Recovery is power+home button, not volume up+home+power ( it is ramdup mode ! ).
1) Place the root file in SD card, not under any folder for simplicity.
2) Make sure the SD is not damaged !!

Power off your phone. Now hold both the earlier said buttons simultaneously. When something starts to appear on the screen, release only the power button while you still hold the home button. You'll be in recovery...

Download mode on Galaxy Ace is accessed by holding down the following keys: Volume Down + Power + Home
You can even watch a video HERE so you don't need to read anything.
You can also watch a video HERE on how to flash a ROM using Odin.
I tried it with diff sd card but it says " no such directory" when i click on apply update from sd card

dont unzip the update file after downloading. Just download update file, put it on your SD card (without extracting), hold the volume up + home + power button at the same time. than you most get in download mode (or whatever its called) install update from sd card, reboot.
p.s you may need to check "unknown sources" from your mobile settings.
Don't select apply update from SD, Instead select your file via choose zip from SD.
Hello if i go to recovery mode, click on apply update from SD card,it says 'file directory' not found :'(

Bricked phone after partitioning sd card

Hello everyone
First of all, the problem I'm having is that my phone will not turn on completely 9 out of ten times giving this error:
[LGE_security] ERROR: boot image signature
[LGE_security] 5 seconds after power is turned off for Battery saving
I'm having this error probably because I tried partitioning my SD card using ROM manager, an app in the play store which had a function partition sd card
As I had no knowledge of what to do I just pressed it as an idiot and chose some options and since then when I turn my phone on it gives me that error and powers off again.
I'm trying to install cyanogenmod with this app but it needs to reboot to do as such and fails every time as I have to manually power it on and off multiple times before it turning on completely again
Anything I can do about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Search for your error and you will get many solutions.
Or try to install another kernel or reflash with full wipe in custom recovery.

SEARCH! There are more ways and no one will provide you anymore help from this point forward, just because you are too lazy to search and read for yourself!
That's ignorant and against the rules of XDA!

Or flash stock recovery with afro all in one tool (this option is safer than factory reset)

Main problem was I couldn't even factory reset because it wouldn't turn on right away after pressing factory reset and could not open recovery mode because of this error, though it has finally worked
Thank you for your help and kindness!

[Q] HUGE problem

Hello,
I rooted my phone correctly(lost everything thought)and then i tried to flash cyanogen mod 10.1
After doing that , via fastboot mode i rebooted my phone into system.
After that, i plugged my phone to the computer but the only light that is shown is red and when i try to put it into fastboot mode the light flashes 3 times(i suppose its telling me that there is no battery).
The phone does not charge when i plug it to a regular charger, only a red stable light is on when it is plugged to the computer but even in this way of charging it, it cannot start. To tell you the truth it only started once in recovery mode and then it couldnt start again.
Did you unlock your boot loader first!?!?
