I always kept my previous phone in my back pocket (even when sitting). I'm afraid doing this will crack the screen on my Note 2. I still carry it in my back pocket, but take it out when I sit. Now I'm worried that I'm going to leave it sitting somewhere and walk off without it. I usually have a shirt pocket, but the Note 2 is a bit heavy. I'm a thin guy so it just kind of hangs there in the pocket and pulls my collar to one side. Thinking of starting to wear cargo pants with side pockets or maybe investing in a travel vest like the Scottevest. Just curious to see how other people are dealing with this.
At work I carry it in my back pocket as well and take it out when sitting down; still generates curiosity looks at the meetings from those who never seen Note 2 up close. There is no way you can sit on it by accident without noticing it. Having tempered glass on helps a bit with a piece of mind for a display. Regarding leaving the phone on a table or in a car while walking out, I wear a smartwatch now which sends a buzz if I'm outside of bluetooth range. Worked great a few times when I left my phone in the car.
A few days ago at the store some teenager at the register gave me a concerned look and asked how many times have I dropped my phone. She had iPhone and was complaining about dropping it all the time. I guess after awhile you just get used to it. Still have my S4 loaner, but would never switch to it from Note 2, bigger screen makes a huge difference for me. Just keeping my fingers crossed Samsung won't mess it up with Note 3 by keeping outline size the same and only shrinking the bezel to fit a bigger screen (since rumors flying about 5.9"/6" display).
My wardrobe has experienced no such change.
The style of clothes that I wear are capable of pocketing the Note 2 easily, and no I don't wear cargo pants very often or really baggy pants. Just regular jeans, slacks, shorts, etc; that have decently sized pockets.
no change for me either. I wear a lot of hoodies that have big pockets in front. I wear larger jeans, but not the "there's a big dookie load in pants" boggy, or i'm wearing gym shorts. The phone fits in a lot those pockets fine. I never put it in my pocket; the front ones with pants.
As for leaving accidentally leaving it, I've done it a few times. Always there when I got back. Panic attack when I did it at school and realized when I got home. My suggestion, put it in something you're not going to forget such as briefcase. If you forget, you still have it because it's in the briefcase. I starting putting mine in my backpack. Unless you're getting something urgent, you get address the emails and texts after the meeting anyway. Set priorities and boundaries, and it'll help with the GN2 issue.
I lost 32lbs and the note 2 fits in my pocket all day no problem now. It's amazing what a little cocaine exercise can do. :victory:
Hasn't changed one bit
Big people don't need to alter their wardrobe to accommodate the N2

To the OP, I've been sitting on my note 2 in my back pocket every day for months and I don't think you're going to break the screen.

No change here. Front jeans pocket as always, althought I do have the odd pair with shallow pockets so the Note II is the biggest I will go with a phone.
I love it so much I'm not really interested in upgrading to the Note III, which will probably be slightly bigger.

I got tired of carrying my N2, so I switched to a S4. The N2 is a great phone to use when seated, but I hate walking with it. It uncomfortably fit in my backpockets, so I often carried it in my front pockets. That caused my leg/lap to sweat where the N2 was. I wear slim fit polos/shirts and chinos for work, so the phone's shape/outline would protrude outwards LOL. Eventually I began carrying my N2 in my hands instead of my pockets.
I'm 5' 4” 118 pounds and I don't have any trouble carying this phone anywhere, and I have not had to change my clothing at all. Yes I do get some comments like " Is that the iPad mini?!?" When I pull it out of my pocket but most of the people are just joking and they always ask how it fits in my pocket and how thick/heavy it is so I let them hold it and put it in their pockets and 95% of the time they are surprised from how normal it feels, and this is coming from iPhone users almost every time. If you wear skinny jeans or really tight pants/shorts you will deffinetly have trouble but if you just wearing normal slim fit shorts/pants or loose fit pants you'll be a-okay!

