Lumia 822
Problematic portico update for Verizon Nokia Lumia 822
which does not allow outgoing SMS & 3G data usage after the update

You should downgrade it to the firmware before portico update.. It's a knoen issue.

Thank for your support
now there is an update from Nokia for an Access point app version 3.7.2.15
which allows 3g usage on lumia 822 this is latest update i received.

so did you downgrade the firmware first, and then upgrade?

What you will need to do is reflash your devices same firmware version you currently have, but use Nokia Care Suite with the userconfiguration mod. This will remove any apps and setting you had prior.

[Q] Software update

So I live in Romania, and I have I8190 (international unlocked non-nfc model) and I have xxamd3 since I got it in July... Problem is, software update (even kies) say I have the latest version, however, the latest version for "Romania" (without any carrier) and Vodafone România (my Carrier) were released in September...
I know I can easily flash with Odin, but why am I getting no update by kies or software update?

Nevermind, I got it carrier-free from eMAG, and it apparently has the COA version (cosmote), which is pretty much the only one who didn't get the amg4 update
My question is, what happens if I flash the Romanian version for no carrier? (this might also fix some connection issues, since I am on Vodafone)

No problem. I am from Spain and I use a rooted ROM from Germany without problem.

Yeah, I researched a bit, and I found that the ROM or the CNX (Vodafone ro) cdc were not in my system (/system/cdc), guess I'll just wait for the update from cosmote, I unrooted my phone for warranty, and I don't want to lose it

Can't upgrade to Kit Kat

Hi Guys,
For some reason I cannot upgrade to Kit Kat...
When I plug my phone into PC Companion it says that I already have the latest version.
My problem started with the previous upgrade. All seemed well during the upgrade process but when I looked I had none of the new features and my build number still showed. 290
I tried to run it again but it said that I already has the latest firmware. Now it's refusing to recognise any new firmware telling me that I am updated when I'm not
Any advice anybody?

It might be that your carrier hasn't released the update yet.

Hey no my phone is unlocked and simfree. It's just not recognising the firmware on my phone. I have not even been able to update to 136 as my firmware is on 290 still and it's telling me that I have the latest firmware... Which I obviously don't.

Happened to me too. Here's what I did. I flashed this ftf. You can flash any other KitKat ftf that you prefer in the general section. Just make sure that it has this firmware (14.3.A.0.681) and uses the same model number (C6903).

ROM OTA update without cell service?

I am thinking of buying a used Atrix HD as a backup. If I don't have it activated with a provider, will it get the KK update OTA or will I have to install it manually?

EDIT:
Read it wrong, I believe you will still receive update without cell service. before updating it'll ask you that it is recommended to use wifi.

She will need the stock recovery, stock rom installed and maybe some Preload files that were deleted when she unlocked the bootloader. Read this post it explains what the OTA is looking for.

[Q] Do unlocked Bootloaders still receive updates?

My Moto G 4G is still not showing the Lollipop update here in the UK even though some people seem to have it.
Does rooting have an effect as well?
Oops I'm in the wrong forum.
I would like to know that as well

If you are just rooted and haven't flashed a custom recovery then you should be able to get the update. If you are using a custom recovery then you will probably receive the OTA, but you won't be able to update until you are on a stock recovery.
