after install [ROM][X8/W8] Shin Engine™ | SE MOD2 (Rieyan_Shinji) and follow instrucstion like this :
Unlock Bootloader
Flash Alfs or nAa kernel
Reboot to CWM Recovery
enter Mount and Storage -> /format system
Wipe data/factory reset -> Wipe cache partition enter Advance -> /wipe dalvik cache /wipe battery stats
Flash ROM = wait until finish
Flash Update, Addons
but, have laggy and randomly restart, i try with kernel nAa - 11, X8_08-cm7-v5_Alfs_Djnilse,and X8_Alfs8_SDE_Final...

Flashing Devil kernel at RC4.2 ICS By team ICSSGS

When Flashing Devil's Kernel 14.2 , Do I have to do any kind of wipe?
Or can I just flash the kernel with no wipes or anything else?
Using Rom 4.2RC by Oncosmic Ics..

As far as I'm aware you don't need to wipe anything. I was in RC 4.1. I flashed RC 4.2 then Devil 14.2 and didn't do any wipe at all. It's working fine to me!
Anyway as a safe make a nandroid backup

Yes, no need to wipe data.
Just flash Devil kernel

well, to be on the safe side I always Wipe Cache and Dalvik [Don't wipe Data/Factory reset]

Where can I download the Devil 14.2 kernel? I searched for a while but could not find it ...

Before you flash any kernel is necessary to apply the cleaner script to delete the remains of the old kernel.
It is important to do this to avoid problems with the new kernel.

This is not very important, no.
If you apply the right kernel, no need to do that.

well, sorry, one question, does devil 1.1 better than 14.2 for icssgs 4.2?

Semaphore 0.9.0 is the best. Try it

No, just flash and maybe clear dalvik cache. Also, check out Semaphore 0.9.0, i had good ezperiences with it and ICS rc4.2

[q] help installing rocket rom

hello,
first of all i am a new user so please no jargon's and hard words for me.
I am trying to install rocketrom V22 on my SGN
i have
PDA - N7000XXKL3
CSC - N7000DDKL1
PHONE- N7000DDKL1
i rooted my phone using Initial CF root flasher and then went into recovery mode and flashed rocket rom.
but the phone got stuck on the boot video of rocket rom.
what am i doing wrong. will i have to install other kernel before installing the rom.?
Please some one give me complete installation steps.

Go back in recovery, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache, reflash the rom and reboot, that should do it

it means it doesnt matter no what kernel i am. i can flash any rom on it.?
like i have KL3 but rocket is LA4.?

That doesn`t matter, just wipe and reflash rocket rom as i said earlier, it will boot up

and i found a theme over xda which was ics theme for cynogen mod . can i flash it on rocket rom.?

The kernel controls the most basic parts of the phone operation such as power management.
You cannot use themes for Cyanogenmod or any other ROM other than ones that state they are for Rocket ROM.

Full instructions on the website

if you have a rooted phone with CWM.
Download CM9 rom +slim ICS ROM + Gapps
Wipe data, Format System.
Install CM9.
Reboot to recovery.
Install SlimICS and Gapps.
Reboot and Enjoy.

[Q] Ginger DX v31b

Hi after trying the jb mini project on my x8 I thought I might look for something else as I seem to be having quite a few issues (probably due to being a noob at this). I saw a poll saying ginger DX was the most liked rom for the x8 but it is discontinued and I could not find a working link to the kernel and rom. If someone knows where one is lurking I would much appreciate it.

GAPPS
Jb mini was my first adventure in flashing/ unlocking/ kernels/ bootloader stuff but I'm a little confused by gapps. Jb mini had apps built in but does a specific rom/fernel need specific apps? Will the wrong on brick my venerable x8? How do I recognise the correct version of gapps?
Thanks again in advance I love how helpful folks are on here. I'm asking noob questions but this thread may help the next noob out of a dilemma.

go to recovery.mod
wipe cache partation, wipe factory data, go to mount storage, formate data,formate cache, formate system then go back.. advance wipe dalvik cache... go back.... install ur gdx31b, flash gapps, flash the libsensor patch... reboot wait till 1-2 min... n ur done cheers
