[Q] Rom and Kernel to have a rocket speed - Samsung Galaxy Mini

I'm rooting and flashing cwm and bla bla bla to my little brother's s5570 and I want squeeze every Hz of the little performance it have this device. But I'm exhausted of the huge amount of roms and kernels I'm finding. So, I think the best choice would be a gingerbread rom. I've flashed cm7.2 official. If ICS or JB is better (and stable too) tell me! maybe I'm confused. But I have no idea of what kernel should I flash... I want the best performance and smoothness. And another question. Is it possible to change external and internal sd card?

Xda rules don't allow best rom threads.

1.I have paul L aosp ics with his kernel and i have no lag.i use this rom+kernel for 4 months.
2.I dont think u can change whole internal with sd but download odex me app and this will odex your system and u will have more space that u expect.

Rules say best rom type of threads. And I saw some threads closed for which rom is fastest. BTW AOSP ICS with badass kernel should be the fastest. But try New Experience ICS if you don't like the lack of statusbar toggles.

As you said it's your little brother's phone. And as not everybody has ages for flashing every single rom to test, it's acceptable. I also asked some st*pid things in Xperia X8 thread. My friend's X8 just didn't boot and as I don't have ages for reading about other phones, asked.

I think still stock rom.. You must try jana rom 6.7. I try ics by paul.L is very fast and stable too but battery drain super fast when you take with camera.

I'd suggest the emanoN v3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176927) that look like a Stock ROM, but gives you the possibility to overclock up to 806MHz, and consequently has Root access. It's based on 2.3.5
Highly fast and stable. Much more with the overclock since Mini is a little lazy on Gingerbread.
Thanx, using gingerbread UK.
Hope it stable...

Use search. Cm is still buggy, so it could be everything, or simply a faulty installation. Recommendation, use search and find the thread about best rom for our ob, or look into my noob guide. There is basically not a best, but simply a decision of taste, so try them and keep the one you like best

Optimised battery i would think is a combination of both Kernel & Rom Apps, the stock kernel runs close to the 832 MHz frequency at most times even when the phone is idle. I always found my battery went fast when on stock firmware. RB's Kernel supports different frequencies and thus depending on the load on the CPU this can help save battery consumption. A bareboned ROM will also help keep power consumption low but the trade off is less app functionality on your phone.
See retribution gave me a very poor battery back up with 3G and wifi. But its quite fast. Right nw i am on stock deodexed XXLH3...with domscript and rafaels kernel. It gives me a 3/4th of a days use....with 3g and wifi.
Battery back up with simplicity V2 was quite good. But it has some app issues. (extreme bareboned). Kies doesnt recognise my fone. So had to restore my XXLH3 back up.

Go with stock....simplicity V3 would be released.....wait for that...V2 has some bugs.....but a good Rom...... Its based on XXLI1. So try using the stock deodexed version of that. Maybe that stock version has good battery life ( report back and let me know abt the battery drain, If you are going to use that )...
Otherwise XXLH3 is a good option.

Are you running WIFI and 3g permanetly all day? If so this will drain your battery pretty fast regardless of what ROM your using i would assume. The Simplicity ROM's are fast and smooth, but at the moment i would wait for its v3 release, im currently using Jillie Bean Beta2 which works for me. You need to be realistic about how much battery use you will get out of your phone, if its being left idle power off functions you dont need.

I agree with you. I do that with every rom i use. And till now simplicity was best at that. XXLA2 Roms didnt last long than these newer versions. Maybe there wud be some stock battery management tweaks. As of now...the battery has been getting better for me with every new updated stock version. I dont know about other users. I just check and try to bring out the best battery back up possible. And yes...thats what i told him above to wait for V3 simplicity.

Hey I'm about to maybe falsh to newest Simplicity V3.5 version.
But I have a question about this rom.
In the description it is said that it is based on "xxli1", right now I'm running a German Ace i with "XXLD2"
Can some one tell me if "XXLI1" will also support German language.
It is possible to import the language afterwards?

1. Use CM10 lite by bieltv.3
The beta 2 version is pretty good and stable, camera, hq video playback, google now (voice search) not working.
119 MB, along WITH Gapps.
2. Use CM10 beta 3 by bieltv.3
Camera now works, camcorder slightly laggy. Flash doesn't work yet.
128 MB without Gapps, remove apps you don't want. Gapps not included so you can flash the ones you want.
3. Use C.A.M.P.S. (CM10+AOKP+MIUI+Parandroid+Sony) (!!!!) ROM by anurag pandey
It's still in beta testing phase. It's a rom for HD2 ported to the SGA. Some features like Aroma Installer not working (never gonna; HD2 --> Ace ?!?)
Doesn't work properly yet, still highly recommended.
Hope I helped!
I think is too soon to try a ICS/JB rom for daily use so give a try to stock CM 7.2 (stable as a Samsung Rom) or a custom based on stock one. These roms will work quite good without problems. This is only my opinion.

Cassie's xtralite room. Most stable, most speed, less bugs, best deep sleep despite being a gb rom.
after flashing many original development roms, I'm back to xtralite rom and I'm not planning to flash another for quite awhile.
it's not the latest and greatest but hey, you asked. Peace out.
Alliance Rom! You just need to go into Android Develeopement thread and see which is the most popular one
I was on Alliance ICS Final for a long time and this is the most stable and absoultely smoothest rom , but it is ICS, you may try if you like...
Now I am switched to Alliance XXLSC, requires the installation of some fix over the Rom customizer, but worth the effort. I just installed 240dpi mod and a few others with nova launcher and it is amazing... contains everything you requested in your first post
EDIT: you know that the stock ICS kernel is not safe for wiping? be sure that first thing you need to do is flash a safe kernel if you are on ICS (from stock recovery it is best to flash PhilZ kernel first, then you can continue to rock )
the best is Stock official rom preinstalled on your NOTE.
