I forget that unlocking wipes everything, but as I was planning to flash the PAC rom, it didn't matter.

MOVE (no copy) the titanium backup folder from "/data/media/" to "/data/media/0/"
That goes for most of everything.

i no that much i am refering to the red unlock sing in bootloader screen its says bootloader is unlock.like i said before i never lock it when i did ruu and ota and stayed unlock now is this a clitch or is it truly unlock and being a new hboot 1.55 you can unlock it yet until new exploit is availabel but yet my says unlock.how do i finnd out if it is truly unlock?revone?any advice
I seek the advice of the masters here, or really anyone who can answer, lol. ATT converted to Dev Edition, 4.4, S-Off, stock recovery, bootloader relocked to run the 4.3 Brightstar RUU. Okay, tried to use stock recovery to change radio back to the 4.3, gives error remote not allowed. Tried to sideload it, not happening either. Figured I need unlocked bootloader, which makes no sense since I am S-Off. Tried to use my .bin file to unlock again, nope, says it doesn't match. That's fine, well, not really, but I can re-run to get another one, but, am I missing something here? Do I need to re-unlock bootloader to change the radio, and do I have to do it with CWM, or TWRP instead of stock?
Well, it sure does require unlocked bootloader so that you can flash a radio zip using a custom recovery. Once I did that it worked fine, still can't figure out why I had to get another unlock code though, that is just strange. Anyhow, mod can close thread, I figured it out.

FYI yes this is normal, you always need a new unlock code when your bootloader is locked again. Don't forget you can easily unlock bootloader without htcdev when you are s-off.

Wow, this is news to me, how do you do that? And, I did not know that you need a new code each time, thanks for the info. I always thought it would be the same.

lock/unlock with s-off
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
Hi,
My device is currently S-Off. I don't have root anymore and I relocked my bootloader. I'd like to be able to remove the test device message but all the links I found requires to have root or to go back to S-On. I tried using HTC DEV to unlock my bootloader again to flash custom recovery and then to flash supersu.zip but it didn't unlock my bootloader. I also tried to just do a fastboot boot customrecovery.img and also didn't work. Any idea if with S-Off, bootloacker relocked, no root access, I can removed the HTC test device message?
thanks

Check out this thread on unlocking your bootloader without HTCDev. If you are able to do that, then you should be able to flash a custom recovery. You can use the Guru Bootloader Reset tool to remove the tampered sign and I think the test device will go away.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was referring to but I can't run that since I don't have root access. If there could be a temporary way of getting root access with a locked bootloader and s-off, that could probably work to use what's being said in your link
1) Which is the best recovery? C-Mod or TWRP or any other, i mean i want that to support maximum number of stable roms and that is widely used by developers. Can you suggest me a link?
AND
2) For any rooting procedure you first have to S-Off, then unlock the bootloader, root, then install a recovery and flash a ROM..........right?
AND
3) How to be S-Off and rooted and have Locked as a message on the bootloader?

Have you tried Weak Sauce to get root? I thought about it after reading about firewater s-off. This is a temp-root.

if you're still looking for this, root access is available in custom recovery (so no need to mess with the ROM), and with s-off you can flashed a masked firmware using ruu mode:

Unlock the bootloader through HTC's website: http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader
Flash TWRP and flash SuperSU through that.
S-off I barely remember how to do. All I remember was flashing a 4.4.2 build of CyanogenMod and running Moonshine on it.

What error exactly? You don't need to flash anything to get your token simply do "fastboot oem get_identifier_token". You can find all the instructions at htcdev.com/bootloader.
What is your "fastboot getvar all" ? (Don't share your imei/sn)

This is what it shows:
We're sorry, but it appears your attempt to unlock the bootloader on this device has failed. This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.

you'll need sunshine (which cost you 25$) to root + s-off + unlock bootloader. I consider it worth every penny
I also believe that Kingroot will provide you temp root (will lost root upon rebooting). I havent use it for quite sometime, dont know if they improved it yet but i doubt it

You can't unlock a Verizon phone using htcdev.com. Verizon asked HTC to block bootloader unlock because they don't want their customer to flash stuff on their phones. So like said above you'll need to temp root your phone so you can use sunshine to unlock your bootloader and s-off
I think I have to sell this one and buy something newer so I can play with it... Thanks!
I lost my HTC One M7 (ATT) variant late last year due to a charger issue frying the mainboard. I finally picked up a replacement last night which is the Verizon Model at a good price and it is in brand new condition.
The previous owner updated to the Lollipop 5.02 version which lives on it now. I have tried every method including the latest Sunshine to get it to root or even temp unroot.
SupeSu
Kingroot
Sunshine
HTCDev (before I knew Verizon locked it down so much)
It is the HTC6500LVW.
Is there any method that works at this point?

You need to use kingoroot to get temp root and then use sunshine to unlock and s-off. There is a thread in the verizon general section explaining in details.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Labs
I tried Kingoroot all weekend long and it did not work no matter what I tried.
I was at work today, tried again and it finally did it's thing. I then used Sunshine and got the rest of the job done, and then removed Kingo and put the SuperSu on there and am now happy to report all is good with it.
As for why it did not work in the first several attempts, it is beyond me.

Was it Kingroot? Or Kingoroot? Either way both don't work for me. Can you link me the guide you used.
