Official CM 7.1 wifi fix?

I just installed the official CM 7.1 on my x8 and everything on it is brilliant except my wifi isn't working. After some reading I realised that this is a common problem but I'm wondering is there any fix for it yet?

I think you should use another custom rom which based on cm7.2. That's gonna be better.

oh ok! Any suggestions? Will wifi work on those?

try MiniCM7, everything works and UI is very smooth: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362585

[Q] Problem with CM based ROM!

Hello. My wifi works perfectly fine on LG's stock firmware. But it isn't working for me on any other custom rom at all really. I've been googling a lot about it and I really can't find anyone else with this problem. What in the world is going on?

if security type is WEP, it's a known bug with no known possible solution - workaround is to switch to WPA security

It has nothing to do with my wifi. I can't turn on wifi at all. Like it's just grayed out. My wifi also didn't work on stock after I flashed a custom kernel. But it works with stock kernel

hmm, interesting. what roms did you try? did you do full wipe before installing custom rom? which kernel(s) did you try, both on stock and on custom roms?

I've tried official cyanogenmod, Xenon HD and PAC. I tried Iodak kernel on both CM and stock. Iodak kernel actually worked with wifi though on stock. I tried werewolf for cm (didn't work) and EternityProject for both cm and stock which didn't work

[Q] wlan with WEP = no connection

Hi !
I'm using OptimusPrime 2.46 with Liquid Smooth and can`t Connect To WEP WLAN.
Is it a Known bug ? I Had this Problem also with other Roms.
May I need additional drivers ?

its solved by not using old wep, so nobody is interested to fix something that is unsecure.

Not quite true. It doesn't work on CM based ROMs, but Stock based ones should be just fine.

Hi all i'm new !
I'll explain
Today I installed CM10 on my xperia x8 the nAa kernel which ending in .32
Everything is normally installed, the phone started but WiFi won't work
Whenever I activate it, it turns off automatically and I can't connect to the Internet.
Do you have a solution?

Maybe you've flashed wrong one, flash nAa-5 or 6 kernel because it uses newer wifi driver.

I have the E15_2.6.32.61-nAa-06, so i must to install 05 ?

I tested with 05, wifi won't work :/