Change? Wait... people change their clothes to accommodate a phone? Seriously? Shouldn't your phone complement you, and not you complement your phone? Lol.
I haven't had any changes! I wear the same clothes and everything.
I haven't had to change my clothes at all, then again I've always worn baggier pants and shorts. If people run into this issue I suggest bringing your style back to the day of hammer pants and fanny packs :thumbup:

No change necessary, it fits in my pockets for both my jeans and shorts. Can be a bit awkward to get out of my pocket though when sitting down, especially in jeans.
What I really want is a phone holster... not the type currently available, but something where the point of attachment with your belt would be the top of the case or just above it, instead of the middle like everything else.

I've seen people wear carrying cases only a scarce amount of times, and I totally forgot how people manage to wear these.
I have a carrying case for my phone (not the Xperia), and it is so bulky! It's for the Samsung SCH-i760 btw. Anyways, so this is how I wear it: I basically use the "clip" to clip onto my belt, but I notice it is so bulky.
So when I usually wear shirts that cover almost pass the fly/zipper of my pants. And when I try to pull my shirt down to cover my pant, it covers the damn thing, and it looks like I got big tumor on the right or left side of my stomach.
So then I clip it on my pocket, it looks better, but now the pong hangs more loosely. It's kinda funny how these carrying cases rarely have a model for them to wear the carrying case, this is because companies know that it's freaking ugly to carry these things, ugly = no sales.
So if I am doing it all wrong, and if I am wrong that it's freaking ugly, then tell me this: what is the proper method of wearing these damn things?
I always wear a belt so...
With baggy shorts you can wear the phone case backwars and have the clip facing away from your body and the phone more or less in your pocket if you wish i suppose...
put on some weight and tuck it under your belly ha ha
but serious i only use a case when i'm in work as i do manual work and tools go in my pockets... most the time my x1 is in my pocket.....
If you wear a suit jacket, it clips onto your pants fine and the suit covers the device without looking like you have a "tumor"
If you ever have to take your suit jacket off...well, then you have a device clipped onto the side. But with proper slacks and tie, it doesn't really look out of place.
From what I have noticed, most people who use these kind of cases are the ones who tuck in their dress/button-up shirts.
I prefer my pocket....

Is than an X1 in your pocket or are you horribly deformed...oh, wait, your avatar says everything.
I use the sonyE generic case
it got a clip but mainly keep it in my pocket
as it's kinda hard to get off when I put it on
the side of a pair of pants
and don't even get me started on having it on a pair
of boxer shorts
I wish I dared wearing one clipped on the belt every day... it is so practical, esp when you like me always have the shirt tucked into the jeans/trousers. But it looks kind of silly, right? So I only use it when I travel and really need it because I then carry several phones, plus it's a pain if the phone drops out of the pocket when your'e cramped into a small taxicab in some foreign place.

I want to buy the seidio active case but I've read in some reviews that the coating on the back peels off. Has anyone had that problem? And I'm wondering if it is just the black one.
Does anyone know of a similar kind of case that would do a better job?
Yes. I have this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-ACTIVE-Droid-Incredible-Pearl/dp/B003UTV03O
Been using it for over a month and so far it's great. Only issue with the white is that it's starting to turn a little gray from dirt. I'll probably buy a blue one after it gets nasty enough.
The white looks cool if clean, but it's hard to keep it that way.
To you I'd recommend:
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-ACTIVE..._1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1313800802&sr=1-4
I've researched a bunch of cases before I settled on this one and I'm still glad I did. Only thing I regret was picking white. Very solid, doesn't slip off, isn't too grippy but isn't too sleek either. Makes it easy to hold, really a great case. Oh and it looks hella sexy.
I've had mine in burgundy for well over a year, with no peeling, flaking, or any problems at all. It's saved my phone on many occasions, including face-down drops onto the roadway. When it gets dirty, I just take it off and wash it off with soap and water.
Well worth the money.

