Hello guys..
I have Galaxy S the Arabic version 2.1, and I just upgraded to the european version of 2.3.3 and I am running into some issues.
The 3G or Data is not working at all.
Also the Clock Alarm is not functioning.
Does anyone know a solution for that...
Would really appreciate it. Thanks so much
I had some issues, mainly music game bugs(music was not working) and feedback vibration and sound on swype didn't work.
I back to 2.2.1, but if somebody can help me i really apreciate it.
thanks
Wait for release of Gingerbread instead of using beta .
The 3G or Data is not working at all.>> Modem /CSC for Europe ???
Try factory reset >>> Try complete wipe of phone back to 2.1 and install 2.3.3 beta for your location
jje .
hi,
Try flashing modem and CSC for your region.Hopefully that should solve many issues. And the last thing you could do is flash back to stock android ROM.
Thanks guys for your help...
I actually entered the APN settings for AT&T America and the data worked fine afterall.
My only problem now is to get arabic support and I am thinking of trying a rom for that..
Thanks again

I have a gsm p1000 and use the overcome 4.0 gingerbread rom by alterbridge86 on xda developers site. It's quite stable, smooth and fast. No problems after a month of use.
Site is down atm but the alternridge forum has mirror sites with the appropriate files.
Good luck

you surely can install rom from CWM Recovery just head to overcome thread in dev section or any gsm rom thread in dev section and read in.
if you already have CWM then its easy.

Overcome is down for now. Here's a mirror = guide... In the event of preferring zips to install ; take a look at AF974's recent ROM.
As for theming, use the Kitchen and build a theme to measure.

The step-by-step install is in the mirror-guide I posted earlier....
thanx man, will try it for sure, but will I loose my touchwiz? and man thanx a lot, if u need any gamea or apps for ur tab I can send u some links for ur help. . . just private message me. . . btw thanx. . . .
You can do this for GB stock'ish or just go with full_overcome4.0 rom which is an all in one rom+kernel
Go here and download gbsafe_v5. Zip. It has everything you need including drivers and odin files
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317384
Also download overcome-kernel_4. 0.tar file as well.
Once you downloaded these two files plug in your tab to usb and wait for that phone and pc screen or download mode screen.
Go here and follow steps up to 10.
magrathearoms.weebly.com/install.html
Your phone is now stock'ish GB with OC'ed kernel including custom clockwork recovery. This version also comes with phone capabilities unlocked so you can use it like a real phone. All you have to do is load tmobile. Modem file. If not then use as wifi only.

Hi,
Loosing the TouchWiz depends on the ROM you choose to flash, most (if not all) custom Rom's don't include it and stay as close as possible to stock/AOSP...
Cheers
not sure if anybody know what could've caused my P1000 to
reboot whenever i turn off Flight Mode with sim card inserted.
i'm a proud OverCome user since OverCome 3.1.
wiped off my tab after system slowed down cos i wrongly forced
move app to SD.
i install it 100% using the guide with wipe option,
my tab got rebooted whenever phone calls coming in or after phone calls.
flashed with stock rom from samfirmware, tried DXJPC, JPJPC.. all same results.
pit file is gt-p1000_mr.pit
not sure what problem..
i'm using P1000, Malaysia (GSM)
thank you in advanced for any advices
Not a hundred percent sure but I think the device needs the reboot to register the sim.

The deal about modems is the differences in supported bands. You seem to be originally on modem DDJPA (baseband) If you flashed the OC 4 you should still be on it as OC doesn't include modems. Your best guess is to take a look at the modem thread and pick JPZ or JQ2, as I did
BTW, OC 4.1 is out with a more up to date kernel based on GB 2.3.6...
Cheers

Hi,
You might want to check the Overcome 4.1.0 thread... they have several packages of 'removed' apps, you may get lucky there.
i'm using a LG O2X, installed the EAGLESBLOOD™ Ice Cream Sandwich AOSP [4.0.4] build #4 and r having a few problems! i'm having problem with a lot of dropped calls, inconsistent data (a few minutes on, a lot more minutes off), both cellular and wifi & there's some options in settings that will crashed such as developers option! even when i'm connected to the the my cellular data, the download speed is abysmal! i was using MIUI previously and i can get 2Mbps+ connection easily through my cellular but now, even a 900kbps download will take ages, not to mention a lot of unsuccessful downloads!
i've nvflashed my phone back to stock rom before flashing my phone. is there any solution to this?
thanks in advance!
help?

