Hey guys, phone died today incredibly quickly.
Now its off and "charging". The red light is flashing and I can not get the phone to turn on.
Does anyone know what the issue could be?
Just checked the phone and now the light is solid and the phone is booting. What is going on?
Maybe it was dead?
when the light is blinking when phone is off and plugged in that means its ultra low charge. you must wait until the light turns a solid color that basically says ok theres enough juice to fully boot.

Check for wakelocks using wakelock detector or gsam battery monitor and see if a bad app is hammering your battery life.

So I guess it's getting a good connection since the light is on? Phone has stock software.
It won't come on when plugged up, but you can unplug it and it will come on. Then it gives the "battery is critically low" message, or whatever is says, then beeps and powers off.
Thanks in advance for for help!
you're not the only one... I'm having the same problem:

Mine is similar to yours, but my light doesn't turn red. Just stays orange, like it's charging.

Interesting.
And the phone gets a little warm like the battery really is charging.
It won't turn on if it's plugged it, it just freezes on the AT&T screen. But if you unplug it, it comes on. But of course shuts right back off.
Weird thing today... turned it on and it stayed on for a little bit showing 100% battery, then after a little while, it "dinged" and shut off. This time not saying anything about a low battery.
Everyone is telling me its a hardware problem.

Gonna try a new battery and see what happens.
Stayed on for about an hour with the new battery, then dinged and went off.
I guess a hard reset is next.
Orange Light Always On
hi I have been facing the same problem in my HTC touch Viva (India))...... but the problem is random .......... all of a sudden the light comes on and the phone claims to be charging without any source of charging ............... however in my case soft reset makes the light revert back to normal......but the problem re occurs after a few hours ....... I have tried every solution given on the internet (Hard Reset , registry hack etc) ....... but no avail.........Has anyone found a solution to this
My phone Specifications
WM 6.1
ROM 1.35.720.2 WWE
RADIO 03.37.90
hi!
i was just wondering, my tytn 2 is not charging, when i look at the battery meter, it says charging, but instead of going up. it goes down, the amber light
the signals charging is gone.
im sure its not the battery. coz i did get a charger, the one where u put probes on the + and - terminal of the battery, it charged. the battery is working now. however, i couldnt charge via the phone.
the red light came up before which indicates not charging so what do i do now?
someone suggested to hard reset it. i tried it but nothing. still the same. i reflashed it... nothing... now using the hyperdragon rom... still the same...
any ideas?
btw, when i plug in the charger, amber light is there... however, not for long, light turns off, but the charging / plugged into the charger symbol is there
as far as my personal experience goes, i have noticed this behavior only when the battery overheats while charging. in the hottest weather, this has NEVER happened for me. it only happens sometimes if my device screen is on WITH wifi WITH bluetooth WITH data connection WITH some heavy processing program running. this causes heating of the components and also leaves little power to charge the battery, because most of the charger's power is being redirected to power the components in use.
so, the device will charge for a few minutes and will interrupt the charging if the temperature rises. the charging will resume again when the temperature comes back down.
you can test if this is happening with your device by observing how long it charges before stopping, first without a fan and then with a fan blowing over the battery with the back cover removed.
if the charging lasts longer when the device is being cooled with a fan, then you are likely facing temperature issues.

when i opened it, i saw that there is some dirt / corrosion on some lines
cleaned each and every one of them.
while it was open, plugged in the battery... then the charger...
after 2 minutes... battery bar went up! it is now charging!!! and
best thing... it also syncs!

Hi, I was using my XZ yesterday flawlessly and then out of no where it just turned off. I did everything I could find on the forums but it just sits there with the red Led permanently on. I left it charge overnight, when I woke up the led was green and the screen said it had a full charge. I turn it on, it gets to the lock screen and then shuts down again. It's sitting there again with the red led on as if the battery was drained completely in 1 min! What can I do about it? THANKS!

Hmm... Try doing this:
Get it charged till you get the led green, KEEP charging, and then turn it on. See if you can use it for 5 mins, 10 mins, even an hour. See if it turns off automatically. If it works fine while plugged, then that shouldn't be the problem of your ROM. Then, unplug the charger, and see if it shuts down soon. If it does, we can make sure it's the problem of your battery.

I'm gonna check that out thank you! .. and I'm pretty sure it's a ROM problem because it was fully charged and yet it shut down never to be woken up again til 5 min ago that I connected it to the PC and it briefly showed me the charging screen (battery completely drained) and then the Red Led came back on and the screen went away as soon as I disconnected it from the PC. I connected it to the wall charger but the screen didn't come on again. Thoughts about this? (also the computer briefly recognized the phone and then it didn't anymore) right now is plugged to the wall charger to see if the battery picks up, so I can proceed with all the flashing stuff.
What causes this type of problems? I really had high hopes with this phone, it's gorgeous to look at (the best design on a phone IMO) but it failed me
I replaced my broken screen recently, the battery had been lying dead for more than a month. Now after replacing the screen when i try to charge the phone, the RED LED blinks on a frequency of 7-10 seconds.
When I disconnect the battery flex and connect it to my PC it goes to fastboot mode, I was even able to flash a stock rom. When I connect it to main charger with the battery disconnected, display shows sony and turns off.
When reconnect the battery it won't display anything and the RED LED keeps blinking frequently. What might be the problem faulty battery ? or main board problem ?

The battery is completely discharged. Keep it on the wallcharger for 24 hours and then try to boot it.

But if it is discharged completely and when tried to recharge why would the red led keep blinking and not continuously glowing ?

Now the battery is charging I guess, RED LED is now glowing constantly which has been blinking earlier. Even though I was not able to Switch it ON.
The only way to recharge the phone is by using charging dock
Well, last night I was using my HTC One until the battery went to 1%, I plugged the device but it turned off anyway. I plugged the carger once again with the phone already off due to no battery remaining and it turned the screen on with the ilustration of a battery indicating that is charging, then the phones screen went off, along with the LED a like 3 times, and now the screen is off and the LED just keeps turning on and off like once a second.
What happened to my phone? Is there a way to fix it?
Please help!
