Latest 2.24 firmware. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a tmobile htc one.
I am supercid and s-off with of course bootloader unlocked through htc dev.
I have flashed the latest wwe firmware.
i removed hboot.img so i can keep 1.44
My main question is...
Is it best for me to just keep the latest radio?
Or reflash tmobile radio and rcdata?

Test it out a few days to compare, newer radios are typically a disputed thing. They work well for some and not for others.

orang0001 cid help

hi
want to debrand my fw to Europe stock or ww stock to get latest updates ect
im on cid -orang0001
fw- 1.28.61.7
any help please
S-off needed but not sure it will help, I heard something you will be not able change cid, but that might be just rumors
Sent from my HTC One X+ using XDA Premium App
You cant debrand it unless your s-off, which you wont be on that cid.
But you can unlock the bootloader, flash cwm and install a generic rom, which is pretty much the same. You`ll have no orange crap on it. And you`ll have the latest updates, roms are updated within a few days, sometimes before.
If you want to use another sim other than orange, call orange and get the unlock code.
whats the best stock generic rom for htc one please

[Q] MID/CID question

Hey everyone,
I am new to the HTC world, coming from Samsung, and have some questions. I can't seem to find the answer so I'm hoping someone here can help out.
I am currently S OFF and Bootloader unlocked. I am interested in changing my MID and CID so I can receive OTA updates faster. AT&T is way too slow.
From what I've read I need to change my MID and CID to flash a developer edition or international edition RUU.
My question comes in two parts:
1. Which CID is most fast at giving updates and
2. What is the cooresponding MID?
On a side note, if anyone knows, how do I find out which RUU to flash, generally from what I've read, the filename isn't very descriptive as to which CID it's for.
Thanks,
RPelham

Well I am not sure flashing the intl version will give you all the things you need to run on AT&Ts network but for the Dev Edition the CID is BS_US001 and the MID is PN0712000.

[WORKAROUND] Developer Edition on m7_ul

So, if I were to get an HTC One, it'd be an 801s (m7_ul). Provided that it doesn't ship with the 1.54 HBOOT, I'll be S-OFF'ing it. Since I want to receive OTA updates from the latest stock ROM, atm the Developer Edition, I'll be flashing that.
A few questions:
1) AFAIK the RUU and OTAs contain a radio. Will the radio included in the Developer Edition RUU/OTAs work completely (LTE and all) with the 801s/m7_ul/PN0714000?
2) If not, does the OTA check the radio?
HBOOT 1.54. Eww.
Suggestions on a custom ROM are welcome.

1) There is only one RUU for the bright star developer edition. The LTE should work.
2) I don't think they check the radio, but it may replace it. Just make sure it has its original recovery when completing the ota.

So, if I have the Brightstar radio installed, as the RUU does, LTE should still work, right?
(The OTA's don't like it when you're rooted, I believe.)
(The actual Developer Edition phone doesn't support Optus' LTE bands. Or any Australian bands, for that matter.)

Oh I see. I'm with Vodafone and my plan doesn't include 4G LTE, but HSPA+ works fine.
So I assume the Developer Edition RUU doesn't include the appropriate LTE radios for Australian use. I think if you use the fastboot command fastboot boot recovery.img you could flash an Australian LTE capable radio.
I hope it works for you! Let me know how it goes.

Yeah, that's what I was imagining. It'd work with 3G, except for one band. I'd just have to have access to a computer after an OTA update if I want to use LTE.
Thanks!
I'll update this thread when I eventually do this, which may be in 1 week to 1 month...

Awesome! I hope you won't get the one with a newer HBOOT, which I think isn't very likely because I think know not too may carriers have updated to 4.2.2 yet.
Are you buying yours outright?

I'll probably get mine from Kogan, which seems cheapest reliable retailer atm. Buying outright, so I can take advantage of Virgin's $10 off plans when you BYO, as well as the bonus 1GB data promo.
I sincerely hope I don't get a newer HBOOT. In the case I do, I'll probably go with a custom ROM. Probably ARHD.

I've had a look in the 3.22.1540.1 zip as well as the 1.29.1540.3 OTA, and haven't found any radios. I hope this is a good indicator.

I hope so too! It'll save you some trouble flashing the radios after each ota. Mine updated to 4.3 yesterday so I'm glad.

Nope, Radio isn't checked.
My HTC One has arrived, but unfortunately, it has HBOOT 1.54.
It's a 2.xx.708 from Hong Kong which has MID PN0714000 and CID HTC_622
How sad.
Going the custom ROM path.
I'd like suggestions on what custom ROM any of you guys use. I'd prefer one without third-party apps like file managers, or Flash player.
I'm looking at TrickDroid or Maximus HD.

[Q] HTC OTA Update rebase hboot?

From my understanding, the new T-Mobile OTA to 4.4 should bring us a new version of hboot and radio.
According to a firmware flashing post in the main HTC One forum, wifi calling is baked into T-Mobile's radio.
Now that I want to go to a 4.4.2 custom ROM, I have two questions.
How do ViperOne and InsertCoin manage to incorporate Wifi calling if the functionality is baked into the radio? Or does this mean they have the new radio and I will get all the optimizations supposedly to come with a new version?
I understand that Hboot version 1.56 is coming with 4.4. I'm currently on 1.55. Does this have any implications on me updating? Should I wait for the OTA update then convert to a custom ROM since technically, if I do it right now, I'm on a different base?
I'm really confused since this is my first HTC phone. My old Sony never was this complicated.
If I said anything wrong could you please explain? Thanks!
Anyone?

I have installed InsertCoin 7.14(KitKat based) on my HTC One with bootloader 1.55 as my One hasn't received the update. No issues there. Sorry I have no idea regarding ur TMobile issue

What ROMs do I use for HTC One M7 Telus?

I'm on the Canadian variant, Telus. What forum section should I be in and is it safe to flash AT&T files as I remember with my S3 I could flash AT&T files even though I was Telus.

Telus M7 is a GSM variant (M7_UL) so you can flash every custom rom for (M7_UL) you find here in the GSM M7 forum. You can also flash roms for the M7_U variant but wouldn't recommend doing it as it will disable LTE.
I have flashed a lot of ROMs from this forum for my Rogers M7, which is basically the same as yours.

Which ROMs have you flashed?
I have flashed Skydragon Google Play Edition by Holy Angel. I also have flashed ROMs by artur0588 and Mike 1986. These are just a few that I have had great success with. There are so many good ones here.

If you have unlocked bootloader, s-off, cid 1111111, and twrp. You can flash and test any rom you like.

He doesn't need s-off nor supercid to flash any GSM roms.
An unlocked bootloader and the correct custom recovery version is all he need.
S-OFF is only needed if he want to convert its Telus phone to another Variant e.g Convert from official Telus software and firmware to official Rogers software and firmware or if he want to downgrade to an older version version.
@karmasblade
Telus M7 is M7_UL = the most common M7 model (GSM + LTE) that almost everyone have here. All roms made for GSM variant (M7_UL) will work on Telus M7. Just don't forget other requirements: some roms requires a specific custom recovery version to be flashed and also requires the latest firmware to be installed on your phone, in your case latest Telus Firmware is 7.17.661.7.
You can see what your firmware is by using this command:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Version-main string is your firmware version.