anyone who can help me?!?!
Hi
I cannot help, but maybe you can help me
I would like to try that rom myself but I saw lot's of people have issue with it and all mainly related to the baseband used.
Mine is currently 1035.21_20110725 and I am running CM9 skang3 (I know it's pretty old) ...
so if your tell me your BB, I'll know that I don't need to try that rom under this BB :good:
Also it's bad we need 10 post before being able to post in a dev forum, so at least it will help us reach the goal !
cu
same!

my baseband is the same as urs.... so u can try others now! well, i may go Nova HD in a few days time if no1 can help me.... i actually even pmed the EB developer but no reply yet.
lolz, i do think that the 10 post is actually a bit pointless as if i want to get to 10 posts faster, i'll just bump my own thread though i dont intend to do so! and i'm still far away from the #10 target! ^_^
changing baseband!
just wondering, if i flash another baseband via SmartFlash P990, will it help or will it render the ROM unusable? anyone can help me with this query?
Don't think you'll break anything by flashing your BB, I did it 2 times already, but of course if you put a BB not compatible with the rom you use your phone will not boot, you'll have to flash a new rom via CWM ... so at least put some rom files ready on your sd card

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S GT-i9000 on Orange, UK. I've only had it a week because I bought it off my brother. I upgraded to ICS 4.0.3 and although it seems fine, there is no signal at all, EVER. Although it get's wireless Internet! And the SIM isn't damaged in any way, so it is definitely a software issue. The Internet is a bit strange, because it is coming from my network, not Wi-Fi (it's off, as is bluetooth).
I'm liking ICS, but obviously I need a signal. It was easy to upgrade, I just booted from the zip I placed in the bootloader. But I can't downgrade the same way. I've tried looking for old Gingerbread files, but can't find any! All the Depositfiles.com links are dead. So, ideally I would like to stick to ICS and find a signal fix, failing that I guess it's a downgrade that I need?
Or should I upgrade to Jellybean?
I couldn't find anything on people having similar problems with network loss, but I'm 99.99% certain it is the software causing the issue.
Thanks for reading.

I'm downloading DarkyROM now, but it's going to take 2 hours! Is this the right way to flash a modem? I've not done it before.
Hi
I had a similar problem on my old SGSI. I flashed an ics rom (don't remeber the name) and everything worked apart from the network so no phone calls and no internet apart from with Wifi. Anyway i googled the problem and tried loads of different solutions. After flashing more roms i ended up with the DarkyROM_v11.0_black_edition with the 3.0.17-semaphore_ics_1.2.5s kernel.
This didn't help either. In a last minute test at the end of what felt like the longest day in my life i checked to find that i had damaged one of the contact pins that read the sim card. I bent it back and everything has worked since then. And it's worked well!
Thanks, it was the modem needed flashing! Very simple too I also downgraded to Gingerbread which is faster.
Thanks everyone :cyclops:

hello.
Maybe you can help me. i just upgrade my phone(gt-i9000) from slim ICS to slim bean 4.1.2 version 3.1. it works great, only i have many problems with mobile signal. when i turn phone on i get signal, which is very weak, even normally i had here full signal. and after few minutes i lose all signal, i detect my network but i can not connect until i turn my phone off, but then the story is same again....
do you have any idea how can i fix this? thanks for any suggestions. and i use semaphore 2.6.5 kernel
it still doesn't work even with new kernel and few new modems.... anyone any idea?

I am having the same problem right now, at first I thought that something might have gone wrong with my slimbean rom, so I flashed the latest 4.2.2 and still the same problem...no signal. I tried to use my sim card in a different device and still no signal but my brother's simcard worked on my SGS!! I'm not sure what's happening, maybe someone can explain how to fix this
Have you posted this on the Slim Thread where you got the Rom
As there may have been other users with same issue that has solved it!