I have the exact same case, in the same color. I have to agree with Myron 100% All you need is a little soap, maybe a washcloth or soft brush, and it'll look brand new and have that soft-touch feel again. Be sure to take the case off your phone before cleaning it.
I used that case forever! I had the black one, it was awesome! Best case ive ever had, upgraded to the extended battery and cryd a little bit because i couldnt use it anymore... great case though!

What's the best way I can protect my dinc while at the gym? I was using the rocketfish Bluetooth headset and Pandora while at the gym and I was able to leave my phone in my gym bag, but as of yesterday my headset stopped holding a charge. So now I'm stuck with using the 3.5mm earphones. I am using the 2150 extended battery, but I can switch back to the stock battery seeing is how I have a trident kraken case laying around. Would that be enough protection for my dinc from moisture and the occasional drop of weight on it? Or is there anothet alternative? I also don't want an armband holster, I would prefer to keep my phone in my pocket.

I also have the seidio active (burgundy) i love this case its decent protection and it dosent make the phone to bulky. It also looks really nice.
Have a seidio Active white case on right now. Great case, great protection, dropped my phone about 4 times since i put it on a year ago and never a scratch on the Inc, including the one time when it hit the pavement facedown when i forgot it was on my lap leaving my car.
As others said the white gets really dirty, i throw my phone on my bed each night and my red bedsheets have tinted the white to become red - LOL.

I ordered today!
May post pics later if requested?
I got this case today and I'm very happy with it . shipping was very fast it only took 2 days to come from florida . I like how the corners are protected with hard material, but everything that touches the phone is soft .
You can't know your limits until you exceed them.
I got mine Friday, very fast shipping.
I don't think it interferes with the edges. Stand doesn't really work in portrait mode. Either mode well when plugged in which is how I mostly use it.
Overall, I'm glad I got it. especially at half price, not sure I would get it at full price.
Got my case today too. Love the kickstand
Sent from my HTC PH39100
By propping something under the power cord so it's straight and not pulling down, I've had better success getting it to stand up in portrait mode.
After using this case/holster for a while I have more feedback. The spring loaded clip on the holster would be better if the spring were stiffer. It doesn't take much effort to release the phone. I fear that lifting my jacket will one day will cause it to fall.
I haven't dropped it yet, but probably will soon now that I've said that.
The holster clip has a few times found its way under the softer part of the cover at the top edge (where the ear speaker is located).
I work in a physical environment and have no scratches on the hard part of the cover.
So far, is give this this a 9/10. The only hit is the weak retainer spring.
You can't know your limits until you exceed them.
I was wondering if someone made a carry case with a shoulder strap would you guys use it? I would and I'm looking for one but can't find anything that doesn't look like a girlie pocketbook.
As a man that is engaged to be married to the most amazing woman on earth, I already carry one. It has a strap, it's colorful and pretty and I hate it. But her purse works. Thats would be ok. but i am not sure i would trust that with my stuff. I do like their classic messenger bag but i would really like to see more pics and maybe a hands on before trusting my stuff in a bag company that seems to be going for looks. the 5.11 and maxpedition bags are built like tanks. very strong material build.
The integrated bottle opener is a nice touch though.
I like the bags from Rickshaw. I just haven't been able to justify the cost yet. Would love to grab a Mini Commuter.

Whoa seriously there is nothing wrong with UTG (under the gun). They make a lot of crap and a lot of quality stuff at a decent price. they're made to contend with higher priced items and do this well. My job sells like 100+ UTG items. AND I happen to own a 2011 Kia Forte Koup. It is an amazing car! No really... go to Kia and test drive one. Or an Optima. They're amazing cars nowadays. And the money I saved by buying this car goes to things like my tablet and cheaper bags and anything else I want to splurge on.

