Pls can anyone help me im sooooo desperate. i just upgraded my fone via kies but after upgrade my fone is now blank, i cant use it anymore. pls hell. did i brick my fone??? can i bring it to life again??
You should try to reinstall the stock firmware. First see if you can get into download mode. Two ways, while your phone is off, hold down volume, the home button, and power button together till you get a yellow sign that has a digging android. If that don't work, other way is to take battery out, hold down volume, home button, and power together and reinsert the battery. Once you get to that stage, use Odin to reinstall your firmware.

shud all my apps be restored?? or back to square 1?
Well seeing as though you updated via kies, all your apps are deleted. I would just start fresh and back to stock. After that I would install a custom rom from the forums here, in my opinion, these rom makers do a great job making Roms that will make your phone be a phone and more

Two choices return phone to Samsung saying broke under Kies update .
Or use recovery jig and flash stock firmware this is an unofficial method that will invalidate your warranty .

Sorry went to bed, just woke up. Anyways download the stock firmware for your phone. Make sure you download the right one. Meaning if you have the i9000M, download i9000M, or if you have i9000T, download i9000T. If you check behind your battery you'll.find your model. I don't think it really matters, I mean your just gonna flash another rom once your phone is back to life for sure. ;-)

Hi Experts,
I have a Cappy and i love Continuum 5 ROM. I never miss any versions from beta2 to RC 3, everything is ok, but now when contimuum v5.1 was released. I tried to flash it but i got a big problem in that version. The first, i encountered Boot Loop issue while booting, but it's not the biggest problem, my cappy is still boot up to the home screen, and here everything was became very bad. My Cappy got lag and cant interact with return and it reboot automatic after that.
Now, when v5.1 was released, i believed it'll be fixed, but it's still exists. .
my cappy cant boot up to home screen. it repeats booting to continuum animation and restart forever.
can anybody give me a suggestion for turning my cappy back !!!!!!!! Please help
Did you have full battery? I made this mistake too... Be sure that you did everything correctly..

I would suspect you could simply use the 1-CLICK ODIN program to restore the phone then follow the steps carefully for 5.1 (which is a pretty awesome ROM btw)
I'm sure i charged full battery before flashing.

Your best bet is the jig. If that doesnt work then I would try and get a warrenty replacment. I went over the thread and it stated that if you get a bootloop you should boot into recovery and reflash the rom, did you do that?

right. i got a bootloop when flash to v5.2. i tried to flash the rom in recovery mode many times, but it's still exists. even i flash back to RC3. i got only the android text animation on the screen.
thus i have to flash to the stock by that way. and now i got a brick
I've had problems in the past with getting to download mode on the cappy. I did some googling trying to find a way, ended up finding a very good page on it:
http://samsungcaptivate.wikia.com/wiki/Putting_the_Phone_into_Download_Mode
I hope that helps.
Had the same problem with my cappy. The problem is that after all you did, you have one bootloader from i9000 and another from i897. The jig won`t help. I`ve found the people that recovered the phone with JTAG.
was updated with Odin and get this message on the screen
Firmware Upgrade Fail !
Try using recovery mode
as the image of last post
says in that thread that is solved so
I do not understand
The phone-!-computer is a download mode, so if you can get to that, you should just Odin 1-click back to stock KK2 (get one with CWM) and reflash Illuminance.

That screen IS download mode - it's just telling you it won't go any further than that.
Follow the steps for what you were trying to do before with Odin, and you should be able to fix it straight away.

First link has the answer.
unplug phone, pull battery, reinsert battery, while holding both volume buttons insert usb cable, open odin, remove usb cable, connect usb cable to phone and pc, flash. thats the process. done it countless times with the screen you describe.
Just getting stuck with ODIN..
I continued with ODIN update after seeing this issue.. but somehow the screen is stuck at 'Set PIT File'. DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET. Does not seem to be going any further for 30 mins now..
the screen you are telling about is just like another version of download mode
first open odin one click then connect the device in download mode and click on start button you will get device running
Try leaving the battery out for like 5 minutes and/or use another odin 1 click

LOL This made my day :highfive:
try to use odin one click restore to stock rom
I attempted to root my SGS i9000m using odin, I put the phone into download mode and ran odin, it flashed some files and now my phone wont boot or enter recovery/download mode! It randomly shows AT&T World phone splash screen whenever i try to turn it on. That screen just keeps flashing and refuses to boot or be recognized by the computer. When I plug the phone into a USB cord it wont turn on at ALL.
Please, please don't tell me Im screwed!
Try and look into getting a USB JIG, which may get your phone booting into download mode and from there hopefully Odin detects it so you can flash
Yeah you flashed the wrong firmware on your phone.. u need a jig.. and next time READ!

Search the forums for a jig.. I think you can buy them on ebay .. or if your handy with a soldering gun you can make it yourself.
There is no wrong version of Odin.. you just downloaded the wrong firmware and flashed it before reading what phone it was for

Btw a jig is a device with an USB plug, that plugged in your phone switched off, the turn on, should put it in download mode.
Inviato dal mio GT-I9000 usando Tapatalk
Where are you located? Maybe someone near you has a jig.
Did you pull the battery out and then put it back in to see if you can get into download mode? That worked for me when I messed up my first root attempt.
if you can get into download mode.. you should be able to flash the correct firmware.. no jig needed...
