Too much time to open applications - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, my SGA it's taking too much time to open applications. The flashlight for example is taking about 4 ~ 6 seconds and the Swype keyboard is the same. What should I do? I'm using Jelly Bean 4.1.2 LPD deodex w/ CoCore 6.8

try crossbreeder
and/or change governement

Don't you think 77 apps is a little "too much"..?
Try removing the ones you are not likely to use and also use an app called "Greenify" to hibernate almost all the apps...

Sometimes my ram also goes up to 550mb. Now using Co-Core 6.8 CWM + JB Light 1.2 + Greenify (Thanks to that random guy who introduce this to me) + Light apps (Like Ex dailer, Textra SMS, Nova etc.) Now my SGSA is faster than bolt
:good: Try changing Rom

I made some tweks using Pimp My Rom (increase Dalvik cache to 128, etc.) and now is running smooth and good but apps like Facebook Messenger and Pymp My Rom doesn't open, it says that the application stopped. What should I do now? I have a lot customizations and I don't want to reflash the rom.
Here's my build.prop: http://db.tt/w9fa3FDM

Yes, gingerbread is my choice also!!!

I had to reflash the rom because i exclude some lines in build.prop and i got bootlop, now it's a bit better but it's still taking a few "seconds" to open apps. I will flash the LightJB.

[Q] Youtube simply freezes my phone. Period (4.1.2)

Hey guys, simple problem, NO solution.
Why does youtube freeze my phone? It starts by bumping alot at playback, sometimes it goes OK but others...forget, i even have to remove the battery!! Phone totally freezes.
Any solutions?
Im running 4.1.2 I9070XXLPZ
I have the same on xxlpz many times, update to xxlq4 + root + thunderzap kernel + remove bloatwares and you will get rid of it but it is still lag but no freeze anymore...
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
i use JB XXLPZ too..
But my youtube is normal, didn't lag
try reinstall youtube
Use xxlq4

XXLQ4 -> root -> CoCore-E-4.2
Haven't had any freezes since I installed it 2-3 days ago.
1.Flash latest firmware I9070XXLQ4.
2.Root your phone.
3. Install any custom kernel (CoCore, isiri, Thunderzap...)
This may help you.

[Q] What android version are you using now?

I made this thread to know what version of android is most popular right now in galaxy s advance.
I'm using GB (stock), but I'm planing upgrade to JB just because some great apps just work in android version 4+
What about you?

most of us already change to JB, i'm still in custom rom GB
I just installed JB stock LQ4. My experience:
1) With stock LQ4, stock kernel, rooted:
- To now, not bugs that some people say to have, like camera fc.
- Touchscreen feels like not as smother as GB
- There is something like lag in some areas, like in settings, when you press some one like sound, it take like 1s to open that setting. Very anoying
2) With stock LQ4, custom kernel (SIRI), rooted:
- Don't feel any diference with 1) , with pegasusq // sio at least.
When I flashed JB I did wipe data/factory reset, cache and I flashed it twice just like I read in some thread (wipe, flash using odin, boot then wipe again, flash using odin again)

[Q] Jb 4.1.2 lag problem

My jb always hangs my mobile while playing games.:crying: . I need to restart my mobile several times in a day. I think 625 mb ram is not enough for my mobile.
So, is this possible to extend ram more than 1 gb ?
If it is, then what's the procedure ?

The lag problem is there. Use custom kernel to reduce it. Alternatively look at Super charger thread too

You can't extend ram anymore than this because the phone has only 768 mb of ram total. Try using cocore to reduce lag.

Try swapping from memory card.
It decreases ram usage and saves battery but it lags.
Better use class 4 or 6 nemory card.
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
It is not possible to extend ram the 1ly solution is root ur phone and install m10.1 latest build 21/06/2013 and see the difference don't go to swapping or any new kernel because i have followed almost all possible method to make it fast finally i got this 1

But which game? All?
This is impossible.
There will always be something that will not perform well (app or game ... This is normal).
But all?
I can only say that this is not common.
Have you read this forum .
seems to have come now and just wrote it.
Strange, but s3 mini runs stock jelly bean pretty smooth and fast, even though we have almost the same hardware.
But it looks ugly as hell

try to backup your app with titanium backup and do a factory reset or install a better firmware. Install cocore 7.0 CWM or 6.2
After all restore your apps.
I havent any lag on LQG but i have a strange touchscreen issue when i unplug a cable.

Of course ...
But it's difficult to go back to a very old version of Android.
There are a lot of nice feature in JB, and some apps are better in JB than in GB (Gmail, Gmaps ...)
It's really a shame that Samsung has mad a so bad JB version for our device, it's too heavy, too slow ...
When we test CM10 or CM10.1 all seems to be faster and lighter. But there are some bugs and limitations that are a bit boring.
I just nought a tablet. Stock Android google edition 4.1.1. Its the same problem im every 4.1 edition...

I don't think any kernel will solve lag problem. I tried everything finally my suggestion is follow this formula
root u r phone+install latest cm10.1 nightly+flash pure performance xmod
+ using root explorer delete some barebone system apps like live wallpaper, truchbucket launcher, Latin keyboard etc(use alternate app for launcher and keyboard) + install greenify from playstore= galaxy s advance fast as hell as never before
galaxy s advance fast as hell cm10.1 4.2.2