I got with android because i am a fan of linux and open source. I also believe i should be able to do what i want with my mini computer. Android phones are not that much cheaper then iphones and no matter what anyone says iphones work really will with other apple products. And actually, i am considering the iphone 5 when it comes out. Since the trend of android is making high end devices huge. I want a high end phone with a 4" screen. I dont need to carry around 2 tablets. Thats nice that you have a kia. Will it be running strong in 10 years? We'll see. I see plenty of honda, toyota, lexus, chevy, fords, and dodges from 02 on the road. not too many Kias though. Sacrificing price for quality is not wise in my decision. And like beestee said there is a structural different between the bags. I also didn't have anymore attitude in what i said then the attitude that adam had when he said i got ripped off.
Now back on topic.

I like that sandbag. i'll have really give it a once over the next time i see one in the stores. I also have the bag listed below. I have seen it for about $75 but i paid $90 for it. That is what i use when the family goes to the zoo or disneyland. I have also used it for a 3 day camp/hike trip. Worked really well. If it was winter or any longer then i would have had to use a bigger bag. Day hikes just get the 5.11 PUSH. Take 5 min and watch the video on the MOAB 10. You'll see a lot of attention to the little details in the construction of this bag.

I pulled the trigger and got a deal on the Max Jumbo KISS bag. I think it should suffice. I just dropped my N7 on the curb because my 4yr old kicked it off the seat while I was getting her out of the truck. This is what happens when your hands are full folks lol....
I'll post a review of that bag when I get it next week. :good:
I like the KISS. I looked into that because of the zipper pouch on the side. The push pak has two zipper pouches for water. I liked the idea of the full zipper but my hand didn't fit inside that pouch. Couldn't get headphones out of the bottom. But I still like that bag

Do not forget the having to change bags to match what your wearing. I bought the nexus 7 because i got tired of always having to be sure my bag or purse was big enough to fit my a500 in..I love the device but with its size i might as well pack my computer around.. My nexus will fit in even a larger clutch bag.And a smaller purse that works well with a tiny spring strappy or strapless Dress..
You have to look good no matter what....
guys can get away with nearly anything . Get you a pair of cargo shorts with those pockets that go 3/4 the way around the leg put a hard shell case that opens at the top and there ya go.. nice protection and easy to access... pssssss
with the above about the 4 inch phone i so agree .. the sweet spot on a phone size is 4 inches..Anything bigger is to much to hold in my hand . It must Make calls and Tether to my tablet.. What more do you need in a cell phone if you have a 7 inch tablet...
I personally would NOT use a i phone ... it may be very user friendly But we are all individual people..We deserve to have a device we can make our own.And not be locked into what the manufacturer say is BEST FOR US..
Ok all lets go shopping now...

Yep, I don't buy a purse if it can't fit a small notebook, or now, if it won't fit my N7 and a charger. And I change lanyards, purses, paracord accessory, ocassionally shoes, and hat for the day, sometimes during the day if I have to change for events.
And I have a captivate glide, which is about four inches, and a physical keyboard that makes me giddy (except when looking at cases).
All I can say is thank god black goes with 'everything'! -Ara

I've recently bought all sorts of bits and bobs for my GN2, cases, charger, car mounts..........this vent mount was one that I bought as a throw away item just to test it thinking that it wouldn't be up to much but worth a punt.

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised.......it grips the Note 2 perfectly, is rock solid in the car with plenty of adjustment available. It's not one of these that just slides into the vent and latches on, it's spring loaded and the actual grip section that goes into the vent is metal, and can be mounted in vertical or horizontal vents. I'm not a big fan of the suction cups style of phone/satnav mount on the screen as I prefer full visibility, this keeps it out of the way nicely and the rubber feet rest on the fascia offering additional support.
It's quite light plastic, but in my opinion well worth the few £s, delivery was within 2 days.
I have had two of them and they work quite well. However, the PU material breaks down during hot summers in the car and turns quite gooey which leaves a residue every time you remove the handset. When it breaks down, it also becomes a real dirt and grime magnet. I am hoping they come out with a next generation material that addresses this issue.

A UK 'hot' summer = rain. I'm hoping it will survive a baking 22 degrees C!

I'd be afraid I'd cook it with the heater.
I got one to. It is ok as you described, but not fit well in my Ford Fiesta.
